I was wondering whether you were planning to release a top 100 or 200 list?
i find those useless…when your going that far down a list it begins to become more a function of need (position or category). I laugh at the these places that do top 400 lists. theres no utility
A top 100 list is “that far down a list”? How did you turn top 100 or 200 into top 400? I see no reason why a consensus top 200 couldn’t be a useful thing to have on hand during a draft.

Sure. Because by the 8th, 9th rd i’ll weigh more heavily a positional or categorical need over a guy who is ranked 80 vs 100 in an aggregate ranking. The guy ranked 80 might pickup SGP’s that are less important to my team based on how i’ve drafted to that point.
Further, a consensus ranking isn’t going to catch the intricacies of different league formats nor the dynamics of how a draft may be progressing.
I find it much more useful to reference the positional rankings and use a more open minded approach to where certain players fit in the big picture at that point in the draft.
That would be very helpful!

why did you pick steamer for batters and zips for pitchers as opposed to just averaging them all? thx

Great work, as always. In the future, would it be possible to list whether or not the player is in the AL or NL? That way, those of us in AL- or NL-only leagues could easily filter out players in the other league.

Only noticed bc I’m looking at tweaking some projections for players I may platoon, but Brandon Moss projection in spreadsheet is substantially lower than Steamer projection when you bring up through projections/steamer link.
Seriously, nobody notices that all these numbers are different from the steamer projections? Can someone explain please!
I got the steamer projections for the batters off the steamer page here http://www.fangraphs.com/projections.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&type=steamer and the ones on the player page are perhaps more informed by our depth charts for playing time. I used ZiPs for pitching. Steamer will update again Monday.
