Paul Sporer: Hello everyone, thanks for coming out!!

Hank Scorpio: Would you consider trading my W. Smith (closer) for their D. German fair value, or should I be looking for better than a mid-60s arm based on your rankings? I have Hader + Duran otherwise, so no problem offloading Smith and his fluid bullpen situation
1:00
Paul Sporer: I think that’s fair. You might be able to shop higher, but if you’re comfortable w/German, it works. He’s always got that HR risk, but the upside is still strong when he’s on

Hank Scorpio: Hey Paul, thanks as always for the chat. 12tm 6×6 roto. I have a trade on the table currently: my Schwarber/Monty for their Cease/Teoscar. The other team is asking for F. Peralta instead of Monty, but I think it works as is and it becomes too like for like. What are your thoughts in either direction? I can afford to give up Schwarber since I have Muncy, I was just really hoping Teoscar got moved yesterday to no avail. Need Avg, RBI, R, XBH on offense; pretty much everything in pitching
1:01
Paul Sporer: Totally agree re: it becoming pointless to shift Monty to Peralta with respect to Ks specifically

Sam: Is it time to drop Springer? 10 man h2h 5×5 league, other options include Muncy, Kwan, B Lowe
The chart includes their season performance, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness over the last 30 days, my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues, and then a note about them. Obviously, there are league sizes beyond those three so it’s essentially a shallow, medium, deep. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s basically a risky stream for those spots.
These are general recommendations, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. This is for standard 5×5 roto leagues. The thresholds for H2H starts are generally lower, especially in points leagues so I thought there would be more value focusing on roto.

Update: Minutes after posting I saw that Lucas Giolito was traded to the Angels. This could spell trouble for my guy Silseth! Obviously he should still start tomorrow, but I’m a lottt less bullish on his fantasy prospects in the immediate future than I was just 10 minutes ago. If we’re being honest, it should be Tyler Anderson getting removed given his struggles this year. Well… maybe not. He has a 3.99 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 18% K-BB in his last 6 outings and of course he brings gifts and a various assortment of veteran presents. Enjoy the Detroit start with Silseth, but stay tuned to the news on whether or not he remains in the rotation afterwards.

Guest: is Ty France hurt still/again? he’s barely been a 1 cat contributor (runs) in any format YTD
1:02
Paul Sporer: Yeah he’s been rough. Not sure he’s a must-hold anywhere right now

Paul Sporer: Sometimes guys play through injury and we don’t learn about it until the end of the year bc they don’t want to make excuses

Ben: H2H keepers – I know flags fly forever, but would you move three years of minimum priced elly (auction league – $3) for tatis, yordan and gausman? with the increased weekly variance of H2H i’m more hesitant than if it was a roto league.
1:04
Paul Sporer: If you don’t think the upgrades from who you have to Gaus & Yordan (we can call Tatis/Elly even-ish) then I’m OK passing, but it’s the right kind of offer to get someone like Elly
