Quick Hits
Eddie Rosario signed a one year deal with the Braves on Monday. Rosario will provide outfield depth for Atlanta. Jarred Kelenic was demoted to make room on the roster.
Gary Sanchez was placed on the IL with a wrist injury. There is no timetable for his return. Maverick Handley was recalled to take his spot on the roster.
Jordan Westburg was placed on the IL with a hamstring injury. There is no timetable for his return. Emmanuel Rivera was recalled to take his spot on the roster.
Tyler Glasnow was placed on the IL with shoulder inflammation. There is no timetable for his return, but the Dodgers do not believe it is a structural issue at this time. Noah Davis was recalled to take his spot on the roster.
Various News and Notes
Riley Greene went 2-for-4 with two home runs in the loss to the Astros on Monday.
Greene had been struggling this season, but he still is hitting the ball hard and he hits in a great spot in the lineup. This may be the beginning of the turnaround needed.
JP Sears threw 5.2 innings on Monday versus the Rangers, allowing one run on five hits and no walks while striking out seven in the victory.
Sears has been fantastic this season, limiting the walks and showing the best command of his career. Sears has struggled with hard contact and a lack of overwhelming stuff in his career, but somehow he is making it work for now. His home park is terrible and there will be some bad outings at some point, but while he is on the road, he is a nice streamer.
Dane Myers went 2-for-2 with a grand slam in the loss to the Dodgers on Monday.
Myers has been great this season, hitting .315/.327/.463 with two homers and two stolen bases, but the underlying numbers are terrible. He is striking out at a 27% clip and only making contact in the zone at a 73% rate. His BABIP is .405 so once the luck runs out, his average and playing time will dry up if he can’t improve the contact.

Pitcher for Today: Ryan Gusto vs DET
Gusto has looked good since his callup and the Tigers aren’t a team I am afraid of.
High Risk Options: Michael Lorenzen at TB, Chris Paddack at CLE, Miles Mikolas at CIN.
Pitcher for Tomorrow: Shane Smith vs MIL
Smith has been great this season and it is not a great slate for streamers.
High Risk Options: Tyler Anderson at SEA, Luis Ortiz vs MIN, Taijuan Walker vs WAS, Steven Matz at CIN, Carlos Carrasco at BAL.
For those of you that would like to see how these picks play out, I have a doc I put together to track the stats from my recommended pitchers. It does not include the “High Risk Options.”

If only the Orioles had an infielder or catcher stud prospect to bring up instead of those guys.
