Jeff Zimmerman: Middlish. I have him valued around a 4.25 to 4.50 ERA talent

Jeff Zimmerman: I hope so, the $256 bid was mine. In The Process this year, I found that AAA xFIP, with no adjustments, projects MLB ERA. A 2.18 xFIP puts him in line with the top-30 starters in the game.

Taylor: Is Ryan Walker droppable? Junis is available in my league

Jeff Zimmerman: If you can get Junis, yes drop Walker

Daniel: Streaming until I get Pep and Savage back. Who do you like better K. Montero, Davis Martin, Kohanowicz, or Civale and do you think any of these guys stick?

Jeff Zimmerman: The last three will stick, no other options, but they suck. Go with Montero

Henry: Is Wolfram for real?  40% Ks!  He seems to be the primary LHP in BAL bullpen…looking for Holds

Pete: Noah Schultz – Would you consider starting him in a 2 start week vs. TB and @ATH?  I do like that he threw a decent amount of innings last year.

Jeff Zimmerman: I would but I use just about anyone I add.

daro: So my 3b is killing me (Bohm). Would you drop him for the following options: Vientos, Baty, Dubon, Javy Baez, Urias, Norby?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not really, maybe Dubon (more bat speed)

Mike: Where would Evan Carter rank on today’s list of hitters.  He seems to be doing some things (HRs and SBs), he hit second today, and his statcast page is pretty red?

Jeff Zimmerman: With the other platoon bats (e.g. Garrett Mitchell). He does hit five righties this week.

Guest: Mize seems like nothing special in a 12 team roto, correct? Soroka/Nelson/Wacha would be slightly more interesting?

Jeff Zimmerman: None of those pitchers are special, stream the ones with the best matchups.

jl: in a 15 team nfbc, if a healthy top 250 pick was dropped (e.g. kerry carpenter, colton cowser, brendan donovan), how much would you be willing to bid? thanks for doing this!

Jeff Zimmerman: As I explained early, look for comps from comparable players in comparable leagues.

Kirkside: Trying to fill the Kirk shaped hole in my life. OBP league. Any preference among these guys? Heineman (bad back, I know), Garver, d’Arnaud, Jake Rogers, Wynns, Fedduccia, Escarra, Valenzuela?

Jeff Zimmerman: Rogers but I feel dirty about it

Daniel: NL Only.  Have Bailey as my #2 catcher. Drop him for Del Castillo? Also, drop Nick Gonzales for Nick York?

M I Doomed?: Hard up for an MI in my OBP legue. Do you have a favorite 1 or 2 among these dregs: Juan Brito, Brice Matthews, Richie Palacios, Oswaldo Peraza, Taylor Walls, Javy Baez, Ez Duran, Schneeman, Blaze Alexander…?

Jeff Zimmerman: Add Brito for a week and see how he does.

Boisclair is there: Time to cut bait on Okamoto?  Old man Muncy was dropped, but not sure he’s a better gamble.

Jeff Zimmerman: I wouldn’t, it’s taking him some time to adapt, so I expect him to improve as the season goes on

M I Doomed?: (Mostly people too terrible for your always valuable WW piece…)

Jeff Zimmerman: I make some tough calls and aim for upside, but that’s what the waive wire is about

Closing Time: Never thought I could have too many closers (!) but I’ve got Helsley, Romano and Erceg in AL only. Keep Bryan King around as a spec (especially with such shaky closers) or use the spot to stream a starter? (Matz, Kay, Cecconi the sorts of available names)

Jeff Zimmerman: If you can trade, get a haul

Why not Zoidberg?: Nick Pollack seems really high on Bubba Chandler and if he clicks I’m sure it’s great, but I’m shallow enough most of your weekly waiver wire pitchers are available. Thoughts on moving on or holding for the potential? I don’t strictly need the spot but it feels like a waste if I’m not starting him.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s unstartable with a 7.7 BB/9. Coming into today’s disaster, he had a 1.73 WHIP. In roto leagues, it’s doing as much damage as a 6.87 ERA. Unusable.

Tom: what % of FAAB for Schulze in 13 team mixed redraft?

Jeff Zimmerman: What it takes to get him, I spent near 25% and am fine with it. Few difference makers show up and he could be one.

Finn: Thanks as always for the insights, Jeff, any reason to pick up a dropped Alec Bohm as a 1B/3B insurance policy?

Jeff Zimmerman: Perfectly fine bench bat.

Boisclair is there: No IR; worth grabbing Snell in a 10 team league or roll with J Cantillo?

Guest: What’s your read on how real Vasquez has looked? Projections think it’s a mirage but perhaps they haven’t reacted to what he looks like recently?

Jeff Zimmerman: I have him valued as a 3.68 ERA talent. It seems my system, for now, is splitting the results and projecitons.

Sean Burke: Am I betterr than Noah Schultz?

Jeff Zimmerman: No

Pondy: Streaming batters in Sacramento a play this early in the season or not warm enough to matter too much? Would McNeil or…Cortes in play as streamers this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: We’ll see. I still think the team might deaden the ball to help their pitchers.

Pondy: Is Soroka too owned for your list? If so where would he slot in? I have an OC w/ Roupp and Soroka available.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s way over owned at 73%

Jeff Zimmerman: He’d be near the top. I have him around a 3.75 ERA talent

The Batman: Running into a crunch with Imai and Pivetta looking extremely questionable next week. In an OC, what FAAB feels like pushing it for someone like Jeffrey Springs? I like him and his two step is appealing, but the quality of pitching out there doesn’t feel worth going too deep on bids.

Jeff Zimmerman: Springs is a solid add with good matchups over the next three weeks

Mr Action: You listed Max Clark as top of the list of prospect hitters to stash.  There appeared to be both defensive concerns and maturity issues during spring training- does all that get informed with his high BA and SB in start of AAA season?

Jeff Zimmerman: I like his Contact% and he should keep running. I think people should add what they think they’ll need

⚡️⚡️: Is Chandler Simpson for real? He reminds me so much of an old-school leadoff hitter, like Vince Coleman.  Will his truly unique skillset translate over the course of a year in modern baseball? I’m all in.
