Roto Riteup: August 25, 2016
Always. Shoot. Your. Shot.
The Royals have won nine games in a row. The Royals are suddenly just four games out of a wild card spot. I don’t think the Royals are particularly good, but their pixie magic from the last couple of years clearly hasn’t worn off yet. Let this be a lesson, I guess, that your fantasy season isn’t over yet – I hope your bad team still has a late push in it, friend.
Mark Trumbo’s last seven hits are all home runs. He hasn’t had a non-home run hit since Aug. 6. I’m not sure there’s ever been a more Mark Trumbo stat than that. The 30-year-old slugger now has a league-leading 38 home runs on the year, a new career-high.

With deep sadness, I regret to inform you that the Olympics are officially over. However, Pyeongchang 2018 is less than 18 months away!
The Mariners are winning baseball games, and this Roto Riteup author is happy about that.

Look, nobody has been more in on Tyler Naquin this year than me. I was high on him early, owned a few shares, jumped again when he was recalled, truly believing there were 20 home runs and a decent average in this bat. He was one of my “flag” players, to steal a phrase. So I’m happy when he succeeds, but sir, kindly miss me with these types of plays against the Blue Jays.
Dansby Swanson made his major-league debut on Wednesday, hitting a pair of singles to ingratiate himself to the Braves faithful. Even more endearing a start than his two hits, though? Using the Ludacris classic Georgia as his walk-up music. That’s good representing. Field Mob forever. I’m still skeptical about his short-term fantasy value, but that’s a good way to win a fan.
Chase Utley hit two home runs and got a pair of curtain calls in his return to Philadelphia. Still, his greatest moment in the city is and will always be his relationship with Mac.
