Roto Riteup: July 6, 2015

It’s been 16 long years, but the Roto Riteup proudly welcomes the Women’s World Cup title back where it belongs in the good ole US of A.

On today’s agenda:
1. Fun with arbitrary endpoints
2. Various news and notes
3. Streaming Pitcher Options

Various news and notes
Ervin Santana was impressive in his Twins debut, striking out eight batters in eight innings of work. Grab him in all but 10-teamers.

After struggling to find his power stroke in the first half, Marcell Ozuna has been demoted to the minors by the Marlins. Outside of the power, Ozuna had shown some offensive progress this year, and at just 24 and coming off a nearly 4 WAR season, he’ll be given plenty of chances to right the ship.

Derek Holland made it through a bullpen session yesterday, so he’s just a few steps away from starting a rehab assignment. Holland should be back around August 1.

Steven Matz was excellent against the Dodgers yesterday, striking out eight over six innings and walking two.

Kyle Hendricks keeps pulling me back in: the Cubs righty tossed seven-plus innings yesterday against the Marlins, striking out six while walking just one. Hendricks’ FIP is now down to 3.41 on the year with an ERA of 3.82.

Streaming Pitcher Options
If you enjoy streaming pitchers, tune into the Roto Riteup for recommendations each and every day.

A pitcher for today: Edinson Volquez vs TBA (Alex Colome)
The Rays are a bottom-third offense against righties, which Volquez happens to be.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Chris Young vs TBA (Matt Moore)
It’s not a great day for streaming, so let’s stay in KC. If Moore’s somehow available, he’s certainly the preferred option.

I have streamed Hendricks 2 or 3 times this year and caught one of his bad starts every time. I think I know the answer, but do you prefer him, Ray, or Jungmann?

Hendricks is on the better team, stick with him
