Corey Kluber dominance has been astounding to watch. I’m rostering him today on more than one team.

Brandon McCarthy will oppose Kluber, and he’s in the midst of a nice run, thanks in part to tinkering with his pitch mix, as Drew Fairservice noted. Of course, he wasn’t as bad as his traditional numbers said in the first place.

Ubaldo Jimenez makes his return today, and considering how terrible he’s been this season, targeting him makes more than a little sense. Kolten Wong and Matt Adams seem like good options, considering their platoon advantages.

And feel free to target Edwin Jackson, too.

Late: Everyone else

Eric Stults’ home run issues might not be a huge problem tonight, given PNC’s ability to stifle right handed power, but Pittsburgh has some interesting options. Starling Marte is my man in that lineup tonight.

Alfredo Simon has to keep regressing, right? In his last four starts, Simon has posted a 5.06 ERA, which is much closer to his season FIP than his low-3 ERA.

Trevor Cahill is in Ubaldo’s boat, in the sense that he’s been terrible all season. The Rockies, even without Troy Tulowitzki, are plenty scary, especially in Chase Field.

Tanner Roark, whom Dave wrote about earlier this week, is facing the Braves tonight. And their offense is pretty embarrassing at the moment. They’ve posted a .301 wOBA as a team this season, but they’ve been even worse lately – last night’s outburst aside. Seriously, what is it with Strasburg and Turner Field?

Clay Buchholz has been lost all season. At this point, it almost seems unfair to make him pitch against the Angels, but it’s happening.

Lastly, Trevor May will be making his debut tonight. In the minors, he’s blended a lot of strikeouts with a few walks, all while sprinkling in a good amount of groundballs. He’s an interesting pitcher going forward, depending on how many innings he’s allowed to throw, but I’d probably stay away tonight, since he’s facing on the best offensive teams in the league.

2. Tomorrow

Pitcher(s) to Start

Zack Wheeler draws Philadelphia tomorrow. Very quietly, Wheeler is having a solid season. His strikeouts have been up and his walks have been down, although they’re still a little high. Only the Cubs and the Padres have been worse than Philly versus right handed pitching this season.

Pitcher(s) to Exploit

Remember when Mark Buehrle was going to cruise towards 20 wins? He’s fallen on hard times of late, posting a 4.82 FIP since June 1. You don’t need much of a reason to use Detroit’s offense, but Buehrle’s struggles should help fuel the fire.

Travis Wood is facing Tampa Bay, and while that might not seem like a daunting task, it is. The Rays have been the sixth best offense in the majors this season versus left handed pitching.

3. Weather

It supposed to be a pretty day pretty much everywhere, except for Atlanta, which has a greater than 70% chance of bad weather. (Yay, I live there. Cool.)  Other than that, only Cincinnati really has anything in their forecast, and it’s only a 30% chance of something going awry.

Why didn’t I know you live in Atlanta? I just moved away from there in March.
