COVID Issues
The Marlins placed Jazz Chisholm on the IL. Chisholm just came off of the COVID-IL and it sounds like he is heading back there after exhibiting symptoms. He could be back quickly if he tests negative twice in a row.
Quick Hits
Gleyber Torres was placed on the IL with a sprained thumb. Torres injured his thumb while stealing a base on Sunday, but was able to play through it. Hopefully he doesn’t miss a ton of time, but there is no timetable for his return at this time.
Kwang-Hyun Kim was placed on the IL with elbow inflammation. There is no timetable for his return.
Clayton Kershaw was moved from the 10-Day IL to the 60-Day IL. This is a disappointing move because it means Kershaw won’t be back until early September at the earliest which makes him droppable in many formats.
Bobby Bradley was placed on the IL with a knee strain. The move is retroactive to August 7th.
Various News and Notes
Wilson Ramos went 1-for-3 with a home run on Monday versus the Reds.

Ramos has now hit home runs in back-to-back games since joining Cleveland. He could be worth rostering in 2-catcher formats if he is going to get regular playing time.
Lewis Brinson went 2-for-4 with a home run in the loss to the Padres on Monday.

Lewis Brinson responded to an emotional day with a home run in San Diego and continuing his run as one of the hottest hitters in baseball!@Marlins | #JuntosMiami pic.twitter.com/2jOqefUYli

Brinson has been hot as of late, hitting three home runs with a .325 average since July 25th and is not only playing everyday, but has been hitting cleanup in four of the last five games. BRinson is a former top prospect and if he can keep the strikeout rate down, he could finally deliver on that promise.
Carlos Hernandez threw 6.2 innings versus the Yankees, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk in the no-decision.

Hernandez was great once again, throwing four pitches with CSWs over 30% and while commanding everything well. He has a locked down rotation spot and should be picked up in most formats.
