NEW FEATURE ALERT! We have added an upgraded version of RosterResource’s Closer Depth Chart to FanGraphs. Read more about it here.

Notable Workloads
•Greg Holland, KCR: 30 pitches on Tuesday. | RosterResource
Scott Barlow, Jake Brentz, Kyle Zimmer and Josh Staumont are all more than capable of filling in.
•José Alvarado, PHI: 33 pitches on Tuesday. | RosterResource
Co-closer Archie Bradley would get the ball in the ninth.
•Alex Reyes, STL: 32 pitches on Tuesday. | RosterResource
Giovanny Gallegos is the best option to substitute. So too could Génesis Cabrera, although he’s worked back-to-back days and may not be available either.
•Brad Hand, WSN: Three days in a row; 8 pitches on Tuesday. | RosterResource
Austin Voth (who’s worked three of the last four days but topped out at 16 pitches thrown) and Wander Suero are the two best bets to substitute if needed.

•Dillon Tate, BAL | RosterResource
Tate entered with one out in the seventh when the Orioles were leading by a single run, but continued to pitch and ultimately finished the game even after Baltimore scored nine more unanswered runs. Tate ultimately retired eight of nine batters faced to earn a very impressive first career save.

Any chance you could start commenting on under the radar relievers who are performing really well?
Here’s a freebie for you: Nick Sandlin, CLE.
He’s been a beast for sure. Def on my radar. It would be useful if this article would track those kinda guys for us is all I’m saying.
Jake Cousins had a stellar first two outings. Last night a little rocky
Loving this whole comment thread as well as the ones below! I’ll pass that idea along to the powers that be but for now you can see Relievers On The Rise noted in the Closer Depth Chart: https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/closer-depth-chart
Paul Sewald has been pitching in higher leverage situations with a strong K rate. Closer dark horse if Graveman gets traded
Thanks.
David Bednar might become the closer if/when Rodriguez gets traded.
Keep an eye on Tyler Wells in Baltimore. He’s leading the team in High Leverage usage over the past two weeks, with a 2.6 gmLI (leverage index when entering the game) compared to around 2.0 for each of Sulser/Harvey/Scott. Fry is a distant 5th at 1.0.
Wells leads the Orioles with a 26.1 K-BB% on the season, with 18 Ks vs 0 BBs across his past 10 appearances. He also handles lefty hitters quite well with his change-up. Only concern for saves is he usually goes 1+ innings/appearance, along the lines of how Sims and Antone were used in Cincinnati. But that also puts him in a good situation for grabbing some Ws.
Good situation for grabbing some Ws (if he were on a team that could get Ws)
