Jeff Zimmerman: No, if he wasn’t already added, I would expect min bids

Grateful: Your articles and chats are appreciated Jeff.   In a 15 team
5 X 5 league (standard league with a 5 team bench), what percentage of FAAB (100 budget) would you spend for Birdsong or Abel if you a pitcher that is a must waive?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’ll start with Birdsong. A ton of people seem to like him but all my indicators point to him being a worse pitcher than Hicks. He’s buried at the bottom of my bid lists. You’ll need to find someone else to point to the merits of Birdsong.

Jeff Zimmerman: As for Abel, I’m guessing at least a 3% to 5% FAAB bid on him and would not be surprised with bids over 10%

ryan: already time to worry about standings and be more judicious with category specific adds? currently looking at a 25 pt deficit

Jeff Zimmerman: No but if a tie on talent, I’ll lean to the category I need. Someone in one of my leagues made up nine points today.

Johnny5Alive: Benson worth a look in nl only? Will he continue to get playing time when fraley comes back?

Jeff Zimmerman: He should remain as a strong-side platoon bat

Coyote Uggla: What percentage of starting FAAB to bid on Matt Shaw in 12 mixed? And what do you expect from him ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not even interested with some of the 3B moving up. I don’t see Shaw much better than Wagaman, Andujar, Vargas, etc. I don’t see Shaw being better than them

2B or not 2B: NL-only roto, been accumulating 2B options to see who sticks. Who would you drop out of Hyeseong Kim, L. Acuna, or Otto Lopez?

Jeff Zimmerman: Some team just lost Alvardo. They will be going all in for Romano I expect desparate bids of 10% or way more.

Sal: Thanks for answering our questions! In a high stakes 15 team league where everyone can use starting pitching, what kind of bid are you making on Weathers out of approximately $700 remaining budget?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s going to be a ton, some places are predicting over $200. I’m not sold on him staying healthy and maintaining his velo.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d rather take a chance on five $40 arms than one $200 one.

Jeff Zimmerman: All quotes and news points to yes.

EdOtt: Pfaadt seems like a 4 era 8K/9 blah pitcher.  Drop for Darvish or Zebby?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure Mathews or Darvish are much more than that.

Why not Zoidberg?: In a shallow h2h league with guys like Vientos, Burger, Winn, and J. Lowe available, would you still be holding L. Robert and Lawler?

KCBBq: Would you drop McClanahan (on my reserve list) in a 12 team AL only H2H keeper league with the idea of requiring next week? Have him at $5 but his salary goes to $10 if I keep him. His recent set back has me thinking he won’t be back till after AS break. If I get him back for single digits I get him for 2 years at same salary vs the increase to $10
