Roto Riteup: April 13, 2013

Per usual, when the author is presented the ability to defer words to N*Sync, he enthusiastically does so. My god, the memories…

On today’s agenda:
1. What to make of Justin Masterson
2. Justin Maxwell’s hitting streak
3. Riding Daniel Murphy’s hot hand
4. Jose Reyes‘ latest injury
5. C.C. Sabathia’s great start, and lingering velocity questions

Roto Riteup: April 12, 2013

The author missed last night’s new episode — not to mention season finale — of Archer. One could correctly assume that while not pleased with this turn of events, the author cannot complain, as he enjoyed watching Chopped instead.

On today’s agenda:
1. Denard Span’s early doings
2. A Houston Astro you might want to grab (no, really!)
3. Jockeying for position: Jordany Valdespin
4. An ugly fight breaks out, and so does an expensive shoulder

I suppose National Championships are nice, but I prefer fantasy championships. You know, when I finally actually *win* a league. Yes, my deep dark secret is that I have never actually won a fantasy league that wasn’t a public league (which I don’t consider real leagues, or at least I didn’t think that particular public league qualified).

On today’s agenda:
1. Roy Halladay gets torched, again
2. A perennial fantasy stud finally shows up this season
3. Ervin Santana bounces back
4. The new Atlanta Braves cleanup hitter?

Apparently there were some basketball games on last night. I guess I was too busy watching baseball. I’d say I made the right call.

On today’s agenda:
1. The John Lackey roller coaster continues
2. Trevor Bauer could use a GPS to find the zone
3. Is Carl Crawford back?
4. Another Milwaukee Brewer bat goes down

Roto Riteup: April 6, 2013

As the noted lyricist and singer R Kelly famously said, “it’s the freakin’ weekend, I’m bout to have me some fun.” That’s right, the weekend is upon us! For a lucky few, there are minor league home openers to go to as well. Living here in the Midwest does have a sole privilege: I am just over an hour away from three Midwest League teams.

On today’s agenda:
1. Justin Ruggiano starts to run
2. The Houston Astros get their daily Straily vitamin K
3. Zack Cozart flashes more power

Roto Riteup: April 2, 2013

Well, now that we have a sufficient sample size to go on, let us judge some players!

On today’s agenda:

2. Ryan Ludwick goes down with an injury
3. Jackie Bradley goes hitless, but still has a big day

Roto Riteup: March 31, 2013

Ladies and gentlemen, today is the day that the games matters. Make sure you set your lineups and to start keeping track of your innings or games started limits.

On today’s agenda:
1. Collin Cowgill as the New York Mets’ starting center fielder
2. A Texas Ranger gets the green light on the base path
3.The Arizona Diamondbacks finally choose their fifth starter

Two things that are generally overrated: Five Guys and Nutella
Two things that are impossibly underrated: The weekend and naps — especially naps on the weekend

David Wiers’ 10 Bold Predictions For The 2013 Fantasy Season

Being the team player that I am — as well as a glutton for punishment from the comments section — I am about to share with you the reasons why you’ll win your league this season. These are my highly coveted secrets of the trade. Normally a transaction of this magnitude is done in a shady alley in the dead of the night, involving non-sequential bills and lots of glances over my shoulder. I guess in theory you could be reading this in a shady alley in the dead of night, but I digress. These are my 10 bold predictions for the 2013 fantasy season.
