Jeff Zimmerman: He’s a must-add in 12-team mixed leagues, so gold in an AL-only

Adam Frazier from Cheers: Am I rosterable if you don’t need BA? What’s my purpose?

Jeff Zimmerman: I like him as a bench bat to fill in for injured or still hitters.

Percy Miracles: Hi Jeff, is it time to cut Sonny Gray in a QS league? His ratios are poor, he walks a lot of guys, and has a hard time getting through 5 innings. Would you drop him for middle relievers like Chad Green or Whitlock?

Jeff Zimmerman: I probably wouldn’t but I can understand the fustration.

Guest: I’m hanging on to first place and killing it in every category but steals. Waiver is robust since the deadline has passed—would you drop Franco for any of Edman, Fletcher, or Straw? Thank you.

AL Guy: As a KC fan, what are your thoughts on Carlos Hernandez ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: good stuff but no control. A poor man’s Blake Snell

Schilling and Pence: The established starters on my  waiver wire are pretty ugly, so looking to take a flyer on a good RP that might convert to SP ROS.  Cristian Javier, Michael Kopech, or someone else?

Jeff Zimmerman: You can take a shot on Rasmusem (sp?)  or Reynaldo Lopez. Both have already started the transition. Ranger Suarez is another one.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s been decent in August (.267/.358/.556) so sure.

Jeff Zimmerman: Find someone else for now.

Guest: In a H2H OBP League and looking to add Abraham Toro over Myles Straw for RBIs, but really need SBs. Toro has great sprint speed, but he’s not swiping bags like Straw. Do I chance it with Toro for that potential power/speed combo, or go with Straw?

Jeff Zimmerman: Stick with Straw if he’s stealing. Toro might not be running for several reasons.

Vader: Do you think E Hernandez could help win a title in H2H?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes … he’s my top WW starting pitcher add of the week.

Dave: Any thoughts on Yadiel Hernandez? Good batted ball stats, hit in the minors…

Jeff Zimmerman: A good, but boring hitter.

Jon: Ynoa, Elieser, or Marco Gonzales ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: Elieser after today’s start but it could end up being Ynoa

Johnny5Alive: You think Rowan wick worth a pick up in NL only? Would you drop tylor megill for him?

Jeff Zimmerman: Wick is worth an add, but you can’t drop Megill.

bruno: Are you in on H Ynoa for the stretch? He looked great early in the season but I’m not fully convinced.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m all in.

Jeff Zimmerman: His stuff was close to matching the results.

Bob: what are your thoughts on giolito? he doesn’t seem to be the same guy as last yr.

Jeff Zimmerman: Giolito hasn’t been good for a whole season in his career. He might just be wearing down.

AL Guy: AL only – any reason to hold Heaney or Yarbrough? Or go with MR options?

Jeff Zimmerman: Go with middle relievers

Jeff Zimmerman: Stay with Bellinger. He has over 1.000 OPS in August. He might finally be healthy

Guest: Would you drop Civale and/or Price for McKenzie, Suarez, P. Lopez, or D. German?

Josh: Suarez (CIN) was dropped.  12 team mixed redraft.  Is he done for ROS?  Tempted by power and SS/3B elig.  Would be replacing Smith (NYM) or Myers (SD)

Jeff Zimmerman: It might have been one of my leagues. It’s just a part-time play with and an AVG sink.

Daro: Donaldson was dropped. Is he worth a pickup at a 12 team league for a util spot?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably not. Make sure he’s playing at least 3/4 of the time.

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe with Santana going to DH. It’ll be interesting to see what the Royals do

Guest: What are your thought on Luis Torrens, seems to DH quite a bit, some first base too (besides C).  Does Seattle see something here?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t think so. He’s an option in 2-catcher leagues.

Greg: Are you believer in Reid Detmers after his start today?

Jeff Zimmerman: I saw he was decent but haven’t looked to see if anything changed.

Grish?: Is Trent Grisham hurt, or is something else going on? Mostly batting 7th/8th with poor 2nd half stats. Droppable in 10 team leagues?

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on the option when dropping. Even in 10’s, Grisham is likely better than the waiver options.

Definitely Not Matt Chapman’s Mom: Is Matt Chapman finally back to normal? Can we assume he’s a top 10 third baseman the rest of the way or is this just another heater before he gets ice cold again?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure on him. I’ve been benching in one league and need to see if there are any changes to his profile

Jeff Zimmerman: I think his profile is similar to Tim Anderson and Baez when they debut. One got the plate discipline under control. The other is a mess at the plate
