Various News and Notes
Sometimes it feels so good to be right that you want to write about it: Tyler Duffey made his way through seven scoreless innings yesterday, striking out six and walking just one. Duffey’s ERA on the year is now a sparkling 1.85, and his FIP is 3.00.

The Astros are grooming Alex Bregman to take over at third base in the majors sooner rather than later. A shortstop in college, Bregman was selected second overall in last year’s draft, but that position is pretty clearly taken at the moment. Bregman is crushing the ball in Double-A, and while Luis Valbuena went yard yesterday, there’s still plenty of room to upgrade at the hot corner. I wouldn’t bet against Bregman debuting sometime in early August.

Hector Santiago was, unfortunately, on his game yesterday against the Mariners. Santiago allowed just two hits in eight innings of work, striking out five and inducing plenty of weak contact. Santiago’s changeup was excellent, particularly when he was asked to pitch the eighth after already throwing 100 pitches. The lefty still has overarching command issues, but he’s a very interesting AL-only starter.

Streaming Pitcher Options
If you enjoy streaming pitchers or play DFS, tune into the Roto Riteup for recommendations each and every day.

A pitcher for today: Adam Conley at PHI (Jerad Eickhoff)
While having to be in Philly rather than Miami is not ideal, Conley should still have a solid outing on a day without a full slate of games.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Colin Rea vs SFG (Madison Bumgarner)
It’s not a pretty day for streamers. Aaron Blair in Pittsburgh is another less than ideal option, and don’t expect either he or Rea to pick up a win.

Well, it may not be a good streaming week, I’d take a flier on Conley v Phillies any day.
