In an 8 team keeper league my available OF waiver options are Granderson, Quentin, Lind & Jones (Balt.) Who’s got the most upside? Would you drop Pence for one of these? It’s always a guess on returning injured players. Thanks for the help. Jim
Instant gut feel is baby-grand. That stadium, combined with that lineup can do wonderful things for someone’s stats. His platoon splits the past 2 years are horrific and leg injuries for a speedster is troubling. But his talent, park factor and lineup protection are too much to ignore.
Pence is streaky, good home park but horrible lineup and that team is going nowhere so if you had to think about it, would you rather have Grand or Pence going forward for the next few years, and would you do that trade if it was offered to you?

How should we value Carlos Beltran for the rest of the season? In a very deep 18-team mixed league, would you value Beltran’s potential contributions higher or lower than what we expect from guys like DeJesus or Fukudome for the rest of the year?
12 Team, Head to Head Points. No Keepers. My OF consist of Justin Upton, Matt Kemp, Andrew McCutchen, Jason Heyward, and Ryan Ludwick. There are only 3 OF spots and 1 UTIL. However, I have Pujols at 1st base and Billy Butler filling my UTIL when the matchup is right. Instead of having to sit 2 solid hitters and taking my chances I’m looking to shop Ludwick for a SP right now. My SP are Lester, Liriano, Marcum, Lilly, Scott Baker, Edwin Jackson. My RP are Neftali Feliz, Jon Rauch, Joakim Soria, and Fransisco Cordero. At C I have McCann, 2B Polanco, Weeks, and Ian Stewart, 3B Chase Headley, and SS Furcal.
Like I said I’m looking to shop an outfielder. I’m willing to trade one of the young studs for a solid top 20 SP. Is this reasonable? Nobody is biting very hard just yet, who are some sleeper average producing SP so far who should perform MUCH better? Should I sell any of my OF low if nobody bites, or just wait until they heat up and sell them high? I think the trade deadline is in July so I have a good month. Should I not accept anything less than what I want? I am currently in 1st place 5-1, and 6 of the 12 teams make the playoffs.
I think you could also shop for a SS. Maybe Jeter makes sense, something like Furcal plus Luddy might net you Jeter. You could try to shop Heyward for a top-top shelf guy like King Felix or Haren, and you wouldn’t have too much of a drop off to Luddy. I mean, Heyward is great, but you can’t keep him, and he’s striking out around a quarter of the time and is in uncharted territory. If you sell Ludwick, you’re probably looking at Josh Beckett at very best, but more likely someone like Oswalt, Slowey or Jurrjens.

My roster might as well be a list of this years struggling players. Which of these guys should I stick with, and which should I give up on early? This is a 20 team league, so any player I drop will most likely be gone before I get a chance to reconsider
Chipper Jones, Nyjer Morgan, BJ Upton, Grady Sizemore, Ricky Weeks, Javier Vazquez, Jhoulys Chacin, Carlos Zambrano and Kerry Wood.
This is a keeper league (5 players count for the 5 first rounds) so I’m liable to stick with Chacin and Morgan at pretty much any cost.

Tough quesiton – hopefully you can help me out. For the remainder of the season, who do you see having the most useful fantasy season in a league where WHIP and K/9 are stat categories along with the standard – Ricky Nolasco, Clayton Kershaw, or James Shields. I see the pros and cons for each.
