Chris: In 1st in a 15 team auction championship, and in good shape depth wise. Is it worth putting in a bid for Sale (dropped last week) and drop A. Gimenez? If so, how much would you put down? Or am I too early here?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m guessing $20 for Sale but let me look.

Jeff Zimmerman: Sale was available in two NFBC leagues. He went for $111 vs $21 and $6 vs $0

Jeff Zimmerman: I wouldn’t bid anymore than $30

Jeff Zimmerman: No idea, especially with the break. I think Walter is a better pitcher than Rasmussen

Eli: Drop Schwellenbach for McClanahan in 12 team NFBC?

Jeff Zimmerman: I wouldn’t worry about either one. Too far away. In all my 12’s I’d go with the healthy arms.

Ashtray: Do I have permission to drop Harris in a keep 10 league? He simply seems broken. I have other options ranked a bit behind him like Agustin, Cowser, Rutschman, etc

Jeff Zimmerman: In a keeper league, it’s a tough decision.

Jeff Zimmerman: For now, I think it’s Ginkel but I’d put the odds at 40%

JDW: Apprciate all the insight every week. Do you have any RPs we should keep an eye on that could become Closers after the trade deadline? Saves only mixed lg. Obviously this would be pure speculation

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d follow the rumors, especially the ones at MLBTR (they try to verify). For now, I think the Pirates are for sure sellers. I saw an article about the Twins possibly selling.

Jeff Zimmerman: Several of the potential sellers don’t have good relievers on decent contracts.

Taco Grande: Hey Jeff. Thanks for these chats. In a deep league roto including K:BB, weekly lineups, HR/BA biggest needs, how would you rank Adolis, Jung Lee, Frehlich (when healthy), Stowers?

Jeff Zimmerman: There are always a couple of injury returnees who make a huge difference. The key is guessing which one.

2nd half impact: Which 2 players who aren’t up yet do you expect will have the biggest impact in the 2nd half?

Jeff Zimmerman: No one really. Possibly Chase Lauter. l could see Logan Henderson if the Brewers need him

Jeff Zimmerman: Neither, Both will spend three years in AAA and then get traded away for a #5 starter.

Jeff Zimmerman: With those options, you can stream the position. I’ve been doing that in a 12-team league. This week, use Toglia for the short home stand.

Yankee Fan: Is Spencer Jones for real? Do you see him playing a role with the Yankees this year?

Jeff Zimmerman: No idea, you’ll have to ask some prospect expert.

About $250: Do I have enough FAAB left or I have I already owned myself?

Jeff Zimmerman: Your good, Just limit to $15 to $20 per week.

Jeff Zimmerman: If you are in a tight race, try to keep $20 per week for the last two. You could be swapping out several players and for the “good” players, you can $2 instead of $1

Brice Matthews: Lost B. Lowe in deep (12 team) AL-Only Roto, very slim pickings for replacements: what kind of % you think I should spend on this guy? I’m in the hunt and will likely trade prospects and keepers at the deadline next month.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d sit down and run the numbers for sure. Hopefully, your not at 80% of your IP at the ASG

Jeff Zimmerman: That tough with other potential Saves coming up. But if Walter is your worst arm (congrats), drop him for Ginkel, and be ready to drop Ginkel for a better closer.

Sal: Appreciate the help as always Jeff. In a 15 teamer, OK to have Bieber on my bid list along with some other injury stashes?

Jeff Zimmerman: I have several. I’m a little short on backup hitters because if they get hurt on the weekend, there is nothing to do until the next FAAB period

Cory: 5×5 keeper, first place but hitting is bad.  Pick up Kim (TB) or wait and hope for Delauter.

Jeff Zimmerman: Kim is looking good. Could be a difference maker

Mike: Will Sheehan, May and Priester still be in the rotation in the second half or should I drop them

Jeff Zimmerman: All should be, but, as always, the key will be who you replace them with.

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t like the walks. In a roto league, his 1.46 WHIP is doing as much ratio damage as a 5.28 ERA.

Adenolith: Ive heard you say before that xBA isnt predictive. Does it hold any value for fantasy players and if so, how?

Jeff Zimmerman: None IMO. I keep hearing it mentioned and that is why I looked into it (in The Process). I have on this year’s to-do to look into xwOBA

Jeff Zimmerman: No, but sometimes a person needs to let the fustraction out. LABR team lost its four top starters (Nola, Sale, P Lopez, and Steele). I’m elated to be in 10th place.

Jeff Zimmerman: My take on starters, use them while you can and sh… stuff happens, so what is predicted never happens.
