Jeff Zimmerman: Hope for the best. He seems like a bench pitcher for now. The problem is that the waiver wire options aren’t much better.

Dan: 12 team H2H points league. My last 2 starting pitcher slots are currently occupied by Porcello and Bieber. Taillon, Heaney, Newcomb, Flaherty, Gibson, and Buehler are all available in my league. Do you like any of those guys better than the 2 I currently have rostered?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d drop Bieber for everyone but Newcomb I go with Flaherty first

Baseballguy: 12 team h2h points league…drop f peralta for a two start Castillo this week?  Cards and Phillies at home. Peralta one start vs nationals

Jeff Zimmerman: In a points league, I’d go with the 2-start pitcher

Baseballguy: Does kelvin Herrera handle majority of save opps while Doolittle is out? Or do I grab bud Norris?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d roster Herrera first. Better pitcher

Drew: Been offered my Senzel for his Muncy in a 16-team OPS keeper (keep 6 MiLB). Currently in first and a solid bat would serve me well. Pull the trigger or hold?

Jeff Zimmerman: Flags fly forever. Grab Muncy

NCKLM: In 12-tm 5×5 QS league, I have Pivetta who’s probably my 6th or 7th best SP.  Stroman, Straily types are on my wire.  I want to have confidence in the numbers, but man these starts are getting frustrating.  Worth a drop?

Jeff Zimmerman: This is the status of all leagues right now. I’d stream the last pitcher slot or use a middle reliever.

JDD: 5×5 12 team league. $500 FAAB (real money). I’m tempted to go big on Yates ~$31. I’m sure you’ll get many Yates questions. Will he stick or will he tooget dealt? How much do you like Gsellman. I’m thinking ~$7…

Jeff Zimmerman: Yates may get dealt if the deal is right. I know it’s real dollars but the values seem low. I’d not be surprised with both near $50 but you know the bidding habits of your league.

Hugh: In a 12 team OBP roto dynasty league, is it too early give up on Schoop? Options on the wire are Yolmer Sanchez, Jose Pirela, or a rookie type like Baretto or Hampson

Jeff Zimmerman: I could see it. Maybe see if an owner with an OBP cushion would take him. For this week, I like Hampson but not much after then.

Walt: Ottoneu 5×5 in its first year, my first place team is facing a roster crunch (hoping to add DeShields via FA). Is McMahon at $10 worth keeping? I’m not sure he’s a keeper at that price and could use the roster space, although I like his long-term potential. How likely is he to be starting 1B for the Rockies in 2019?

Jeff Zimmerman: Feel free to drop McHahon.

Don’tBeAHader: 14 team roto redraft…how much on K.Herrera?

Jeff Zimmerman: 5% to 15% of original total

Mike Honcho: Dex Fowler worth a bid in 14 team redraft standard 5×5 roto?

Jeff Zimmerman: No, I didn’t my two of my redraft leagues I needed OF help with.

Garret Hampson: Garret Hampson is incredibly interesting, right? Having 70 grade speed and good plate discipline skiils should be fun in Coors.

Vic: Are we trusting hampson

Jeff Zimmerman: I like Hampson especially with a whole week at Coors. The problem is that I just don’t see him staying up once DJ returns. He’s a two-week rental

Parts + Gleyber : Do you prefer familia to diekman or leclerc for save specs?

Jeff Zimmerman: Diekman. I think Kela could get moved

Parts + Gleyber : Is Montas a hold or stream in al only?

Jeff Zimmerman: In AL-only he is a stream

kerosenedan: Yates, Gsellman, LeClerc – all available.  How do you order them by number of saves ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: You have them in the right order

Jake Junis Priest: Fletcher had a big night tonight. Him or A Mondesi going forward? (Either over Jorge Polanco?) Thanks!

Jeff Zimmerman: Fletcher has a rather bland profile while Mondesi will help with steals. Depends on needs. I think I would take Fletcher based on more playing time.

Me: Is Cepedes dropabble in a 12 teams 10keepers league?

Jeff Zimmerman: He might be in all formats. You may want to wait a week to be sure but none of the reports having him playing much, if at all, this season.

Sal: Which OF do you prefer in a 12 team h2h points league? Carlos Gonzalez, Jesse Winker, Avisail Garcia

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d take a chance on Winker and hope he plays more as he hits better. Garcia may beat him based on full playing time.

Jeff Zimmerman: I like him ROS but needs to stay healthy which is easy for a catcher.

Jeff Zimmerman: ROS? No. One of the many struggling bats could get hot. I do expect him to put up decent numbers.

Garrett Hampson: 10-team, NL-only, 5×5 (OBP). 100 annual FAAB. How much do I bid for Hampson?

Jeff Zimmerman: $5 to $15. I’d be on the low side.

EG: Javy Baez… 100 game fluke or is he for real?

Jeff Zimmerman: This can be Baez if he makes contact and balls fall in. he could see his AVG be 100 points lower and then I’ll start getting questions about dropping him

jimniezgoda: If i needed an extra bat for the next few weeks, preferably 3b eligible.  who do you like better Matt Chapman, Ian Happ or Kike Hernandez?

Jeff Zimmerman: Chapman based on steady playing time.

EG: Rich Hill… Makes it through the rest of the season or another DL stint?

EG: Think c-mar bounces back at all?

54: Does anything in Omar Narvaez profile indicate he may have progressed from his slap hitting reputation? Looking to address the backstop black hole with immediate play and future upside.

Jeff Zimmerman: He looks to provide a nice floor to AVG or OBP in Roto leagues. Reminds me of the Reds Tucker Barnhart.

LFC Mike: Add Tatis Jr. to the list of serious injuries sliding head first. Hope that single stolen base was worth it.  There are articles on this site about it and various studies about it . When Mike Trout has to wear an oven mitt to slide head first he is admitting it is more dangerous and he knows about it first hand… no pun intended. I fear one day Betts or Benentendi or Machado will be injured that way and miss the rest of the season and post season. The game is hard enough and injuries are part of the game but to add to the risk is uncalled for. Maybe a GM will one day will make it organizational policy for no head first slides. I will take an out vs a Mike Trout missing 3 months. Thanks for letting me vent.

Hugh: Have a 12 save lead in a roto league, my bullpen consists of Treinen/Chapman/Kela/Dominguez/Britton/Yates. Should I be pursuing bullpen help just because there’s a lot of smoke around the majority of those guys getting moved/replaced and Chapman had that weird outing yesterday?

Jeff Zimmerman: Are you in a 5-team league? Your Saves are fine but aiming for first place is the wrong approach. You’ve wasted 11 Saves so far.

Nino Sarris: What is your expectation for Willie Calhoun?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s going to have to start hitting or he will be demoted. He’s DH only at this point and the Rangers are loaded with DH-only hitters.

Jack Flarhety: As a keeper/future player, where you rank him? Can he develop further?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure but he’s problem a keeper in most leagues. Comes down to other options.

Kirby Yates: Will I be traded and go back to being a MR or am I going to pick up 10-15 to saves ROS for the Padres?  Thanks in advance.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think he has a 40% chance of being traded to be a MR. Not many weak closers out there on contenders.

Mike: Just traded Harper in a 14 team H2H 10×10 OBP 12 keeper league (no restrictions) for Acuna and Gleybar.  Did I sell low? Other OFs are Betts Judge Stanton Rosario

Jeff Zimmerman: Trade seems fine with your depth.

Steve: 12 team h2h (qs and ops).  How much longer can I wait for Jose Martinez, luke weaver, and pivetta to turn things around?

Jeff Zimmerman: Dump Weaver. Hold J-Mart until the trade deadline. He needs to be in the AL. I still like Pivetta
