Jasson Dominguez was placed on the IL with a UCL tear. The top prospect will undergo Tommy John surgery. The hope is that he will be able to return in early 2024.

Brandon Belt left Monday’s game with back spasms. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Jose Siri left Monday’s game after being hit on the hand with a pitch. Reports after the game stated that he fractured the hand. This will likely end his season.

Various News and Notes

Logan O’Hoppe 3-for-5 with two home runs in the victory over the Mariners on Monday.

O’Hoppe struggled initially after returning from the IL but he is now on fire hitting .314 with five home runs in the month of September. He should be rostered in most formats and will be an interesting catcher target heading into 2024.

Mark Canha went 2-for-6 with a home run in the victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Canha has quietly been really good since being traded to Milwaukee, hitting .303 with four home runs and a stolen base. He doesn’t have a ton of upside, but he is playing every day in a nice park and can be a great batting average asset.

Mike Yastrzemski went 2-for-3 with a home run in the victory over the Guardians on Monday.

Yaz has been great since returning from the IL, hitting .419 with three home runs in 11 games. When healthy, Yaz has been pretty good for the Giants, but he struggles to stay on the field. He is healthy now and should play every day moving forward, so he should be rostered in 12-team leagues and deeper.

Streaming Pitchers (Under 50% in CBS)

Pitcher for Today: Brandon Williamson at DET

Williamson had been pitching well before hitting the IL and gets a bad Detroit offense away from Great American Ballpark.

High Risk Options: Patrick Sandoval at SEA, Brady Singer at CHW, Kutter Crawford vs NYY, John Means vs STL, Zack Littell at MIN, JP Sears at HOU, Cal Quantrill at SF, Ryne Nelson at NYM, Touki Toussant vs KC,

Pitcher for Tomorrow: None

Some good high risk options, but none that I am really confident in.

High Risk Options: Griffin Canning at SEA, Jameson Taillon at COL, Christopher Sanchez vs ATL, Paul Blackburn at HOU.

For those of you that would like to see how these picks play out, I have a doc I put together to track the stats from my recommended pitchers. It does not include the “High Risk Options.”

Yaz also gets 4 games in Coors this weekend (though he likely only starts 3 of them since the GIants are straight platooning him)
