Paul Sporer: Ya I’d never start Buchholz. Gee is pretty bad, too. Guerra is worth a start and I might gamble on Straily even with a trip to COL bc of your league depth

Don: Adrian Gonzalez is hitting 50%+ grounders. What do you see ROS? Steamer says .270, 16 HR. Is he even worth holding in 10 team mixed?

Paul Sporer: I feel like he’s at least a CI in 10-teamers, so I’d hold

Mark: What’s happening with Adam Conley lately? Is he still a guy to own?

Paul Sporer: Ebbs and flows of a youngster. I still like him in a lot of formats

Rags: Points league with a slight emphasis on XBH and RBIs. Was offered Billy Burns for Brandon Crawford. Is that enough or should I ask for more? I have Kang and Jose Ramirez at SS right now.

Paul Sporer: Meh. If you need the speed. I like Crawford

AJ: Some days ago you said Fielder and Dozier were droppers (Also had Heyward and Upton… yeah I know) Ended up trading Fielder for Gio Gonzalez (I know he is not this good) and dropping Dozier for Matt Adams, how did I do?

Dave: All else being equal, what type of player do you prefer for a bench spot in roto: (A) a player who provides value in different categories than your starter (e.g., SBs vs. HRs) so can give those categories a boost on starter’s off days; or (B) a player who provides the same profile as the starter (but, obviously, less so), who could then step in in case of injury without significantly changing how the team is constructed?

Paul Sporer: There’s a chance he’s insane, but even then for how many innings? He’s never topped 88 IP as a pro. I’d say 10-12%. Pretty conservative, but I’m fine if I don’t get him. He’s not top 72 next yr anyway

Nate: 12 team mixed, how much longer do I hold on to Kuechel?

Paul Sporer: until a better option comes around? should have some trade equity in the market. just sell low since you’re considering a drop

Paul Sporer: Thanks! He’s been solid. The offense has cooled and with it his Rs are down. I think they will heat up again, espec. when Abreu gets going

brett: thoughts on Hyun-Soo Kim? it looks like he might get more ABs in the near future. He is my Duda replacement in a 20 team league.

Paul Sporer: that’s viable

Minty: Who is more likely to turn it around, Upton or Heyward? At least for this year, I’m losing faith and I’m ready to drop soon.

Paul Sporer: Upton. Heyward has the wrist that we just don’t know how much it’s ailing him

Paul Sporer: Loney had a 112 OPS+ for his first 4 seasons. Only had one truly BAD season

Oliver : Are Conforto/Mazara/Joc/shaw/lamb all too much of the same player to own all of them in h2h OBP league? Should I look to move one or both of Shaw/Lamb?

Paul Sporer: I see the similarity obviously, but they aren’t on the same team, so they’re unlikely to all be facing lefties on the same day

Paul Sporer: Panik. See if he has any trade value, otherwise you can move on for now

Paul Sporer: If you don’t need the spot, hold him, but obviously he becomes someone to move on from if you find yourself in a roster crunch

Paul Sporer: I don’t think Travis has much more upside than DJLM

Paul Sporer: OK, this will be the last Travis question. He’s the player of the day it seems. He’s largely overrated in the market. Shoulder injuries have me questioning what the power will be like anyway. The lineup isn’t that good right now so it’s not automatically gonna float him. He’s a fine mid-tier 2B option, but I think a lot of folks who held him are expecting BIG things and I don’t see that

Rich: Start Estrada (vNYY, @BOS) or is that BOS start gonna kill my ratios!

Paul Sporer: Really trying to avoid BOS… espec AT BOS, but Estrada has been really good again

Paul Sporer: No, not necessarily. Always worry about health bc he’s had some issues, but nothing jumps out. Prob a solid buy-lower… i don’t think the discount will be THAT steep, but it’ll be cheaper than opening day

Paul Sporer: Yeah, I think that’s fair. I hate to deal Harper, but you gotta improve that SP

Paul Sporer: Understand your concern of one losing their job, but I like Ryu. How many teams?

Paul Sporer: Y’all gotta include team count to get better answers. It’s the single biggest factor in deciding these answers

Paul Sporer: I think Happ is usable in deeper leagues for sure. Maybe stream in 12-teamers. Ya I think ppl saw the Cust name and figured I was saying he’d be done in short order like Cust. I just meant his current skills are Custian. He can (and should) evolve, though
