Jeff Zimmerman: At this point, half of what I have as long I could make 2-4 moves per week ROS

need saves: What’s your read on the Cards closer situation?  Gallegos, JoJo, or no one because Helsley is about to return?

Jeff Zimmerman: Nightmare … in one league, I might have all three by the end of the night. I can’t get a read on it.

NFBCOC12s: How much faab for gavin williams

Jeff Zimmerman: At this point, most of it. Again, leaving enough money for the token 2 to 4 moves.

Idles of Marsh: Quick question – If Jorge Polanco were available, would you add him?

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe. In 12’s, it depends on what I need. Also, Lewis is on his way back so the playing time might be in Jeopardy.

Buck: What do you expect of Vientos ROS and how n 2024?  Ty.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think he has legit MLB power. He has to start showing some plate discipline. 3% BB%, 29% K%.

Clay: Hello Jeff,  I’m in a 5×5 12 team mixed roto league single season.  I have Ranger Suarez on my roster. Considering dropping him for either Cole Ragans or Graham Ashcraft.  What would you recommend? Littell and Matz have been scooped up previsouly.

Jeff Zimmerman: I would take a chance on Ragans being the best pitcher. That said, I like the context of the other in getting Wins. If you need those Wins go with Suarez or Ashcraft

Guest: Oh Lord I’m in a 10 team AL only, in 1st place and I have Wander Franco. My options are Andrus, Nick Allen, and Pablo Reyes.

Jeff Zimmerman: Andrus by a large margain

Elwood Blues: Harvey or Finnegan. Who’s the closer this year? Next?

Jeff Zimmerman: Finnegan and probably someone else the next season.

Rand: Story and Heim are available in my Main. Any guesses on what they go for tonight?

Jeff Zimmerman: Story’s bid will be based on how much the hammer has compared to other teams.There could be some big bids.

Jeff Zimmerman: As for Heim, I’m staying away. He still needs surgery so I’m not expecting hi to be his old self.

Frank: Who do you like more next year Jorge Polanco or Ober (Need to cut one in a keeper)

Jeff Zimmerman: Ober

Percy Miracles: Anything there in Allan Winans?

Jeff Zimmerman: A little. His fastball is trash. Barely 90 mph. His change and slider/curve are at least average, maybe above average. Matchup dependent.

Twelfth!: Was in deep last after starting with Trea and a horrible no good first 2 pitching months, but I’ve still been hitting the waiver wire every damn week and am about to knock (at least) the 10th & 11th guys into the cellar in the next few weeks. Gotta grind it out!

Jeff Zimmerman: Yep. I have a team that was within a couple spots of being last in the NFBC OC overall (over 2000 teams). I’m just about to crack the top half of the overall. Huge gains can be made.

Guest: Littell at SF or Ragans at CHC ?
also, you still buying into Ragans being almost a must start?

Jeff Zimmerman: Littel and not close. Ragans isn’t a must-start but a must-roster. Some weeks he’s going to be one of the best available options

I Wander: Is whatever will happen to Franco likely to happen this week, or can I wait to back him up?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably in stages. CYA to start with and then either the hammer or nothing

RGM: Do you have a preference between Brandon Lowe or gelof in a 5×5 obp?

Jeff Zimmerman: Gelof seems to play more

Jim: Hi Jeff, best closer candidate for rest of season saves who is not currently closing in your opinion.

Martin: Any interest in Andres Gimenez ROS? 16 tm league and he seems like he’s heating up a bit

Jeff Zimmerman: He should already be rostered in a 16-teamer.

Sponge Bob Square Balls: Is Zack Gelof Oakland’s Matt Mclain? You believe in him?

Jeff Zimmerman: They aren’t the same. McLain is using a more ideal 12-14 degree LA for AVG and HR. Gelof is up at 18 degrees which will only be HR.

BSLBobby: Any thoughts on Jack Suwinski? His current slump doesn’t seem like anything he’s done before with his Swing% and K% way way up… yet his SwStrk% and Hard Hit% and Barrel% are all fairly normal, his Z-contact% is sky high, and he’s carrying a super low BABIP lately. Hold in 15 teamers?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s going to bounce around like most power hitters. I’m holding where I can afford the AVG hit

SP: Canning over Litell, yeah?

Jeff Zimmerman: I have it the other way

Dave: How would you rate Elder, Abbott, Quintana, Lugo, Suarez for ROS, NL only?

Jeff Zimmerman: Abbott, Lugo …. don’t care and go off the week’s matchup

First!: In a 5×5, what’s the strategy for holding a slim lead?  GO conservative or just keep on trucking? No innings limits, doing fine in all cats.

Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t change anything. Just keep going.

Jeff Zimmerman: One issue at this point in the season is that some teams will start going all in a category. In one league, I’ve dumped Saves. There is no way I’m not going to win both K’s and Wins. Just know if you want to keep a balanced approach, so focused teams will pass you in the standings.

Detmers: Panic level after that last ratio nuclear bomb of a start? Should I Reid anything into it?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m dropping him in several leagues. He’s just the second-worst starter (Morton has been horrible) on all my teams as a 4.67 ERA talent.

Johnny5Alive: Someone dropped Christopher Sanchez after his 6 run start and I grabbed him. I know they’re going 6 man for the time being, but what do you think about him ROS and potentially beyond?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s good and hasn’t shown any signs of regression

Bob: Do you still like Kutter Crawford?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes

Guest: Is masyn Winn worth adding in standard 5×5 rotisserie?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure what the Cards will do

AL Only 5×5: Is Jankowski a drop or hold in AL only – was batting 2nd consistently but Heim is back now and a crowded lineup?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’ll end up as a drop. I’m not sure who is available as a replacement

D’OH!: Do I need to pick up a backup SS for Wander now?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d have one in place for the week.

TX Guest: In a single C 12 teamer, would you prefer MJ Melendez, Y.Diaz, G.Sanchez, or a Garver/Hein platoon?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure, he just got hurt. I’m going with Doyle instead.

Jeff Zimmerman: Canning or Ragans. I’d do Canning … probably

Jeff Zimmerman: I just looked at my projections. I have Canning as a 4.43 ERA talent and Ragans as a 4.06 talent.

Jeff Zimmerman: FYI, if I go silent for a bit, I’ll try to get back as soon as possible. Lots of lighting in the area. If the power flashes on and off, I’ll have to wait for my router to reset.

Salty: I like T Thompson as a sneaky add, especially with games in Colorado this week.  Am I suffering from a bad case of wishful thinking?

Chris: Where would you rank Tyler O’Neill for next week, above Jake Bauers?

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe. I need to see how his latest injury is doing. I’ve stayed away because he’s frustrating to deal with.

Cris Sanchez: Is this dude still in the rotation or what? He’s at 108 IP — already 11 over 2022 total

Jeff Zimmerman: They are going six-man and most teams let a guy 30 to 40 IP over his previous season.

equist: Hancock vs Ragan?

Jeff Zimmerman: Ragans and the first mention of Hancock.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m interested in Hancock but not going to pay up for him. The walks are out of control and the strikeouts are elite. Personally, I have Jesse Scholtens ranked higher.

Bruce Live 2023: Pick One for Saves: Gallegos or Jason Foley ? Thanks

JT: Justin Turner hit a couple of homers this weekend, but he has an injury that espn said would normally keep a player out a month. Would you drop for Meneses or Ty France in a 12-team OBP league?

Jeff Zimmerman: I would for France. It sounds like Turner might play through it but I’m sure he’ll have off days. Get the sure thing with the season on the line.

John: Seth Brown or Alec Burleson ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think Burleson

BSLBobby: If you were in a pinch, would you drop Musgrove, Eovaldi or Greene to free up roster space? Our league has 3 IL spots, but I’m overflowing right now. Buxton and Alvarado (jussst about back) are the others crowding me right now but fill roles I need (OF, HLD). Nothing on the wire requiring immediate attention, so just thinking ahead.

Jeff Zimmerman: There has to be a MR to add instead of Alvarado … but of the three, I’d drop Eovaldi

Wells: Any reason to hold?  I see he only pitched 3 innings in the minors and the Os using a 6 man

Jeff Zimmerman: God no, move on. He has some major issues going on.

Cshashe Shilsheltsh: How much playing time do we expect Mitch Garver to get now that Heim is back?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think there will be a decent amount. There is also a chance Heim just can’t make a go of it.

Tony: In the dog days of August, how much of this is a job you’re grinding away at and how much is fun?

Jeff Zimmerman: Usually, I hit two walls during the summer but not this year. I cut the number of leagues I have in half from last year. I might even cut more. The next two weeks are tough without the trade deadline. In Sept the grind starts with more churning and roster expansion.

Bobby: Nolan Jones in at home this week and he’s facing a slate of RHP. Think

Jeff Zimmerman: I figured he would be sucked up in most leagues.

Bobby: Jake Burger–Do you think it’s the change of scenery and league that seems to improved his batting eye? He’s rolling in Miami at the moment.

Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure but his power isn’t dependent on how far back are fences. I’m just happy he’s healthy and can contribute

Tellez: Expect that bat to be Rowdy ROS?  Need power

Jeff Zimmerman: We’ll see. I project Rivas to be a better overall hitter. The playing time will get dicey.

Jeff Zimmerman: If daily, Marlowe and could be paired with Calzone. I think both are legit hitters and should be regulars soon.

Mike: Kerry Carpenter a ROS option at this point, particularly now that he seems to be stating against lefties?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s been an option for about 2 months

KCbbq: Does Silseth stay in the rotation ros….in 2024?

Jeff Zimmerman: They will go 5-man when Ohtani leaves this winter and he looks to be one fo the five best options.

KCbbq: Would you start Baez or Royce Lewis next week in 12 team AL only 5×5 H2H keeper league using OBP. Baez on bereavement and Lewis may come back next week (Tue?)
