Dustin Pedroia heating up
Pedroia may have started out slowly, but he’s found his stroke and is bringing good things to fantasy owners. Pedroia hit .289 in July, and he was slashing .324/.359/.432 in August before going 2-for-4 with a double yesterday. Pedroia still hitting just .282 on the season with five homers, and even at at the age of 30, it looks like Pedroia’s days as a fantasy staple may be over.

The Blue Jays and Tigers are tired
Toronto and Detroit played two whole baseball games yesterday, with the Blue Jays coming through to win the game in the 19th.

The Blue Jays are now flying across the continent to take on the Seattle Mariners, which is even worse for their physical and mental well-being. Better yet, Toronto is going to face off against Felix Hernandez today, which is bad times. Detroit gets to make the relatively short journey to Pittsburgh for the first two of a home-and-home, and they’ll have to trout of an extra pitcher or two Monday thanks to the lack of a DH.

For those of you in daily leagues, take advantage of the Tigers and Blue Jays by taking Felix Hernandez and maybe even Jeff Locke, who will be taking the mound in Pittsburgh.

Anibal Sanchez to DL
Not only are the Tigers exhausted but they’re a man down, placing Anibal Sanchez on the DL with a pec injury. Sanchez hurt himself attempting a pickoff move against Toronto, which may one of the saddest ways to get injured outside of pinching your nutsack in your zipper. Sanchez is slated to miss about a month’s worth of time, so he could be back for y’all in Head-to-Head finals.
