Roto Riteup: May 2nd, 2012 by Zach Sanders May 2, 2012 Today’s Roto Riteup is a Jack of all trades, but a master of none. • With Kyle Farnsworth being transferred to the 60-day DL, Fernando Rodney’s hold on the job only grows stronger. Rodney has been shockingly great this year, which could be due to magic voodoo or his increased reliance on his two-seam fastball. I still don’t have the utmost confidence in Rodney, but I’d feel pretty good if I owned him right about now. • In other Rays’ news, Evan Longoria is going to be out for a couple months due to a torn hammy. Tampa Bay’s replacement isn’t going to be worthy of an add in roto leagues, and Longoria owners are likely going to be hard pressed to find a third baseman worth his weight in wheat. • Mike Carp has come off the DL for the Seattle Mariners, so be prepared to adjust your lineups. Chone Figgins has been filling in for Wells in left field, and with both Alex Liddi and Kyle Seager hitting better than him, Figgy looks to be out of a job. Carp’s minor league rehab stint did nothing to instill confidence, but let him try his hand in the majors before making your final determination. For those of you who play daily fantasy games like FanGraphs: The Game, or just like to stream players, here are a couple matchups you may be able to exploit. A Pitcher for Today: Lance Lynn (STL) vs PIT Lynn may have been snapped up in your league by now, but there are not a whole lot of options today. A Pitcher for Tomorrow: David Phelps (NYY) at KCR Phelps makes his debut in the Yankees’ rotation away from the tissue box that is Yankee Stadium. A Hitter for Today: Luke Scott (TBR) vs SEA (Blake Beaven) I love me some Luke Scott against a guy who won’t be able to get away with leaving a pitch over the plate.
