Just how Littell?: You giving up Cobb for Littell? 
Also, short bench… are you hanging onto Franco for now?

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe another week on Franco but I’d drop him

Ben: Where would Bryan Woo and Cristpoher Sanchez rank in your waiver wire pitchers? Would they be above Littell?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes.

Mike: Tork wasn’t in your morning waiver wire report.  Where do you place him relative to Carpenter, Gelof, Winn, etc.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s way above them IMO.

2024: Saw you prefer Marte to Winn ROS.  What about for 2024 and beyond?  Thx in advance.

Jeff Zimmerman: I have no clue how they’ll age. I assume no aging and would go with Marte.

Rocky Top: The BATX seems pretty high on Brendan Rodgers – how would you rank Tovar, Blackmon, Rodgers ros?

Jeff Zimmerman: They are close so in a roto, focus on the categories you need.

Dan: Any thoughts on who’ll replace Gonsolin in the LAD rotation?

Jeff Zimmerman: Consider it an opportunity missed. Another is already here. Pepiot was the 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader but very well could be sticking around. Tony Gonsolin’s season is likely over. Roberts pointed to Pepiot, along with Stone and Ryan Yarbrough, as one of the prime candidates to fill that rotation spot. Pepiot is healthy and threw the ball well Saturday following opener Caleb Ferguson, showing some of the refinement that made his spring so intriguing. He went five innings of one-run ball, striking out five and notably walking just one over a tidy 75 pitches while showing another sign of growth — a real feel for a third pitch, a consistent slider that catcher Austin Barnes said was his best pitch of the afternoon.

Pepiot, Roberts said, looked “completely different” than he did a year ago, when he had a 3.47 ERA in nine outings but clearly struggled with efficiency and command.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d go with Blackburn since he has the Mon-Sat combo and Clevinger needs have nothing go wrong to make his Sunday start

Jeff Zimmerman: 10% chance for a huge Septemeber … pretty much the same as any hitter. We’ll have to see. I saw the MLB.com had an article on him. It might say something.

Jjjeffreyyy: Thanks for all the chats and advice, Jeff! Much appreciated. Super deep AL-only. OBP for hitters. QS+Ws instead of Ws and K/9 instead of Ks for Ps. Currently in first and hoping to play my add drops right to stay there. 2 questions: (1) Ohoppe or Wong ROS. (Less pressing, but Ohoppe could be kept for $4 next season, Wong for $5); (2) who are you dropping out of Canning, Silseth and Littrell to activate Rodon?

Jeff Zimmerman: 2) right now, I have the other three arms higher than Rodon. Now, Canning might not be the rotation, so he could be dropped.

Needs Saves: Are you holding Helsley in OCs? My team needs saves the most as a category, but I could snag Woo Lodolo or Littell for more SP depth

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d grab the SP for now. I’m a little surprised you don’t have Saves on the wire. Team that have locked up their spot are now dropping closer. I have Clay Holmes on the wire in one of my leagues.

Guest: Hey Jeff, how do you prefer to divide your bench spots between pitchers and hitters? Assuming you’re not chasing specific hitting/pitching categories down the stretch of the season, does how you divide your bench spots change at all for the final few weeks?

Jeff Zimmerman: NFBC with no IL and assuming everyone is healthy, 5 pitchers (1-2 closers or closer specs), 2 hitters. I find it hard to stream off the WW so I try to stream off my bench

Jeff Zimmerman: No, most are a pain because they take playing time away from other regulars.

Scott Barlow: My last six innings have been flawless. Am I back and worth adding in deep holds leagues?

The rodon less traveled: Would you start Rodon in Washington?

Jeff Zimmerman: No

Salty: Since his absence wasn’t arm-based, do you think Houck may have a strong finish?  Might have to make a decision to drop one of him, Bello and Maeda for weekly H2H.  Whoever gets dropped is likely to get scooped by a playoff team.

Jeff Zimmerman: Depending on the league, Houck might not be startable against HOU and LAD. I think Houck is fine to drop and then hope to add for the KC start.

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes to all but one key factor his gLI. They need to be used in high-leverage spots. Once you find 10 or so of these guys, find the ones who didn’t throw on Sat and Sun for more spots the next week. The seven game weeks are huge

Bob: Do you think LAD protecting Kershaw for ROS/playoffs and will keep him below the 6 IP needed for QS?

Jeff Zimmerman: Innings won’t be the factor but pitches. I’d see how many they allow him to throw per game.

TooDamnTall: How many different formats do you play? I’ve found I need to keep my leagues fairly similar or I end up playing JP Sears in an 8-teamer

Jeff Zimmerman: 3, One NL only (LABR), several 15- teams with 30 man rosters, and 12 teamers with 30 man rosters.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d play more but it can’t be daily moves and I’d love it if the NFBC got rid of the Friday moves. No sane person should be checking rosters on a Friday night

Bruce Live: Concerned about Santander’s back injury.  Might need to add : Carlos Santana or Elvis Andrus ? Deep daily roto

Jeff Zimmerman: A little and I have a backup in place. I like to give most injuries a week to get a full answer.

TooDamnTall: Do you have a weakness in fantasy? Mine would be writing off vets who are no longer at their peak, but still really useful.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m way too in the weeds sometimes and need to take a step back. There is a reason that the leagues I do with Tanner Bell perform better. It’s also possible he just a way better player.

Harth Owens: Blackburn (vs KC @ CWS) or Littell (v COL v NYY)?

Mike: Afraid to start Vlady or Frelick with both having potential injuries and off Monday (so likely no better information before rosters lock).

Jeff Zimmerman: The key info will be if they are in their respective lineups.

Draft vs in season?: What’s more important and are they separate skills?

Jeff Zimmerman: Inseason by far. Just going with ADP will give people a competitive team.

Jeff Zimmerman: Now, I think they need to mesh. If a manager hates grinding for Saves, draft two closers. If a manager can spot pitchers, go heavy on hitters during the draft.

Jeff Zimmerman: I know a very good player who spent days prepping for his drafts one year and once the season was over, he found that he would have performed just as well using ADP

Jason: How do you feel about punting on categories? Like if I go with pivetta and Kikuchi as my relievers instead of chasing save/holds?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’ve been punting Saves in a league since the ASG when I was over a dozen behind the second to last guy and then 10 behind the next guy.
