RotoGraphs Audio: The Sleeper and the Bust 3/9/2015 – LABR Reax

Episode 202

The latest episode of “The Sleeper and the Bust” is live!

In this episode, Paul Sporer and Jason Collette discuss some Spring Training injuries and then deep-dive into the AL and NL LABR auctions that took place this weekend in Phoenix:

They discuss where the extra money went in the AL. Extra money, you ask? The dilution of the upper tier of AL pitching with Scherzer, Shields, and Lester leaving and Darvish and Tanaka facing injury issues that will leave them well below cost had big effects on the rest of the pool.

The NL was fascinating because it seemed that almost every team had specific, detailed strategies that they were able to enact which created an interesting balance of teams across the league.

Apologies for a bit of background noise on this one. Was on the exercise bike for a little bit & didn’t notice how squeaky it was there as we started discussing the AL LABR draft.
