Roto Riteup — presented by DraftKings: September 21, 2014
Change of plans, Roto Riteup readers. You get stuck with me again today, but do not fear, Wiers assures me he will be finished with his killing spree come tomorrow.
Hopefully today is the day when you wrap up your league title, make the championship matchup, or finish your opponents off in roto leagues. Personally, I’m looking for good starts from Jacob deGrom and Alfredo Simon as my co-owner and I try to hold off a charge and leave with the cup in our hometown league.
On today’s agenda:
1. Ryan Zimmerman returns
2. Jose Bautista’s big day
3. Fun with arbitrary endpoints
4. The Falsetto Five
Ryan Zimmerman returns
Zimmerman was in left field for the Nationals yesterday, his first big league game in almost two months. The former All-Star admits that he still isn’t at 100%, but with the playoffs looming, he’s willing to work through it. Zimmerman isn’t going to play every day over the last week of the season, so he’s probably not worth having around if you have to set your lineups tonight. Zimmerman’s proven talent, depressed stock, and dual eligibility could come in handy for those daily-leaguers out there in 2015.
Jose Bautista’s big day
Joey Bats dominated the Yankees and continued what has been a fairly quiet awesome season. Bautista walked three times, hit a single, and added a homer against New York, raising his wOBA a full five points on the year. Bautista now has 34 homers, 101 RBI, and a .281/.400/.519 line on the season, his best since 2011.
Fun with arbitrary endpoints
