7:34
Jackie: who would you rather start next week?  Gibson at clv and at tx or boyd at kc and yanks.  Thank you.

7:34
Jeff Zimmerman: Gibson with Paul Sporer’s approval.

7:34
robertobeers: What do I do with Carlos Martinez in a 12-tm mixed league?

7:35
Jeff Zimmerman: Drop him. I just don’t see him getting Saves.

7:35
Parts + Gleyber: OBP League: Reddick or Teoscar? Thanks!

7:36
Jeff Zimmerman: Reddick but it’s really close. You might want to check matchups.

7:36
Parts + Gleyber: Which Cleveland Spider do you prefer (AL OBP): Greg Allen or Melky Cabrera?

7:37
Jeff Zimmerman: Allen if I need speed, Cabrera for power or if in a points league

7:37
Trap Gone Hamels: Hi. Help with an AL Only MI (OBP): Fletcher, Foresythe, Neil Walker? (I know you’ve backed Fletcher in the past, but curious what’s new.)

7:37
Jeff Zimmerman: I like Forsythe now, he was playing everyday the last time I looked

7:38
NCKLM: Giolito…final turning the corner or a good run vs. DET/MIN?

7:39
Jeff Zimmerman: It’s an OK run. He had a similar one in June.

7:40
Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t have time here to dive in but he’s someone I can dive into during the week.

7:40
Trap Gone Hamels: Another save for Jace Fry. Does he get enough ROS to be relevant in AL Only?

7:40
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, especially in AL-only

7:41
Bill: Drop Seranthony for Neris?

7:42
Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know. Neshek could also be in play. Hopefully our Bullpen Report guys will be all over the situation tomorrow

7:42
Little Jimmy: Looks like Voit is getting bulk of 1B reps in New York. You see anything you like?

7:43
Jeff Zimmerman: Nothing except a below average 1B bat in an above average lineup. Play him while you still can

7:43
Little Jimmy: Hi. Cedric Mullins, Melky, McKinney or Greg Allen in an AL only, OBP league. Thanks!

7:44
Jeff Zimmerman: Melky, Allen, Mullins then McKinney. Now Mullins may move down depending on bad he’s hurt

7:45
Frambe Job: Hi. Another nice start today from Framber in HOU. Worth a pick-up for this week, again vs. LAA?

7:46
Jeff Zimmerman: If he gets the start, yes. He’s at least a pickup and bench as his true talent come through

7:46
intheoitrust: Looking to catch lightning in a bottle on tonight’s FAAB run – thoughts on Peter Alonso or other potential Sept 1 call-ups that could contribute down the stretch and have keeper value?

7:47
Jeff Zimmerman: Not with the Mets. They’ll need to keep playing Jay Bruce. I’m not even sure he’s on the 40-man roster.

7:48
CPT: Drop Teoscar for Mullins? Flashes in the pan?

7:48
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, if Mullins is healthy

7:48
Me: Any chance we see Luzardo now that Manaea is injured?

7:49
Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe. We’ll find out in a couple days. If I was to bet on any pitcher coming up, it’d be the Pirates Keller

7:49
SP’s Kopech: Kopech gets Boston then Detroit again, no better than other streaming options?  Drop him?  12 team 5×5 roto.

7:50
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d keep him. Bench if you’re afraid. Where I own him, I need help so I’m rolling the dice

7:50
Pine Needles: Jeffress the clear closer in Milwaukee?

7:51
Jeff Zimmerman: I’m pretty sure. I think Hader may sneak in 1/4 of the time.

7:51
Pine Needles: Does Betances take the closer role in Chapman’s absence?

7:51
Jeff Zimmerman: Sounds that way

7:51
LenFuego: Is Rafael Devers going to be back early this week, or do I need to pick someone up off FAAB?

7:51
Jeff Zimmerman: Get someone off waivers. I never trust players coming back

7:52
Mooseknuckle Curves: Will Judge help my team in the playoffs that begin in 3 weeks?

7:52
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes

7:52
$19 Worth of Taco Bell: Keep Lourdes Gurriel for $5 in deep AL only roto league?

7:52
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, he’s worth it at that price

7:53
Maris: Last FA Grab tomorrow. Who would you take in keeper league for NEXT year — third basemen Eduardo Escobar or Brian Anderson? Thanks

7:53
Jeff Zimmerman: Escobar. I believe he’s the more talented

7:54
Mooseknuckle Curves: Is Urena worth owning in 12 team mixed league head to head or still just a streaming option?

7:54
Jeff Zimmerman: Steamer

7:54
$19 Worth of Taco Bell: Mike Clevinger worth keeping at $12 in deep AL only roto league?(Sale and Kluber will be only top 10 starters not held)

7:54
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes

7:54
The FAAB Four: Drop Bird in AL only redraft leagues?

7:55
Jeff Zimmerman: Really depends on who is available on the wire. At least you don’t have him locked in for three more years.

7:55
The FAAB Four: Is Ryan O’Hearn kind of good?  At least if cheap?

7:56
Jeff Zimmerman: He has power and is playing. I’m just not sure he’d play much if the Royals weren’t pathetic.

7:56
Killebrews : Laureano or McKinney the better shot term play?

7:56
Jeff Zimmerman: Laureano, better overall skills will keep him in the field more.

7:58
Frank: Need saves.  Have Dominguez, Yates and Boxberger.  Jeffress and Steckenrider are FA – should I hold tight with my guys or go after one in FAAB tonight?

7:58
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d prefer Jeffress over Dominguez right now.

7:58
Killebrews : Would you invest in the Philly bullpen or not worth it the way end game is managed?

7:58
Jeff Zimmerman: It really comes down to how many Saves you need. I gamble in a couple places

7:59
Greg: ROS Schebler , N Williams, or Calhoun

7:59
Jeff Zimmerman: Calhoun, Williams, Schebler

7:59
Frank: Hold onto Matt Kemp in NL only or try to grab Bruce, Renfroe, O’Neill in FAAB.  Kemp’s playing time going forward looks to be at risk

7:59
Jeff Zimmerman: I like Renfroe best

7:59
Jeff Zimmerman: brb

8:00
Wandy Rodriguez: Is Donaldson going to return?

8:01
Jeff Zimmerman: We’ll find out in a couple days. Depends how he looks in the minors

8:01
CPT: Kopech or Eovaldi ROS?

8:02
Jeff Zimmerman: Eovaldi based just on him throwing every day. I’m afraid Kopech, while a better pitcher, will get shut down.

8:02
Wandy Rodriguez: Is Matt Carpenter a stud next year or are there still concerns?  Ya know in a keeper

8:03
Jeff Zimmerman: It really comes down to the other options to keep.

8:03
Amazing Larry: Ryan O’Hearn is putting up some eye popping numbers.  Legit?  Tell me I’m crazy for dropping Matt Olson for him.

8:03
Jeff Zimmerman: You’d be crazy

8:04
Mike: In a shallow xbh league,  is sano worth rostering? Right when he looks poised to break out, another 0-18 slump shows up

8:04
Jeff Zimmerman: The streakiness is just what Sano does. He’s probably not worth it in a shallow league

8:05
j: Hey Jeff, do you prefer Marco Gonzales or Touki as a keeper?

8:05
Jeff Zimmerman: Touki

8:05
Janak: Thoughts on O’Neill for next two years?

8:05
Jeff Zimmerman: I have a feeling he’ll just get jacked around between the majors and minors

8:06
Wandy Rodriguez: Mookie Betts vs Mookie Wilson in a decathlon.  Who ya got?

8:06
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d bett on Willie Wilson

8:06
Yojiveself: Who gets McCullers spot in the rotation?  Bullpen day seems like a bad idea for the team

8:07
Jeff Zimmerman: Framber Valdez has looked good so far

8:07
hgs: 2b waiver pick up for this week? i got Kinsler but he still seems banged up

8:07
Jeff Zimmerman: Before I read the second part, I was going to say Kinsler. Maybe Forsythe if available.

8:08
Greg: Kyle Tucker still worth holding onto or drop for a 2 start streamer like Gaviglio?

8:09
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d drop Tucker for Gav. I’m just not sure the Astros can wait for Tucker to adjust.

8:09
Ben: Better Posey Replacemant ROS: Garver, Omar Navarez, Wieters, or Danny Jansen?

8:09
Jeff Zimmerman: Jansen

8:10
Desparately Seeking Pitching: I am ready to cut bait on Tyler Anderson but there isn’t a lot out there.  Do you prefer any of these guys ROS in a points league?  Junis, Sonny Gray, Framber Valdez, Barria, Poncedeleon

8:11
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d look hard at the matchups and stream. I’d never hold Gaviglio for the season but with games vs Balt and Miami, he’s a must add

8:11
Desparately Seeking Pitching: Betances or Neshek ROS – points league

8:12
Jeff Zimmerman: Neshek ROS. Personally, I’d go with Betances for a week and then dive in again.

8:12
TonyDanzaAllstar: Are there particular stats you use to determine if a young player has starting realizing their potential versus just a hot streak?  I’m think Willy Adames particularly, but I’ve wondered the best way to sort through the noise in other instances too.

8:14
Jeff Zimmerman: Rank in O-swing and Z-contact. These let me know if he knows the strike zone. Then see where he ranks in Exit Velocity to see if he hits the ball hard.

8:14
Jake Junis Priest: Eovaldi been making me sad lately. Gonna do better vs. White Sox next week, right? Or should I start looking elsewhere?

8:14
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d use him against the White Sox

8:14
Mooseknuckle Curves: Is Alex Cobb back?

8:17
Jeff Zimmerman: Everything is the same with him except for a lower ERA from a .232 BABIP (last month). I’ll pass

8:17
intheoitrust: i have three decent closers (Vazquez, Osuna, Giles) plus two injured closers (Chapman, Morrow) – looking for RP depth in playoffs.  currently have Andrew Miller on bench.  who’s best option – Miller, Neris (I see another question about him) or Soria.  looking at potential to be in the mix for saves as otherwise I’m probably happy with Miller now that he seems to be fixed (knock on wood)

8:18
Jeff Zimmerman: If you need Saves, take a chance on Neris but Miller will give you better rate stats

8:18
CPT: Was surprised to see Laureano so high in FAAB. Is he better than most of the other OFs you’ve been discussing (Mullins, Greg Allen, Melky, etc.)? Thanks!

8:20
Jeff Zimmerman: No, but he’s been playing. All those others are already owned in this league. The auction league is hyper-competitive (Ron Shandler’s in 14th and trying hard to move up) with no dead teams. I’m in another industry 15-team league where the WW options are so much better.

8:20
Amazing Larry: thanks

8:20
Jeff Zimmerman: You’re welcome

8:21
Frank: Are we going to see Wellington Castillo so

8:22
Jeff Zimmerman: Guessing yes but the White Sox may just shut him down

8:22
Davey Johnson: Time to move on from Stras in a 12-team mixed? Hill and Fiers available.

8:23
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d bench and see how his start tomorrow goes.

8:23
Andrew: Wee Willy McKinney or Jay Bruce Ros? Fangraphs pts

8:23
Jeff Zimmerman: Bruce if he plays

8:23
Dan: Atlanta and Brewers gone to mix and match closers? I have Hader and Minter. Drop Minter for Jeffress and at least have Brewers saves covered?

8:23
Jeff Zimmerman: Not a bad idea.

8:25
Jeff Zimmerman: Hader is 70th in the league in K’s at 111 tied with Thor and Robbie Ray

8:25
E: Drop Chad Green for Steckenridge? Saves and holds league

8:25
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes

8:25
Amazing Larry: Neris over Neshek?

8:26
Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know, I got Neshek in Tout Wars and hoping for Neris in other leagues.

8:27
Jeff Zimmerman: That looks like it for the evening. Talk to everyone next week.
