Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure at all. I’m focusing more on the possible impact of the trade deadline. Who takes Candelario’s spot in WAS once he’s traded? Who is all going in the Mets bullpen?

Jason: I picked up Votto a few weeks back but he’s been a bit streaky. Would you recommend starting him or Yandy Diaz this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d use whatever Razz says as long as both are starting on Monday …

Jason: What are your expectations for Encarnacion-Strand moving forward?

Jeff Zimmerman: Tempered but the comps are amazing.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s getting there. I traded for him in an NL-only league for Albies.

Diamond Twins: With Polanco coming back and Julien hot, will Willi Castro (once his conjunctivitis heals) and/or Solano get enough PT to matter in AL Only?

Jeff Zimmerman: You need to stream the position using some weekly ranks. There isn’t one answer.

Pfaadt: Am I going to get burned by him again? Supposedly, the DBacks worked with him to change where he throws off the rubber. Could it make a difference?

Jeff Zimmerman: Neither, but I guess Kemp. He’ll at least play but it’s only 5 games this week. I’d look to the OF for someone like Jankowski

Funky Cold Medina: Medina had a nice line today. Would you move him into your WW list or still not?

Jeff Zimmerman: I might roster and bench him. I’d like to see him put together 3 good starts.

Blame the Singer not the Song: Brady Singer has been all over. Where would he rank on your (always super useful!) WW list? AL Only.

Jeff Zimmerman: He has been better and I have him as a 4.00 ERA pitcher over the last three weeks.

Jeff Zimmerman: There are worse guys out there. I’d put him just above the MR cutoff

Everyday Eddie: I know folks are willing to blow their entire FA wad on me this week, but will I play everyday RoS? For some reason, Rocco has only given me 20 ABs vs. lefties.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s in a hard platoon and I don’t expect it to change.

Roi: Lost Seager for 2 weeks with the dreaded thumb slide.  I can slide Mookie to SS, but looking at best waiver option to back-fill that OF slot then until Seager returns.  What is the preferred order out of M Moniak, C McCormick, T Ward, A Hays, and J Outman.

Jeff Zimmerman: Nice options.

Jeff Zimmerman: McCormick and Hays right now. I’m a little worried about how the playing time will shake out in HOU once Alvarez returns.

Michael King: 12 Team AL Only, saves plus holds league. I’ve got $51 (100 budget). How much should I bid on Michael King to replace Kevin Kelley?  (I’ve got Clay Holmes, Felix Bautista, Jax and Jason Foley and others on the wire are Nick Pivetta, Trevor Stephan, Eli Morgan, Nick Sandlin, Mayza)

Jeff Zimmerman: Couple dollars but I might focus on Pivetta instead unless you really need those Holds

John: Hey Jeff. Has Braxton Garrett turned back into a pumpkin? Ashcroft, Ryu, and L Allen are all available. Thank you

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s been worse (4.15 ERA talent over the last three weeks) but the other options aren’t that much better. Of them, I’d go with Allen.

Rodon: Hi. Hoping to get your help! Currently have Rodon in my line up. Pitcher categories are tight and in need of wins and K’s. Would you put Rodon on the bench this week and pick up either Maeda or T Allen for a two start week?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yep, that is exactly my approach this week.

Johnny5Alive: This was not a great week for my nl only pitching staff – Keller, Montgomery, Garrett all got bombed. Gallen has looked human recently too… By RP have been carrying me. Just a blip or should I be concerned?

Jeff Zimmerman: Just a blip IMO. Scoring will be up with the hotter weather.

JT: My two relievers are Estevez and Evan Phillips but they haven’t gotten many saves or holds lately. I just added Tyler Rogers. Is there a strategy to relievers or am I just throwing darts at the board?

Jeff Zimmerman: I just stick with my closers because who knows when a 4 Save week will come. That said, if you can pick up additional closers, you can stream them attacking the 7 game weeks and sitting during the 5 game weeks.

Jeff Zimmerman: If your team isn’t competitive, keep him. Otherwise try to sell for someone that will help you this season.

Guesto: Cowser over-matched or unlucky?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably some of both.

Lucas: Who are some of the top “wish i added him before the deadline” guys?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s so tough to know. Several teams sound like they’ll trade everyone in their bullpen (e.g. Mets) so it is tough to guess who will remain. One year all the setup men got traded.

Jeff Zimmerman: I like the idea of targeting SP’s on the move like Lorenzen or Blackburn.

bart: Is David Peterson a viable 15 team bench streamer ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: No

Guestish: Alzolay seems to settled in. E.Cabrera, Woo, or Manoah to much to give for him?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes for this week. Make sure he still have a job after the trade deadline

Guest: With some obvious regression baked in, what can we expect from Tyler Wells in the second half?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s nearing the cut list for me.

Jeff Zimmerman: His been horrible recently (5.79 ERA, 6.04 xFIP in July). He’s lost all his control with the strikeouts down and walks up.

Jeff Zimmerman: His K%-BB% by month

Chris: Should I hold Kutter Crawford on my bench this week or cut for Logan Allen (would bench a closer for the 2start)?

Jeff Zimmerman: That’s tough. I think Kutter is the answer.

Daniel Bardo Pond: Eovaldi is having his next start skipped and is lined up to face SDP on Sunday. What % chance would you place on him actually making that Sunday start?

Jeff Zimmerman: 70%

CES $: I’m not getting this dude for less than $100 this week in any format, am I?  More than G-Rod I think.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think it depends. On some of my teams, I have the corners and Util filled so I’m ignoring him. It would be him or Josh Naylor. Also, I think the amount of money left in the league matters. I think the range will be wide.

LFC Mike: Lettuce not talk about Cabbage , but your thoughts on if Silseth can get in LAA rotation. Thank you .

Jeff Zimmerman: I like Silseth as an add if Ohtani gets moved. He’s got his next start set, so add and see how the week shakes out.

Frank: Any sneaky players to try and target now that can get some SBs after some players are traded and roles change?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure but I bet they come from the minors after some trades. We’ll know more next week.

Michael: Believer in Carlos Hernandez if his role or team improves

Jeff Zimmerman: Not really. Cromulent reliever.

Greg: 15 Team NFBC, would you rather have Encarnacion-Strand over either Torkelson or Candelario rest of season?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d prefer Tork. Candelario is a gamble. He could go an anchor a team’s 3B position (i.e. Yankees) or be a part-time or bench bat. I’d probably go with CES but knowing that I could miss out on an upgrade to Candelario.

NFBC OC12s: Suzuki is heating up, can he be had for less than $20?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not if I was in the league.

Jeff Zimmerman: Tough to know without seeing the league’s financials

Vader: You think Abrams can keep it up?

Jeff Zimmerman: Possibly, I like what I’m seeing. I’m just worried the power will never come

Jeff Zimmerman: $20. That gives you about $5 per week for moves.

WOO-ha!: I have 10 starting pitchers but NONE of them are going on Wed. or Thur. this week, meaning none of them will have 2 starts the following week. WTF

Jeff Zimmerman: We’ll get some clarification after the deadline. He could be on the move for the right bat (low chance but he’s not untouchable).

Jose: Is Kelenic a drop even in Dynasty at this point?

Jeff Zimmerman: redraft, sure. With dynasty, it depends on the rules.

Guest: 15 Team 5 OF league. Kepler, Cabbage and… Burleson all avaiable. Drop Dane Myers for any of them?

Jeff Zimmerman: For Cabbage if you need power and speed

Vader: I’m thinking of picking up Buehler in a 12 team H2H as one of my 5 keepers for next year. Think he can be close to 100% for 2024?

Jeff Zimmerman: I would not trust him being 100%.

Tony on the Mic: Do you think Nick Lodolo will be able to log any more starts this season?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes but it could be short starts if they are fighting for the playoffs and don’t have time for rehab starts.

Jerome: I have more injured guys than IL spots. Worth keeping Tellez stashed on IL or should I move on in 12 team mixed w/OPS instead of BA? He was UTIL/backup 1B for me when healthy.
