Paul Sporer’s Baseball Chat – June 12th, 2024

Thanks for coming out!!

1:03

Paul Sporer: Hello everyone!! Thanks for coming out!

1:03

Why not Zoidberg?: Shallow H2H – Caballero and Pablo Lopez hit waivers. Are you dropping J Ortiz, Langford, or Neris for any of them?

1:07

Paul Sporer: I’m all over Pablo Lopez for sure. Even in a shallow lg, I don’t love that cut. Caballero for Ortiz could be fine if you really need SBs

1:07

AL OBP league: Bliss vs. Manzardo?

1:08

Paul Sporer: Slight Manzo lean

1:08

MS: Pablo rest of 1H lines up Col, TBR, at Oak, at Sea, Hou, at CWS….is it now or never?

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Pardon me for missing the morning timeframe, but here’s my look at the 2-step guys this week. Let me know if you have any questions about anyone. I know it’s tough to bench guys who’ve been killing it, but I gotta sit Lugo and Singer with this devastating 2-step.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Even the two guys with a single “x” on Friday have a modicum of appeal in deeper leagues. I’ve always been a Canning guy and Lorenzen v. SFG isn’t completely off the table for consideration.

Some risk with a few of the higher end options today, but sometimes ya gotta hold your nose and run with ’em.

Paul Sporer’s Baseball Chat – June 5th, 2024

Transcript is now live!

1:11

Paul Sporer: Thanks for coming out, sorry I’m late! My gf is having computer issues and I lost track of time when we were putting it back together (for the third time… it’s not going well w/the fixes unfortunately) — post-chat update: it’s working again for now!!

1:14

MochiBetts: at what point do we start to become concerned about the ball from a hitting POV this year and how do we integrate it into how we value the middle tier pitchers having better years?

1:15

Paul Sporer: It’s already part of the equation for me and definitely hurts those mid-tier power guys who’s wall scrappers are now just F7s, F8s, and F9s in the scorebook. I wouldn’t overreact to it, but I’d lower my expectations of those guys in the 12-20ish HR range

1:15

Idiotic Failson: Are you starting Rodon against Minny tonight? They’re just sneaky good enough to make me nervous. I don’t NEED the innings.

1:16

Paul Sporer: I’m starting him mostly everywhere https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/starting-pitcher-chart-june-5th-2024/ but if you really don’t need the innings and fear a bomb, I don’t object to a sit.

1:16

Paul Sporer: The recos are always general and then your specific details can change the calculus
