Quick Hits
Edward Cabrera left Sunday’s start with an ankle sprain.

The injury is considered minor, but with so little time left in the season, this may be the last time we see him pitch this year.

Jesse Winker left Sunday’s game after being hit on the wrist with a pitch. The injury is being called a bruise. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Wander Franco left Sunday’s game with a hand issue. This is not the same hand he injured earlier this season and he reportedly is ok, so it appears to just have been a precautionary issue. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Cal Raleigh was removed from the game on Sunday with a thumb injury. This is a bummer as Raleigh has been a nice power source from the catcher position. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Various News and Notes
Lewin Diaz went 1-for-3 with a home run in the loss to the Nationals on Sunday.

Diaz has not played well in the 49 games he has played in the Majors this year, but he has been showing some power as of late. He has three home runs in the last 10 days. There is risk here, but if you need a cheap power source down the stretch, he should get some run.

Connor Capel went 2-for-4 with a home run in the loss to the Mets on Sunday.

Capel is not much of a prospect, but he has been on fire since being called up, hitting .343/.385/.657 with three home runs while striking out just as much as he has been walking. He is worth riding the hot streak with for the rest of the way.

J.D. Davis went 4-for-5 with a home run in the victory over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Davis has always been a StatCast hero and it has been no different this season with a 93rd percentile average exit velocity, a 99th percentile hard hit and a 96th percentile barrel. However, he is in the bottom two percentile for strikeout rate and has an atrocious zone-contact rate. He doesn’t play enough to matter for this season, but with Evan Longoria in the last year of his deal, he could have a shot at being the main third baseman for the Giants in 2023.

Streaming Pitchers (Under 50% in CBS)

Pitcher for Today:  Roansy Contreras vs CIN

Great matchup at home on a short slate.

High Risk Options: Bryce Elder at WAS, Chase Anderson at PIT.

Pitcher for Tomorrow: Mitch Keller vs CIN

Keller continues to roll and it is surprising that he is still only 28% rostered.

High Risk Options: Bailey Ober vs CHW, Kyle Bradish at BOS, Joey Wentz vs KC.

For those of you that would like to see how these picks play out, I have a doc I put together to track the stats from the recommended pitchers. It does not include the “High Risk Options.”
