Bullpen Report: Friday, September 18, 2015

Ugh. Greg Holland blew another one on Friday night. He hit 95 mph, so that’s good news, but he gave up three hits, a pair of walks and two runs. He’s still getting save opps, so I guess you should stick with him.

The Box was only slightly funky tonight. He got credit for the save, but gave up a solo shot to stick him with an ERA of 9.00 for the effort.

Arodys Vizcaino struck out the side for his fifth save of the year. I have him on my roster for saves, but I’m in like last place.

Tom Wilhelmsen got his 12th save and probably made all of the Ranger fans sad by locking down his 12th save.
I swear I pimped Ryan Dull like a month ago! He just got his first save, so if you picked him up then on my reco, big ups to you. You have one extra save.

John Axford nabbed his 24th save on Friday night.

Notes from Wednesday: Trevor Rosenthal and Andrew Miller both struck out the side in perfect ninths on Wednesday night. Kevin Jepsen blew a save, but Glen Perkins was slated to be ready Friday night. Unfortunately, he was grounded by Mother Nature, as rains postponed the Twins. Craig Kimbrel added 1.3 scoreless to his ledger, also striking out three. Kenley Jansen got back on track, striking out a pair in his scoreless frame, nabbing his 32nd save. Tom Wilhemsen(11) and Santiago Casilla(34) each notched saves on humpday.
Notes from Thursday: David Robertson blew another save, giving up three runs, with a Billy Butler three-run shot being his undoing. Sean Doolittle pitched two innings(!), for the win. A.J. Ramos picked up his 28th save, and Darren O’Day picked up his third. Alex Colome had his first real hiccup out of the pen, as he surrendered four earned on five hits and a walk. Greg Holland got a three-pitch, three-out save and he only topped 91.5 mph with the heater. He did get save 32 though. Huston Street has 36 saves!

Vizcaino actually needed to get a 4th out when the catcher fumbled strike 3 right into the stands! It was a liner to 2nd so I think technically that is not striking out the side.

His slider was out of this world last night. It looks like his earlier problems are behind him.
