Notable Workloads
•Liam Hendriks, CHW: Three of the last four days; 23 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource
Kendall Graveman would probably close on Monday, with lefty Aaron Bummer another option.
•Scott Barlow, KCR: 30 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource
Dylan Coleman is likeliest to earn a save chance on Monday.
•Kenley Jansen, ATL: Three straight days; 7 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource
Raisel Iglesias has also pitched three straight, so that leaves A.J. Minter as the likeliest closer on Monday.
•Daniel Bard, COL: 35 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource
With only three days left in the season, Bard’s two-inning save with six strikeouts might be the final exclamation point on a very strong season for the righty. Dinelson Lamet, Alex Colomé, and Justin Lawrence are all plausible closing options, at least on Monday.
•David Bednar, PIT: 24 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource
Bednar is yet to work back-to-back days since coming off the IL late last month, so it’s unlikely he’s available Monday. Chase De Jong and Duane Underwood Jr. both had heavy workloads Sunday as well, which could leave Robert Stephenson as the top closing option.

Outlier Saves
•Dillon Tate, BAL | RosterResource
Félix Bautista exited Friday’s game with knee discomfort and hasn’t pitched since, so it’s possible the Orioles are just shutting him down for the last handful of games of the season. Tate, his top setup man, got the call in the ninth on Sunday and shut the Yankees down in order for his fifth save on the season. He’s likely first in line for saves in the last three games of Baltimore’s season with no reason to push Bautista.
•Rafael Montero, HOU | RosterResource
With the Astros having secured home-field advantage at least until the World Series, they’ve got no real reason to push Ryan Pressly very hard in the lead-in to the playoffs. So Pressly retreated to the bench after 27 pitches on Saturday, with Montero filling his place on Sunday. He wasn’t at his finest, walking two, but ended up pitching a scoreless inning for his 14th save of the season, many of which came during Pressly’s IL stints throughout the year.
•Tanner Scott, MIA | RosterResource
Scott, plagued by command issues all season, finally gave up his closing spot to Dylan Floro at the end of August, but ended up back in a familiar role on Sunday. Floro blew his save chance in the ninth, and Tommy Nance blew his in the tenth. The Marlins retook the lead in the 12th to give Scott a shot, and while he walked a batter, he struck out two (a very typical outing for him overall) to earn his 20th save of the season and put a massive dagger in the Brewers’ playoff hopes.
