Sunday Night Waiver Wire & FAAB Chat
7:30 |
: Welcome
7:31 |
: Here are the winning bids in the two Tout Wars 15-team leagues.
7:31 |
![]() |
7:31 |
: How would you rank Albies, Otto Lopez, and Adames in a 12 team roto league?
7:32 |
: Lopez, Adames, Albies
7:32 |
: How close are we to DeLauter taking over for Nolan Jones or bumping someone else to the bench?
7:33 |
: I think it could be any day now. DeLauter is healthy, play him now
7:33 |
: I feel like I need Chase Burns in my 12 team 5×5. How heavy do you think FAAB bids will need to be to get him?
7:33 |
: I’m guessing the same level as JAC. It’s going to be high
7:33 |
: Does rolling chart or ANYTHING suggest Mike Harris is salvageable this season (ever?) — bruuutal and he’s gotten worse every year
7:34 |
: Nothing. I’m guessing he’s hurt. It reminds me of the horrible first half by JRam a few years back.
7:35 |
: Ozuna is playing through a hip tear. Is he cuttable for Adell, Carpenter or Frelick in a 10 team league.
7:35 |
: Sure, especially Adell
7:35 |
: Its time to drop Ober. Not many choices in a deep league.. Rogers, Pallante or Zebby interest you for him?
7:35 |
: Those options are better than Ober right now
7:35 |
: Do you believe Lee is the man to own on the Braves pen?
7:36 |
: He is “a” man to roster. Right now, there isn’t one guy.
7:36 |
: Has Simpson impressed you enough with leather (and PT) to make you think he’s sticking around?
7:37 |
: Nope, not yet.
7:37 |
: Would Hays be atop your WW list as the cleanup hitter in a warming band box?
7:38 |
: Near the top, I like the guys with steals and homers
7:38 |
: Finally giving up on Pfaadt. Please rank these potential replacements: Lopez, Kikuchi, Warren. Thanks.
7:39 |
: Warren, Lopez, Kikuchi
7:39 |
: Chasing saves is no fun…
7:39 |
: The worst
7:39 |
: Looking for an upgrade over Baty at 3B but not sold yet on B Lee or Durbin considering that Baty has much higher barrel rate than either of those two. Would you rather have Lee or Durbin anyway?
7:40 |
: With these options, just stream them based on the opponent.
7:41 |
: They will change who is the best on any given week or day
7:41 |
: My staff has been ravaged by injuries. Which arm would you endorse next week: Walter (@COL) Corbin (BAL, @SD) Junk (MIN) Fedde (@PGH @Cubs) ?
7:42 |
: Walter and hope it’s a long term hold
7:42 |
: Trying to decude between M Kinstry, O Lopez, J Smith, and Winn for my MI spot. Who are you taking there? Standard H2H.
7:43 |
: Smith or Winn in points
7:43 |
: Is Jacob Wilson’s xwoba catching up to him? Thinking of dropping him for Otto Lopez.
7:43 |
: Depends on what you need. They might be interchangable.
7:44 |
: I’ve been on the game since ‘93, and back then, that meant being thrilled with snagging Derek Lilliquist as a FA haha
7:44 |
: reese olson safe to use? my other option is Walter @COL
7:45 |
: I’m not sure about safe but I’d use him
7:45 |
: What is your ROS outlook for Brandon Walter? His K-BB and SIERA look great. Does he hold rotation spot when Arrighetti returns?
7:45 |
: Walter keeps this up, he’ll remain in the rotation.
7:46 |
: Hi! Can you pick a favorite OF and #2 in AL OBP league: Haggerty, J. Clase, Michael A. Taylor, Lamonte Wade, A. Osuna?
7:46 |
: Taylor this week
7:46 |
: Otto Lopez or Xander ROS roto?
7:46 |
: Lopez
7:48 |
: Thanks as always, Jeff, trying to take a shot at a Hail Mary…position aside, is it Marcelo Mayer or Chase DeLauter?
7:48 |
: DeLauter
7:48 |
: Sheehan or Wrobleski for the rest of this year and the future?
7:48 |
: Sheehan
7:48 |
: Now the gorilla wants to know if it should buy, hold, or sell Vinnie Paquantino?
7:48 |
: hold
7:49 |
: Trevor Larnach is 7% owned on ESPN, but seems like he should be owned even in 10s. Am I missing something?
7:49 |
: I’m not sure he’s a top-30 outfielder
7:50 |
: HI Jeff! Thanks as always for the chat 🙂 H2H 12 team, how are you ranking ROS Morton, Wrobleski, Sheenan and Boyle?
7:50 |
: Morton, Wrobleski, Boyle, Sheehan
7:50 |
: Better add Wrobeleski or Ryne Nelson? Need to improve WHIP and ERA.
7:50 |
: Wrobeleski
7:51 |
: Thanks for the knowledge share, Jeff! Looking to add a SP for the stretch run. Who gets the call the soonest and/or who has the best outlook ROS? Joe Boyle, Jonah Tong, Jack Perkins, Nolan McClean?
7:51 |
: Boyle is the choice
7:51 |
: So who is the preferred save option: Kerkerking, Strahm, Alvarado, Romano, D Lee, Martin?
7:52 |
: Kerking
7:52 |
: Hey Jeff, do you think that Jack Perkins enters the rotation for Oakland with rumors of Sevy dealt and what are your projections looking like for him. He seems to look the part.
7:53 |
: Possibly, Ginn could move back in also.
7:53 |
: Would you be comfortable starting Chase Burns vs Red Sox and Phillies this week ?
7:54 |
: Depends where I’m at in the standings. If I need to make up ground, this is a chance to do it.
7:54 |
: In a one catcher weekly points league I keep alternating between starting Tyler Stephenson and Austin Wells. If a good free agent emerges, which of the 2 would you drop? It’s a dynasty league with a few Yankee fans if that influences your decision. Though Stephenson does seem to get a few more plate appearances most weeks.
7:55 |
: Maybe try to trade Wells now.
7:55 |
: How long would you hold onto Eury in 12T?
7:56 |
: I wouldn’t be, there are quite a few better options
7:56 |
: Is Mayo a buy low in redraft? Mixed 13 teams
7:57 |
: I still think he’s overvalued
7:57 |
: You “were” very high on Casparius. But now Wrobleski has over taken him. Drop Casparius for Wrobleski?
7:59 |
: It’s a tough call; both are still starting. Wrobleski but both should be rostered by some team
7:59 |
: Is Mitch Spence o/u the decent RP threshold? (Varland, Perkins are the names I’m looking at)
7:59 |
: Spence has been decent but the schedule as been tough
8:00 |
: Hi Jeff…after today you have a little more info on Montas. Does he move down your list a lot? If you were bidding on him in a 15 would he be worth $25? (assuming around $350 to $400 remaining)
8:01 |
: I’ve looked at the details today but it seems like he has no control yet. If I added him, I’d plan on benching him
8:01 |
: brb
8:03 |
: Need to drop one of the following: Boyle, Logan Henderson or Sheehan. 6×6 H2H w/wins, k/9, Ks, ERA, whip, sv+h.
8:03 |
: Henderson especially with Woodruff almost back
8:03 |
: Would you start Reese Olsen @WSN in his first start off the IL? Do you have a policy about such things?
8:03 |
: Usually I start them with the matchup.
8:04 |
: FYI, US and Costra Rica starting penalty kicks on FOX
8:04 |
: Chandler Simpson, Austin Hays, and Stanton. What is the correct order ROS?
8:04 |
: Not Stanton
8:05 |
: Simpson if you need speed, Hays otherwise
8:05 |
: What are you drinking?
8:05 |
: Bardstown Wheated
8:05 |
: Thanks for the chat, Jeff. 12 team mixed Sv league. Would you trade Kenley for Strahm? Feel like Jansen is overperforming his peripherals and trade bait so wondering if I should be proactive now. Thanks.
8:06 |
: I’d stay. I’m not 100% sure Jansen will get traded. He’s not an improvement for most teams and why spend the money.
8:07 |
: Brandon Woodruff worth speculating on in a 12 team 5×5 league?
8:07 |
: I don’t think so but someone will
8:07 |
: Weekly league: when you have 2 must start pitchers facing each other, do you pick the best matchup or play both?
8:08 |
: I start both. Usually I don’t even look
8:08 |
: Who gets called up first Painter or Boyle?
8:08 |
: Painter unless TB has an injury
8:08 |
: Need an OF until Yordan returns. Who would you take Wenceel Perez, Collins, Miniak or Paven Smith
8:09 |
: Collins, Perez ……….Smith, Moniak
8:10 |
: In our 12-team 5×5 (W, not QS) we play max 200 starts (~7 guys going the whole year with occasional sits) and at the halfway point I’m about 20 behind pace. My ERA is 3.720 but my WHIP of 1.162 suggests it’s pretty inflated. I’ve got Flaherty, Ryan, Liberatore, Walter, and deGrom active and Darvish, Woodruff, Glasnow, and McClanahan will be coming off the IL. I’m a lock to win SV with Hader, Bautista, and Suarez. I’ve spent 2/3 of my FAAB. Rank my options for an additional pitcher slot: Morton, Sheehan, Grant Taylor, anyone else
8:11 |
: You need to catch up now because guys could get shutdown. Use Morton
8:13 |
: Skubal might be too good. 7IP 1H 1BB 13k 93 pitches
8:13 |
: He’s insane right now.
8:13 |
: Is the Chris Paddack ride over? Hold or stream the spot in 15 teamers?
8:14 |
: He’s a streamer.
8:14 |
: L. Nootbar teased us to kick off the season, now is slumping and moved to a strong side platoon. Think he’ll get back on track facing only RHP?
8:15 |
: I’m betting against it
8:15 |
: Freese!
8:15 |
: Great save
8:15 |
: How much of a $100 budget would you spend on him in AL-Only Roto? (In my case this would be in a trade with an owner who says he’ll take faab offers).
8:15 |
: $5
8:16 |
: Navas 🙁
8:16 |
: This shoot out is nuts
8:16 |
: How much would you spend on him as a stash in AL-Only Roto? (Same deal, as a trade of FAAB)
8:17 |
: Not much if just this year. I think he could be done.
8:17 |
: If keeper, again 5%
8:17 |
: Freese x2!
8:18 |
: Is it time to dump Faucher for Ronny?
8:18 |
: Maybe hold both for the week
8:18 |
: 15tm mixed roto keeper salary cap. Would you replace any of Mayer, Nootbar, or Brady House with Pavin Smith or Caleb Durbin? (I’ve already had and dropped Durbin once, but here we are). OBP league. Thanks!
8:19 |
: I might drop Nootbar for Durbin
8:19 |
: starting Estrada at 2B this week. McNeil is on my bench. I kind of want to drop him and use the bench spot on a pitcher to hold. Is that wrong? McClanahan, Nelson, Darvish, Rocker, Priester are available.
8:20 |
: That’s tough. McNeil’s projection is bad this week.
8:21 |
: Am I wrong to think Shane Baz can have a great second half?
8:21 |
: That’s crazy
8:22 |
: USA! This team is fun. All the Euro guys on a break will hopefully be well rested to give us a chance to not get grouped next year.
8:22 |
: would you rather start priester against mia or may against the white sox
8:23 |
: That’s close. I only have Priester and am rolling with him. If given the choice … May.
8:23 |
: Do I keep hitting?
8:23 |
: I’m not sure but I need some of those steals
8:23 |
: J.Lopez, E. Sheehan, and Brandon Walter. I have let one go, who is it?
8:23 |
: Sheehan
8:24 |
: Speaking of Priester, he’s been a pleasant surprise. Think he’ll keep up a mid-3 ERA?
8:24 |
: If he keeps throwing strikes
8:24 |
: The GB% is near elite
8:24 |
: Lost Carrol for the time being, who would be my 2 best replacements out of Profar, B. Doyle, Cam Smith or Even Carter
8:25 |
: Profar and Smith
8:25 |
: Slim pickens in my al only to replace Langford. Would you want Muncy, Solano, Wade, Haggerty or osuna?
8:25 |
: I think I’d go with Solano
8:26 |
: I’m going to call it for the evening. See everyone next week.

After todays game is Wrobleski a must add as a bench streamer?
Also, at what point do you look at dropping/trading someone like Ozuna. What names of pitcher should I be looking to trade Ozuna for?
I feel Ozuna’s hip is holding him back a bit. I have several Yahoo h2h 12 & 10t Cat. leagues.
Thank you for doing this chats.
