Daily Fantasy Strategy — May 16 — For Draftstreet

As usual, we have a full slate tonight. Unfortunately, the odds of all of the games being played without a hitch is in question. Yankee Stadium (Pirates @ Yankees) has a an 80% chance of rain at game time, and 90% throughout the day. There’s also a 60% chance of rain in Colorado, but it does appear the weather will begin to taper off at/around game time.

A few more games – Cincinnati at Philadelphia, Detroit at Boston, Milwaukee at Chicago (NL) – could be delayed. So be mindful of those when you’re setting your lineups. The only game I’m strictly staying away from is Pittsburgh at New York (AL). And that’s a shame, because I really liked Neil Walker versus David Phelps.

Probables Chart

Lance Lynn is my favorite bargain pitcher of the day. It’s hard to go wrong choosing Yu Darvish versus anyone, but he doesn’t have an easy assignment tonight. The Mets have been pretty terrible versus right handed pitching so far. For that reason, I like Tanner Roark a little tonight, although his upside might not be huge. And of course, the Rockies are back at home so Eric Stults’ blood might run through downtown.

The Daily Five

Athletics’ stack

Brandon Moss – $7,297
Josh Donaldson – $6,895
Yoenis Cespedes – $7,481

And we’re back to our trust A’s. Zach McAllister has been rather decent so far, but he’s also been really lucky in regards to home runs. I’m just in love with the Athletics’ offense at the moment. I can admit that.

Howie Kendrick – $6,664

Usually I try to have as much of a platoon advantage as possible. In Kendrick’s case, I’m willing to make an exception. He’s swung the bat extremely well so far, while Chris Archer has struggled mightily of late.

Lance Lynn – $15,241

The Braves’ offense has been a trainwreck. Lynn gets crushed by lefties. The Braves only have two lefties – Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman – that play every day and can really do much damage. Strikeouts could also come in bunches, making Lynn’s price quite the bargain.
