Notable Workloads
•Scott Barlow, KCR: 30 pitches on Tuesday. | RosterResource
Aroldis Chapman would likely close on Wednesday assuming Barlow’s unavailable.
Injury News
•None
Outlier Saves
•Roansy Contreras, PIT | RosterResource
The Pirates piggybacked Contreras with Rich Hill on Tuesday, and Contreras rewarded his team with three shutout innings to pick up an unconventional first career save.
Contreras struggled in the rotation, and then struggled in his first relief appearance, but he’s now on a nice run. He’s allowed just one run in his last four appearances, spanning 8.1 innings.
Committee Clarity
•Sam Moll, OAK | RosterResource
The A’s rearranged things on Tuesday, using closer Trevor May in the eighth against the righty-heavy top of the Yankees’ lineup before turning the ball over to Moll in the ninth for what would have been a couple lefties. Jake Bauers was pinch-hit for, so ultimately Moll just had the platoon advantage for one batter of the five he faced, but he was nonetheless able to get out of the jam for his first career save.
The A’s may continue this co-closing situation with May and Moll, choosing a closer based on the platoon advantage and where in the lineup the opposition is.
Losing A Grip
•None

No save situation last night, but Finnegan has now entered the game three straight times before Harvey. As a Finnegan owner, I’m afraid Harvey is the clear #1 now.
