Paul Sporer: Could be. Remember, he got that 8 year / $25 million dollar deal bc of his health

Dave: Would you trade DeGrom and Stanton for Sale and Bautista?

Paul Sporer: No

Paul Sporer: Don’t think deGrom is that far from Sale and Stanton is way better than Bautista

Dusty: Is cutting Pujols outright a consideration for those in shallow formats? I have him in a 10-teamer and have been trying to trade him all season with no takers, and my team has a real need for speed. Keon Broxton/Aaron Altherr/Delino DeShields-types are out there on waivers, and I’m not sure what to do.

Paul Sporer: Ya he’s nothing special in a 10 teamer

Steve: What should I do with Gregory Polanco? I’m worried about the bum shoulder rumors. Do you think they linger the entire season?

Paul Sporer: I think you gotta sit tight unless you want to sell low. The shoulder has been a problem before and it’s back. So frustrating bc I had high hopes for Polanco this yr

Hobbs: Any buy low SPs you’re looking at? I have Erv and Bundy. Wanting to sell high. 12tm H2H with IP, K/9 and QS.

Paul Sporer: Kluber, Cueto might have some discounts. If you believe in Arrieta, you can take a run. I’m not in on Arrieta personally

Sloth: Carlos Santana has been disappointing. Anything to be concerned about?

Paul Sporer: Feel like he regularly starts slow. Has an .835 career 2nd half OPS.

Dave: Bad idea to play Greinke tonight?

Paul Sporer: Never a GREAT idea to mess around with SPs in Coors.

Rob: Better DL stash J. Gray or C. Rodon?

Paul Sporer: Gray

Makes you think: Pineda at 11.6 k/9. Is this the year he finally puts it all together?

Kerry: Just traded Trea for Kershaw and Cesar Hernandez in 10-team redraft. How’d I do?

Paul Sporer: I mean, you know you did well. You just want to brag.

Paul Sporer: If playing time opens up, I could see it with his speed

BleepBlorp: Would it be crazy to sell my SP assets and use only closers and elite RPs like Devenski in my 12 team H2H league? The weekly IP minimum is only 15.

Paul Sporer: But would you be able to compete in W, Sv, and K?

Piggly-Wiggly: In a 12t H2H dynasty with OPS and TBs as extra categories, how close are S. Marte and Rizzo in value?

Paul Sporer: Pretty close when Marte isn’t suspended for PEDs

Ombudsman: Thanks for the chat Paul! Not sure what I would do without these Friday chats! Question: In a 10-tm h2h 5×5 w/ OPS and QS added. I am looking to trade Jon Lester (worried about his velo decline) for a hitter. Already tried for Thames, 1 for 1, but no dice. Looking to target now EE, Schwarber, Carlos Santana, Kyle Seager, Jose Bautista (maybe, worried about him). Think I am in the ball park?

Paul Sporer: Yes I think you’re in range. Prioritize Seager.

Paul Sporer: He’s gone for more power *home improvement grunt* with major strikeout gains. I kinda buy then surge a bit

Hans: You holding or dropping Thor in 10-team with D.L. spot already occupied (Cespedes)?

Paul Sporer: Holding as long as I can; otherwise trading. Don’t think you can outright drop unless the league just refuses to give you something

Jack: Any Nationals or Phillies RP worth adding for saves going forward?

Paul Sporer: Neris is still the guy to have in Philly. I don’t think Washington’s save leader is currently on their team

Jackie Bradley Jr: What’s wrong with me?

Paul Sporer: Missed time to injury so you’ve only played 15 gms. Seems like a standard slump more than something to freak out about

Jason: Blackmon/ERod for Stanton/Colome, who wins? 12 team roto (OBP, SLG, NSB, IP, QS, K/9)

Paul Sporer: Not sure there’s a *winner*, seems like a fair deal if needs align

99: Do you always want to have one spot on a roster for pick ups/drops? I dropped Keon Broxton for Eddie Rosario yesterday for this reason and now I want to die.

Paul Sporer: LOL why do you want to die? Bc Brox had a big game?

Rick: Is my Miguel Sano for his Francisco Lindor a no brainer? 10 tm mix, keep forever.

Paul Sporer: For me it is, but I don’t think it’s completely unreasonable for a power-starved team to prefer Sano. But yes, do this immediately

JJP: ROS home runs for Thames?

Aledmys Diaz: What do you make of my poor start?

Paul Sporer: Not too concerned with it, tbh. Still 5 HR and 3 SB. Walking a lot less, but otherwise everything else seems in order. Could see Diaz as a buy.

Linus: Is Keon Broxton interesting again in 10-team? Seems to be picking it up…

Paul Sporer: Hits in 9 of his last 11, but still a 31% K rate. Ride the wave while understanding that K% means another cold snap will come along

Ben: Better rest of season for H2H categories league with runs, RBIs, HRs, net SB, OPS? Asdrubal Cabrera or Tim Beckham

Paul Sporer: Asdrubal

Rice, Lynn, & Evans: Hey Paul. which side: Bundy, Mancini, Urias vs Pmmeranz and marcel Ozuna? Please contrast Bundy vs Pomeranz.

Paul Sporer: Think I prefer the Ozuna side.

Paul Sporer: Unless it’s keeper, then it’s tough to give Urias. As for Bundy-Pomy: both have injury issues, Pomy has a much better K%, Bundy still learning how to put away batters. Really like Bundy, but Pomy is definitely pitching better rn

Gorky: Aaron Altherr: you buying or selling?

Paul Sporer: Buying a bit. Snapped up a few shares this draft season. Love the power-speed capability

Boss Man: No real question. I just hate when players get off to fast starts and before you remember that you can’t count on them for ROS, they make you remember.

Moltar: Vargas or McCarthy ROS? Have to cut one before next week. On the one hand, I actually believe McCarthy is a good pitcher. On the other, I actually believe Vargas can stay healthy…

Paul Sporer: Vargas’s strikeout surge is supported so I think I’d go him bc as you mention, he’s the better bet to stay healthy for sure

Paul Sporer: First side, but it’s a fair deal

Zach: Sold my Thames and Darvish for Kershaw and Polanco. Also have Mazara to fill in for Thames. How’d I do?

Paul Sporer: I really like it, even with Polanco’s shoulder concerns. You got the best SP in the game! And Maz to fill in is very nice

Paul Sporer: I think he does, but it might not show up this year

Dungeon Master: kluber a long-term concern or should be still a 1/2 after DL stint? I have him locked up this year and next in keeper, wondering if I should sell off while value still high?

Paul Sporer: I’d probably look to sell. I don’t contract pitchers long-term.

Paul Sporer: ya, that’s pretty fair

John: Is Kyle Schwarber a buy low? In a standard roto lg avg not obp. And what should we expect of him the rest of the way?

Paul Sporer: I mean, he’s better than this, but I’ve found him wildly overrated for a while now

Jynx: Flipped Cesar Hernandez and Tijuan Walker for CarGo. Did I give up too much? 12 teamer

Paul Sporer: I think so, yeah. I think CarGo will get going, but that’s a hefty sum

Paul Sporer: Think I’d go for JD side. Wilson could get a crack very soon.

Paul Sporer: I think I’m at Morton, Cahill, Cotton, Ramirez — I know Ramirez has been better than Cotton thus far, but I’m not fully quitting Cotton

JimyJam: Would you trade away Marte for Brantley in a 12t H2H dynasty? Competing for the title this year.

Paul Sporer: Definitely

David B: If you were to sell E Santana, what kind of pitchers would you shoot for? Do you think he is a sell high guy?

Paul Sporer: Not sure anyone is paying big bucks. Maybe you could get like a Stroman or Porcello, but I dunno. No one is thinking Santana is a Cy Young candidate

Shawn: Agree with the comment on your Thames article. Too many “Buy-Low, Sell-High!” articles in the industry that don’t specify the players to target. Well done, Paul!
