feddy: OBP league. Thinking about dropping Hunter Dozier. Alternate options are P Evans, T Shaw, R Mountcastle, J Aguilar, W Flores. Would you take any of them? Even if no, which one is the best of them?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d drop for Mountcastle

2C or not 2C: Hi Jeff. Please pick a 2nd catcher (AL OBP): Zunino, Torrens, Mejia. Thank you!

Jeff Zimmerman: Torrens and it’s not close

Matt L: Are you speculating on any rookie pitchers like Gore, Deivi Garcia, or Logan Gilbert this week in leagues where available? Injuries/demotions in front of them and could be next up after service time manipulation?

Jeff Zimmerman: I never speculate on rookie pitchers. They almost always disappoint for their costs. If it’s min bids, go ahead.

feddy: rank these MI/util options:  Z McKinstry, J Lowrie, J Profar, H Kim. Does it depend on playing time? if so how would u forecast?

Jeff Zimmerman: Lowrie, Kim, McKinstry, Profar

Fox: How cut able is Kluber?

Jeff Zimmerman: I didn’t think he was draftable. Cut away.

Enrico Palazzo: Where would you rank Mitch Keller compared to the names on your Waiver Wire Targets article, in a roto league?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not a Keller fan at all, give me a sec to eye ball it.

Jeff Zimmerman: Widener to Zimmermann area

Royal Throwers: Danny Duffy or Jakob Junis, for next few weeks?

Jeff Zimmerman: Junis for me, that new cutter is nasty

Ramie Shalabi: I need a C-Mart replacement. How hard %-wise should I go after one of Boyd, Rodon, Ynoa and/or K.H. Kim?

Jeff Zimmerman: The first two around 5%, 1% on the last two

Ramie Shalabi: Hampson or France to replace Wong?

Jeff Zimmerman: France I think. Use Hampson at home.

Jeff Zimmerman: And it is that a shallow league. Both are long gone in anything I play in.

Buyer’s Remporse?: Should we be giving up on one the healiners from last week’s chat Rojas, or hold if there is bench space?

Jeff Zimmerman: He should keep playing but it’s ugly. Hold for one more but move on next week if nothing happens.

Matt J: Should I be worried about Tommy Pham? He had a poor spring training, and hasn’t looked great yet. In addition, it appears that the SD outfield is pretty full now that Grisham is back. Am I overreacting, or is there reason for concern. At this point would I be further off going with Profar in a H2H points league?

Jeff Zimmerman: Pham should be rostered and started in all formats. It really depends on his replacement

6 Man Rotations: I feel like I heavily invested in Mariner and Angel starters and am hating the 6-man rotations. How big a problem is it in an only league?

Jeff Zimmerman: It sucks almost never getting 2 starts. Cobb does have one in two weeks.

feddy: Are starters like Matz, Hoffman, Arrieta, Cueto, and Rogers legit?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes: Matz, Hoffman Maybe: Arrieta, Cueto, Rogers

Something Brewing: Is Shaw worth buying over Mullins, Isbel, Naylor or Locastro?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not really. None really stick out so play the matchups

Charlie: Would you pick up Ginkel or Trevino or both for possibly saves and I’d be dropping Pagan of Padres and Garcia of Tigers thanks

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m in the same boat here and I’m not sure the answer.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d prioritize Trevino, but I’m not sure the right answer

Jeff Zimmerman: I did and had worse options than you.

SaberSim: Hi. Not sure if this is for you, but I always liked the sabersim leader board you guys had. I know those numbers are on individual pages, but will the overall list come back?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably not from our agreement with them.

Tinker Tailor: What’s your favorite strategy for feverishly tinkering with your bids in the hours before midnight?

Jeff Zimmerman: Host a chat so I have something else to do.

Matt: Nate Lowe worth holding in a 12 team league or ok to move on? 36 K%, 3 BB% seems to say cliff is coming.

Jeff Zimmerman: Check the matchups and replacement options, but get ready to move on.

Jeff Zimmerman: 1/week, maybe a bit less.

Desperado: Which two handcuffs get the most saves this year: T. Scott, M. Mayers, Ottavino, Doolittle, Graveman, Wittgren or Ginkel?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think Scott and Witthgren will get double-digit Saves even if the primary closer is healthy

feddy: Can you count on Byron Buxton to sustain?

Jeff Zimmerman: Has he ever? Why would he start now

feddy: on a scale from 1-10 how badly do i need to take David Dahl Brian Anderson Austin Slater Jay Bruce and Maikel Franco off my watch list

Jeff Zimmerman: 10 for all but Bruce, he could be helpful soon

Guest: How much FAAB % on Clase and Lamet in 12-team NFBC league? (context: need saves and somehow Lamet was dropped last week)

Jeff Zimmerman: At least 10% for each, possibly more

Waiting game: As I await Merrifield to qualify for 2B in my league (10 games needed this year), would you bench France come that time in order to play Margot in the vacated OF spot of Merrifield?  Or just keep rolling with the Merrifield/France combo & leave Margot on the bench?

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends if you need steals and go with Margot. Also, Margot will loose playing time once Kiermaier returns.

Unfavorite position: I of course like many wait til’ late in the game draft day to grab a catcher.  S.Murphy was the play, and he’s off to a slow start.  Any of the following catchers you would grab in place of Murphy?  Narvaez, Zunino, Barnhardt, Nunez?

Bobby: When are we seeing Kelenic?

Jeff Zimmerman: Playing time and strikeout and walk rate. Teoscar Hernandez has a 50% K%, 0% BB%. That’s bad.

feddy: Are you going to stay away from the murky DBacks closer situation? i’d expect Crichton to be the closer for the near future but it’s tough

Jeff Zimmerman: It depends on how desperate I am

Guest: Is Brandon Lowe benchable for Garret Hampson until he actually shows something.  Kind of looks lost at the plate when I’ve seen him.  At least Hampson has Coors and some speed.

Jeff Zimmerman: Hold for sure, start next time ??? I’ll need to dive into the start more

Nate: I’ve got $100/yr for FAAB, how much should I bid on Emmanuel Class?

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends if there are $0 bids. With $1, only $2 to $3, with $0 bids, those can be bumped up to $5 to $7.

ez: FAAB % on Trivino?

Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t be surprised if it takes 10% but I’d be in the 5% range

Guest: Iv’e seen Melancon ranked as high as 10th among closers.  Am I missing something?  There are at least two more talented options in that bullpen?

Jeff Zimmerman: You have to hold him around a month, maybe 5%. The problem is that injuries could hit your team and you might need to drop him

ralph: What’s your read on McKinstry? Over/under on playing 5 out of 7 games if everyone’s healthy?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s under if they are healthy. Just remember, A.J. Pollock is in the outfield

Mike H: With the call-ups looming, which player is worth stashing in a 12 team mixed keeper league Vidal Brujan or Nolan Jones? It’s the standard 5 offensive categories plus k’s, ops and hits.

Jeff Zimmerman: Jones IMO

Jeff Zimmerman: No, I think German is just going to get his start skipped and the Yankees want an extra bullpen arm

Are you buying: Thoughts on Tatis returning & producing ROS?  I was shocked seeing him taking BP after the doom & gloom a few days prior.

Jeff Zimmerman: Go and listen to the recent ESPN pod with Stephania Bell.

Jeff Zimmerman: The injury should be 4-6 weeks (or all season). He can come back right away but the injury could happen at anytime.

Joe: Pick one:  Greinke and Wheeler are on the wire in a12 team h2h categories league.

Jeff Zimmerman: What, is there like 4 teams in the league. Both

Jim: Is Ryan McMahon a must-add? I have Mountcastle, hosmer, B Lowe, merrifield, J. Ramirez, J. Turner, and Cronenworth at his eligible positions.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s only streamable at home IMO

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s going to at least take that much to get him. I’m guessing more in the $250 range

Jeff Zimmerman: From what I’ve read, he’s likely going to be in the bullpen to limit his workload. I’m not sure how he’s going to be valuable in that role

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m looking at need right now or selling from surplus. In one league I hit on 3 closers.
