Current Steamer Fantasy Rankings and Auction Values

If you’ve been wishing current Steamer projections were turned into fantasy values, wish no more, as I have done the work for you.

Below you’ll find the top 100 players for next year based on current Steamer projections, calculated using the evaluation system explained and updated on this site some time ago. The valuations are built for $260 budgets and standard 5×5 roto fantasy leagues, where only one catcher is started. Players are listed at their primary positions from 2014. The “obp$$” column in what the players are worth in an OBP format, in case you’re more interested in that sort of thing.

If you would like to view the rankings for all 7334 players projected by Steamer, please peruse this spreadsheet, for it is far too large to be posted on these hallowed pages.

Both the top 100 and the spreadsheet were updated at 10:55a ET to reflect a previous error.

It seems like the OBP$$ column has lower numbers, but follows the same order as the $$ column. I would expect that the columns would differ in order, with some players being much more valuable (or much less valuable, depending on your perspective) in OBP leagues.

Yeah that’s a pretty clear formatting error.

He accidentally copied the wrong column. It’s not the end of the world, I’m sure it’ll be fixed pretty soon.

Def something going on with $OBP none of the values are higher for $OBP

The issue is that the OBP values are based on a $255 budget rather than $260 that is used for the regular 5×5. I don’t know if that was intentional or not, but yeah, it doesn’t allow for an easy comparison of values between the two formats.

Haha, actually the OBP values are the exact same as the 5×5 values, the only difference between the two is that one is for a $260 budget and the other is for a $255 budget. There’s been no adjustment for OBP at all. Zach probably just copied over the wrong column, which seems to be one used in a league that has 5 reserves and he has allocated $5 apiece for those reserves.
