Basallo: Where would he be in your rankings now that he got the call? Better bench bat, Basallo or Beavers?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m worried about the playing time with both since both are up. I like Beavers by a mile but some teams could use help at catcher.

JoeG14: What RP are you adding : Armstrong or Ferrer ? Saves only Roto.  I Would drop Maton for Armstrong

Jeff Zimmerman: Burger needs to go, not enough PT. Hell, Miguel Vargas is a better option.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d look at Andujar since he’s playing.

GP: In a 15 teamer, would you cut Chase Burns for one of your waiver wire SPs like McLean/Bergert?

Jeff Zimmerman: Cut Burns for anyone with a pulse. The best case is that he comes back to the bullpen.

JT: have # 2 pitching staff, 6×6 h2h where categories are: IP, ERA, K, W, WHIP & SV/HLD, if no injuries who gets dropped when Lodolo returns, current staff is Skubal, Gilbert, E. Perez, Flaherty & Nola … my gut tells me Flaherty is odd man out though not sure if it should be Nola or Perez

Guest: H2H w/K, K/9, W, era, whip, sv+h. Have good starters already. Most teams carry three RP. Drop SP/RP Whitlock for Edward Cabrera? Whitlock is my 3rd RP, but he’s also eligible as a SP, which gives me an advantage if I want to eventually grab a 4th RP sv+h with another RP in future weeks.

G Money: Is M Andular a guy you should pick up and ride for the rest of the year in a 16 team points league? Guy has been on fire since the trade.

Adenolith: I have first seed locked up and a loss next week would position me against an easier playoff opponent. Two people have a chance to make the playoffs if i win. Am I under an obligation to try my best next week, or can I “rest” my best players, so to speak?

Jeff Zimmerman: If there is not rule against it, sure. Be careful that the 2nd place team might see your strategy and do the same thing.

Jeff Zimmerman: I keep doing the same thing and find ways to keep adding to the lead. In one league, I have plenty of HR (Judge an Big Dumper) so I’ve been working at adding SB guys

Eli Archer: Hi Jeff – appreciate your time and insights. Hope this time my q won’t got left on the cutting room floor! For a 12-team league using QS, ERA, WHIP, and K/9, I’ve got Kodai Senga on my roster. Should I drop him for Hurston Waldrep, Cade Cavalli, or Nolan McLean for the rest of this season and as a potential keeper for 2026? If you had to pick one arm for upside and stability, who would it be?

Jeff Zimmerman: For any keeper aspect, it’s Cavalli. I think McLean has the best chance to keep throwing this year.

Just Joe: Hi Jeff. Many thanks again! I am lingering in 5th place in a 15-teamer.  Should I be attacking the category needs based on where I compare to the team above me or the team in the place to finish in the money?

Jeff Zimmerman: With several teams in the mix, just improve your team the best you can and ignore the managers in the way of the money.

Austin: Sheehan worth a spot start in coors or nah?

Jeff Zimmerman: no

Clark &Addison: At this point in the season is gaining 2 points in each of the saves and HR categories realistic if behind by 8 each of these categories or should I be looking e look elsewhere?

Jeff Zimmerman: First, remember to look behind you so others don’t pass you. The HR and especially the Saves can be done. In one league I’ve gone from last to being tied for 5th. Saves can be found.

Jeff Zimmerman: Also, smart managers will start dropping closers and they can be used to make up ground.  I dropped Pagan in one league where I can’t really move up or down

Some Guy: Do you think Joe Boyle will ever throw enough strikes to be a useful starting pitcher for fantasy?

Jeff Zimmerman: He has not shown it yet.

Bump Wills: Hold or drop Spencer Jones?

Jeff Zimmerman: Drop. I’m not sure he’ll play enough to be relevant.

Chanandler Bong: Was going to stash Bubba Chandler in my 10 team league. Might get called up soon, finally. Will he hurt more than he helps though? Stats are pretty bad in minors. Would Will Warren or Darvish be better adds?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d stay away. There is a reason he hasn’t been called up. Add Ashcraft instead

M-E-S-S: Still holding Peterson in a QS league? I have ample SP options but he’s been so good all year. Would drop to stream a bench bat

Jeff Zimmerman: Help for now. I’d have as many SP options as possible because many arms will start to get shut down

Johnny5Alive: Would you go all in on McLean in an NL only – not sure I would get him but I would need to put in all my remaining faab to have a chance (zero bids allowed).  Would replace Junk

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably … I’m not sure anyone else will pop up in that deeper format

Bad Manager: Do you have any news on B. Walter?  If coming back soon, do you see him inserted back into the rotation?

Jeff Zimmerman: No news and McCullers and Garcia are almost back. I bet Walters will head to the bullpen once healthy.

Jeff Zimmerman: And it’s the Astros. Walter might be missing as far as we know.
