Quick edit: Jung hurt his left, non-throwing / front when batting, shoulder this spring. Foot fracture was spring 2021. I think MLB cup of coffee would be good for his development and Ranger fans, but a shoulder tempers my fantasy expectations more than a foot.

Thoughts on what the Rangers front office said today? That Jung is not an imminent call up. Stashing in a 14 team keeper and hoping he gets called up soon.

Some context around Rosario that is missing here – yes, his wRC+ is 122. However, he’s 9th in the PCL in OPS, and all 8 of the players above him are 25 or older, and only one of them is also in his first year in AAA. Rosario has been the most impressive “rookie” in the PCL by a comfortable stretch, and has outperformed more notable prospects like Heliot Ramos, Shea Langeliers, and Miguel Vargas. This builds on a solid track record of a 103 wRC+ in A+ as a 19 year old, and a 118 wRC+ in AA as a 21 year old.

I dare say he’d be much more highly regarded by the prospecting community were it not for his size.

Let me preface this by saying I didn’t listen to the entire pod and I apologize if there was some sort of qualifier that eliminates him, but no Corbin Carroll? 21 bombs and 30 SB with something like a ~155 wRC+ across AA and AAA while still only 21. He is simply outmatching the competition at every level and has to at least get a cup of coffee, right?

It’s a small sample so tough to say for sure, but Carroll’s “struggles” against lefties could be what is making Arizona hesitant and something they want him to have a full offseason to work on? A 35.7% K-rate on the same hand side and a .766 OPS are not huge flags, but definitely room for improvement.
