Jeff Zimmerman: Thanks and Assad, Crawford, Sears. Sears has been horrible during the second half of the season.

Chris: What’s your lean for my last Pitcher slot for this week? AChapman, MBrash, or AAbbott?

Jeff Zimmerman: Brash

Cracking the WHIP: I’ve got a 1.25 whip and want it lower. Better to add a reliever (Poche?) a starter (Littel?) or no one and let it sit?

Jeff Zimmerman: Reliever but you can’t really drop it much at this point.

Carl: Should I pick up a first basement to start over Encarnacion-Strand? Best available are Wade, H. Ramirez, Tellez, Votto, or Calhoun

Jeff Zimmerman: That group isn’t much of an improvement.

Mike: Do trust Ian Hamilton or Matthew Liberatore if I need an SP/RP reliever for holds (or wins).  Liberatore seems much better as a reliever, but a small sample size, and Hamilton is coming back from injury.

Elliot: Have one pickup left going into championship week. Should I use it on Josiah Gray (likely pitching against CWS) or use it on a second bench bat?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably a bat but tough to know without your league settings

Very Deep Leagues: PSA:  Kyle Farmer (short side platoon) faces ~4 LHP this week and has a couple of dingers recently. For those in 20 team leagues or draft and holds with a ton of injuries.

Points!: Gurriel is raking but only has 5 games. Too cute to replace him with a rando that has more games for the final week?

Jeff Zimmerman: I would look to see who is around. The Brewers have 7 games and are facing some weak starters. I like Canha if available.

Jeff Zimmerman: They set him up to throw the first game of the playoffs. He should have 2 more starts to end the season.

Chris: Follow up on my last question as I’m seeing a lot of Assad love in the chat. Who would you prefer in a daily league, MBrash or Assad?

Jeff Zimmerman: It depends on your needs. Tough to know with zero context.

Brantley / Laureano: How much of $35 left should be bid on either in AL only (Straw, Dylan moore or maybe IKF would be dropped)

Jeff Zimmerman: Half, you need to spend it sometime.

Next Sunday: How many $ should I save for next week in a roto 5×5 with no $0 moves?  I’ve been shooting for 5 bucks=5 bids.

Jeff Zimmerman: I might go for $8 if reasonable. Remember you might be able to drop several members of your staff if you aren’t going to use them.

Jeff Zimmerman: Also, it’s going to be a tough start with several teams with just 5 games.

Nick: Is Skubal going to be @LAD or @OAK? Sources contradict themselves.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m pretty sure it’s Oakland because Olson has been confirmed for WED according to Rotowire.

Fighting for fifth: Who do you like best the rest of the way, Kelenic, Moncada or Ceddanne? Thanks for your guidance all year!

Jeff Zimmerman: Ceddanne for some upside, Moncada is the safe bet

Nick: Thanks for doing these Sunday night chats, Jeff. It’s been very helpful all season long! Philosophical question: how much FAAB dollars to you like to save for final week? just throw it all in this week, or save a certain amount for the end game.

Jeff Zimmerman: The last week will be more important than this one, I’ve always found the need to do more then.

Does Chewbacca use TP?: Do pitchers going on the second leg of a double header statistically perform better or worse on average? Is there something to take advantage here or is the effect trivial?

Jeff Zimmerman: No idea. Possibly a good catcher could make a difference

Guest: Is Pepiot going on Tuesday & Sunday, or just on Wednesday?

Jeff Zimmerman: No idea but the matchups are nice even if he is at COL next week.

Nick: Have you bought back in on Rodon? Would you trust him in the last week @KC?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not but he might be one of the better available options.

Jeff Zimmerman: Soler, the Marlins will still be playing for something.

Nolan: OBP & OPS League, How would you rank for the following: Santander, Arenado, C. Santana and India? Thank you so much. Considering the recent performance & motivation (for playoff), it seems Arenado is the one to be cut. Your advice will be much appreciated.

On the Schneid-er: The bloom may be coming off Davis Schneider. Dump for Ceddanne or Vierling?

Jeff Zimmerman: I still prefer Schneider

Greeney: H2H Championship Week. Pitching categories = W/L/K/ERA/WHIP. Do you think it’s worth it to go for a 2 start guy and get the volume while possibly sacrificing ratios? Best 2 start guys available are probably J Assad and JP Sears. Do either them feel worth the risk to you?

Jeff Zimmerman: You might see what your opponent might do and their talent. If your balanced staff will lose on average, so with an unbalanced approach to get some categories.

Arms Dealing: Curious about a couple pitchers unranked in your (essential!) WW piece: Bailey Ober (likely @CIN) or Bello (Texas). Thanks!

Jeff Zimmerman: You can hopefully find someone better but maybe not in deeper formats.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m out. He’s shown nothing. I have him valued as a 4.54 ERA guy. There are worse options out there.

TriplesAlley: Where do Quintana and Mikolas fit among the SPs in this week’s waiver column? Thanks for all the help.

Jeff Zimmerman: I can’t recommend either one even nothing Quintana is on a hot streak.

Jeff Zimmerman: There is no one, the leagues have IL options so Houser wasn’t even an option.

Jeff Zimmerman: Both are looking at starting only 50% of the time. I might look into the rookies on Boston, Jacob Young, or Xavier Edwards.

Nick: Can you confirm when Pepiot is starting? Different source say either Tue or Wed and it has major implications because Tue would give 2 starts. Thanks in advance.

Jeff Zimmerman: All I know is that RW Bolds the starts when confirmed and they have Monday bolded with Lynn and Wed with Miller, so i’m guessing Tuesday for Pepiot.

Jeff Zimmerman: Pepiot won’t throw on Wed.

Mike: Who do you trust more between Hunter Greene, Eury Perez, or Bobby Miller if you don’t care about Ks.  Bobby seems most likely for a win, but the Dodgers may be mostly resting players, Hunter Greene has a homer hitting team at Great American, and Eury seems like he may be wearing down a bit.

Playing Time: Any expectations re playing time for rockies? Bryant worth playing this week? Hunter Goodman a drop?

Jeff Zimmerman: Goodman is a drop and Bryant is an OK add. might only start in 3 out of 4 games.

Roi: Any word on plans for Braves or Dodgers resting starters?

Jeff Zimmerman: They won’t rest them, they will keep throwing but may not go deep into the game.

O’Hearn: Thoughts on O’Hearn for next week? Orioles look to be facing 6 righties
