2:23 |
Paul Sporer: Let’s talk some baseball!!
2:23 |
Blah: Arrieta 6Ks so far all swinging. Second half push coming from him?
2:23 |
Sam: McCullers or Conforto in a dynasty points league, keep forever
2:24 |
Paul Sporer: Conforto. I loooove McCullers, but betting on him long-term is scary. I’m going year-to-year with him
2:24 |
Gary: Hey Paul! I’ve been trying to pry away Rizzo in a Roto OBP to take advantage of his 2B elig, when he gets it. Would trading away Rendon/Upton for Rizzo/Salazar be worth the 2B power upgrade (I have Odor currently). Thanks!
2:25 |
Paul Sporer: I mean Rendon has been pretty amazing. That’s not a bad deal if you buy Salazar returning to do something of note
2:25 |
Bruce: Is Villar basically a 1-dimension speed guy at this point, like any better than Mallex, maybin, etc?
2:27 |
Paul Sporer: I mean he does still have 8 taters so he’s better than Mallex there, but Mallex has the AVG
2:27 |
Big Tuna: I’m in contention and going for it. Should I trade keepable Berrios, keepable Domingo and keepable Fulmer for non-keeper Kershaw?
2:28 |
Paul Sporer: Daaaaamn that’s quite a trade. I think you go for the gold man!
2:30 |
Alex: Paulie my boy! Now you’se can’t leave.
2:30 |
Paul Sporer: Here for a little while!
2:30 |
Kevin Durant’s Pants: Paul, how would you rank these players in a Dynasty league; Moncada, W Contreras, Mazara, and I Happ
2:30 |
Paul Sporer: Interesting group. Think I might go the order you’ve listed. Sucker for Contreras being C. No shade on Happ, either, just a strong group
2:31 |
Dan: Thoughts about McHugh’s return? Gotta pick-up in a 12-teamer?
2:31 |
Paul Sporer: There is at least one roster in pretty much any 12-teamer that should have him
2:31 |
Dan: Drop Newcomb for Castillo or Kuhl?
2:31 |
My Name: If you could pick 3 teams that you have no affiliation with/rooting interest for to win the next 3 world series’ who would you pick?
2:32 |
Paul Sporer: Houston, Colorado, Milwaukee
2:33 |
Paul Sporer: He’s fringe right now, so I can see it. I kinda feel like he’s going to get going a bit in the 2H, but he’s gotta stop popping up every other AB
2:33 |
Edwin: Does anyone get excited about reading “Bold Predictions” , or (better yet) mid-season updates on those predictions? I’m curious if anyone gets any value out of the multitude of these lists we’re faced with each year. Am I missing something?
2:33 |
Paul Sporer: You’re allowed to skip em if you don’t dig em 🙂
2:33 |
Guest: Who is safe bet to close if J Wilson traded?
2:34 |
Paul Sporer: No one is a safe bet. Think Rondon gets the first shot, though I’d prefer Greene
2:34 |
Big Tuna: In a 12 tm keeper I was gonna add Willie Calhoun in hopes the Dodgers trade him. Is that over-thinking too much?
2:34 |
Paul Sporer: No, that can be pretty savvy if he goes somewhere that calls him up. As long as your’e not going someone really good to do it
2:34 |
Sterling Mallory Chris Archer: Do you mind if I ask all my questions at once if they’re short? Boegarts for DeGrom fair? Is Donaldson not going to Donaldson ROS? How many steals for Whit ROS? Why are you so great at what you do?
2:35 |
Paul Sporer: Sure. Yes. Prob not full on JD. 12. I *really* appreciate that compliment.
2:35 |
Ken: Loved the pod this week, super helpful stuff. What kind of odds do you give Clippard for keeping the job? Trying to decide if it’s worth making room for stashing Swarzack.
2:35 |
Paul Sporer: 42%. Unless you really need saves, don’t stash Swarz right now
2:35 |
In 2nd place… : Trout 4th rd, Betts 17th rd, Machado 21st rd and T. Turner 23rd rd. Trade one, keep 3….who are your moving?
2:36 |
Paul Sporer: Don’t wanna trade Trout and the last 2 aren’t at peak value so Betts prob gives most bang for buck right now
2:36 |
Big Tuna: MLB Trade Rumors wrote today in a section on Nationals trade rumors that Trea is likely out for all of 2017. Is that true!? Please, no!
2:36 |
Paul Sporer: It’s certainly possible. We’ve gotten jack shit on a timeline.
2:36 |
Matt: Does Dahl get enough playing time to be a fantasy asset this season?
2:36 |
Paul Sporer: Can’t get a read on that sitch at all. First he’s done, then he’s definitely back, then maybe not.
2:36 |
Nick: Was offered Kyle Tucker and Schebler for Stras and Cahill in a keeper league…take it or leave it?
2:37 |
Paul Sporer: Tucker is a pretty big prospect so if you’re looking to the future it seems doable
2:39 |
Ken: Also, any update on your Rondon/Greene feelings? Haven’t really watched the Tigers at all this season.
2:39 |
Paul Sporer: Honestly it’s prob smart to go Rondon in 9th and give him clean innings bc Greene is better being the fireman, but from a fantasy standpoint I’d prefer Greene getting the saves bc he’s better
2:39 |
Big Tuna: What kind of fantasy impact will Carson Kelly have? Worth adding in keeper leagues?
2:42 |
Paul Sporer: Meh, I’m not too interested
2:42 |
Carlos: How do you view Bregman’s value in a dynasty format? Top 25? Top 50?
2:42 |
Paul Sporer: Closer to top 80, not 50
2:42 |
Lightning: Which two would you keep ($260): Ray $3, Fulmer $5, Wood, $3, Darvish $13. Who could be third?
2:42 |
Paul Sporer: Fulmer, Wood, Darvish, Ray
2:43 |
Big Tuna: In a vacuum is keeper Berrios and non keeper Yelich too much to give up in a 12 tm OPS for non keeper Cano?
2:43 |
Paul Sporer: No I don’t think so
2:43 |
Chris: I’ve been handing onto Brad Hand – think he’s on the move? And if so, is he closing wherever he winds up? I’m tempted to ditch him with all the apparent new closers showing up this week.
2:43 |
Paul Sporer: Probably not closing when he’s moved, tbh
2:43 |
Brandon : Traded away Villar and S. Gray
2:43 |
Mamamamama: Traded away Moustakas and Haniger for Beltre and Pham. How did I do?
2:43 |
Paul Sporer: That’s pretty good
2:43 |
Chris: Is Parra a starter in 12-teamers? Dump Dyson for him?
2:45 |
Paul Sporer: Ya I think I’d do that
2:45 |
Super Benintendo Chalmers: ROS: Matz, Clevenger or streamer?
2:45 |
Detroit’s Most Wanted: If you are in a h2h pts league with playoffs, should you fear Strasburg being shut down in semis and/or finals if the Nats run away with the NL East as they are? Nervous to trade for him, should already make the playoffs.
2:45 |
Paul Sporer: I don’t see that happening
2:45 |
Nicholas: Hey Paul. Who would you rather have for ROS? Felix or Tehran? Gotta drop one. 12 tm mixed
2:45 |
Paul Sporer: Eek. At least I can feel confident using Teheran on the road, I don’t really feel good about Felix anywhere
2:46 |
Different Paul: Traded Alonso for Nova. Did I get enough? I needed a pitcher.
2:46 |
Paul Sporer: It’s not bad. He’s a good ratio play for sure
2:46 |
Detroit’s Most Wanted: Tommy. Pham.
2:46 |
Paul Sporer: Such a beast!
2:48 |
BP for my Byung Ho: My Matz, Jim Johnson and Mancini for Cespedes? 16 team league
2:48 |
Paul Sporer: Ya that’s a good buy low on Yo, but I do worry that he’s playing through nagging injuries that will keep him relatively meh
2:48 |
Paul Sporer: No, it’d have to be an elite closer and it probably still wouldn’t get it done, IMO
2:48 |
Don: Pick one to drop Rosenthal, Brach or A. Sanchez(Frustrating cuz he keeps going on the DL)
2:49 |
Paul Sporer: Gotta hold Brach for sure bc of Britton rumors. So it’s Rosy v. Sanchez. If you have other saves in addition to Brach, you can drop Rosy, but he should have that damn job
2:49 |
Paul Sporer: Sanchez just might not get right with his fingers all year
2:50 |
Paul Sporer: I’m torn bc I think Rosy will get that gig soon. So ya, Rosy if you have other closers w/Brach. Sanchez if you’re tight on saves
2:53 |
Le Sigh: So I lost Correa. Picked up Arcia and then Nunez got dropped. Switch to Nunez?
2:53 |
Paul Sporer: You can, they’re pretty similar
2:54 |
Jackson: Is it better to take a chance on keeping Devers ($2) (or any top prospect) over a proven stud like Betts ($50)? Bryant, Trout each cost $65+ fwiw
2:54 |
Paul Sporer: Depends what the rest of your crew looks like. I’m always trying to compete in the given yr so I’d go Betts
2:54 |
Le Groan: My Arenado and Addison Reed for his Stanton and Gyorko? Jedd would be my SS.
2:54 |
Paul Sporer: That’s not bad
2:55 |
Rake: How much would you trade for Syndergaard for just this season?
2:55 |
Paul Sporer: Not much at all
2:55 |
Paul Sporer: Is he gonna pitch this yr?
2:55 |
Jack: Anything Javier Baez is doing that suggests he might be doing something different? He’s looked good of late.
2:56 |
Paul Sporer: Nah just a nice run from a quality player
2:56 |
Detroit’s Most Wanted: I think whoever gets Verlander at the deadline, should he get traded and Detroit takes on $$, will be v happy with what they get. Velo still up and he’s only going to be better, think the Brewers, Cubs, or Astros ante up?
2:57 |
Paul Sporer: He has just the one clunker over his last 10. Looks like he’s starting to come around. I really hope Detroit takes the $ if they make the move so they can actually get something good in return otherwise it’s hard to get top flight prospects when the other tm is paying $60 milly
2:57 |
Nicklaus: Acuna or Devers? Thinking in dynasty settings.
2:57 |
Gary Busey: In a 12 team keep 5 league…going for it this year but need pitching to compete. Trade 5 years of Trae for Wood, Severino and Berrios who all can be kept for 6 years? Who wins that deal…
2:58 |
Paul Sporer: Love that deal for you given your circumstances. Betting on young pitching is risky going forward beyond ’17, but that’s 3 impact arms for you this yr
2:58 |
CarGo Ship Sinks: CarGo for Brad Peacock fair at this point? Or hold onto CarGo?
2:58 |
Paul Sporer: I’d take Peacock
2:58 |
Paul Sporer: LOL, right? Tom Henke making a return
2:58 |
TJ: I’m going for it this year but was offered 4 year keeper at $1 Margot for Jeff Samardja who is a non keeper. Too much value not to take it?
2:59 |
Paul Sporer: Gotta figure out how much losing Shark hurts your pitching, but maybe getting Margot offsets it with his speed
2:59 |
Trevor Williams: Decent pedigree, 2nd rd.Decent swinging strike roughly 9-10percent. 2.57 fip over last 30 days. Is this a guy who is being overlooked?
3:00 |
Paul Sporer: He’s ok. Maybe a home-only starter
3:00 |
BP for my Byung Ho: Is avg a new under priced commodity? With the power explosion dingers are easy to find, but guys with dingers AND >.290avgs seem even more rare. Am I wrong?
3:00 |
Paul Sporer: I’m not sure if it’s underpriced, but definitely a very valuable commodity in this strikeout-heavy landscape
3:00 |
Milk: Goldy + Robbie Ray for Bryant + Carrasco? OBP 12 team redraft. Biggest concern is fewer RBI from Bryant.
3:00 |
Paul Sporer: Cubs are heating up, RBIs will come
3:01 |
Timo P: Was offered Conforto for Thames. Who would you take?
3:01 |
Paul Sporer: Sure, it’s perfectly fine
3:01 |
Phil: Strasbourg or Degrom: who would you prefer as your ace for the next 4 yrs?
3:01 |
Paul Sporer: Sooo far out to project SPs. I’d say deGrom
3:01 |
Strosfan: Do you think Bregman breaks out of his Sophmore slump? And do you think he’ll get SS eligibility?
3:02 |
Paul Sporer: Not even sure it’s a soph slump, he’s not far off his ’16 numbers. Can def see him getting SS reps
3:02 |
Shawn: Expecting Salazar to be better when he’s back, or more of the same?
3:05 |
Paul Sporer: Hoping for better for sure
3:05 |
Paul Sporer: I’ve always like Gonzales as a solid #4. Seems to finally be healthy again. I’m intrigued
3:06 |
weezy: so I am waaaay ahead in ERA, WHIP and K’s in my Keeper OBP league (I went Scherzer/Kershaw plus $1 guys), and just swapped Alex Wood for Michael Conforto. I like Conforto’s long term keeper prospects more. How’d I do?
3:06 |
weezy: to Edwin: I love the midseason update on bold predictions 🙂
3:06 |
Noah: Who do you like best among Pham, Domingo and Desmond?
3:07 |
Paul Sporer: Gotta go Domingo as he does what Pham does with certainty of playing time and youth on his side
3:07 |
DarkWing Duck: Cobb for Trevor Bauer, Gsellman, and Finnegan in 16 team ESPN Points league? If not, who is a good player to target for Cobb considering I’m not competing for next few years.
3:07 |
Paul Sporer: You’re getting all three? That’s not bad
3:07 |
Sammy Mess: At what point do you cut bait on Brandon Crawford…or has that time already passed and I’m a bit slow?
3:08 |
Paul Sporer: The dearth of SS has made it harder, but it’s time in 10 and 12 teamers. Not sure there’s much else to get in leagues deeper than that
3:08 |
7: Al only – my Moncada for his Machado. 6×6. Can’t keep either player into 2018. Thanks
3:08 |
Paul Sporer: Can’t keep Moncada?!?! Def get Machado then
3:09 |
Bart: I was offered Thames, Abreu and I Happ for my Freeman. Trade or Hold? Would drop Broxton and either J Mont or J Hoffman. 12 tm keeper.
3:09 |
Paul Sporer: Prefer to consolidate talent in 10/12 teamers for sure. I’d hold.
3:09 |
Ricky: Paul – in redraft league, last place team traded Kluber to 1st place team for Arcia/Faria. League tried to veto, but commish let it go through. What trade rules can we make next season to prevent these obscenely unfair trades from happening?
3:10 |
Paul Sporer: Can say after All-Star break, you can only trade 2 spots above and below? Last place can trade 4 spots up since no one is below and First can trade 4 down
3:10 |
Paul Sporer: So limit the ability for a last place team to give away stuff to a top tm
3:13 |
Sterling Mallory Chris Archer: Can you retroactively rate my trade from May: give McCullers and Wil Myers get Joey Votto. I should send the other guy roses right?
3:13 |
Paul Sporer: Haha you’re just bragging now 🙂
3:13 |
Sebastian: If Ozzie gets the call, should he be an immediate add in redrafts if Baez is my SS?
3:13 |
Paul Sporer: Ehh, I don’t think he’s an auto must-add
3:13 |
Don: Im having a hard time picking a C for my 10 team roto. Who should I choose? Weiters, Castillo, MArtin, Ramos, Hedges or Zunino.
3:13 |
Paul Sporer: I like Ramos
3:13 |
Kevin: We had a controversy last night in our league (12 team) because I traded Ryan Zimmerman for Jon Gray. Everyone thought I was insane. They’re too enamored with his early season beasting, right?
3:14 |
Paul Sporer: Yes, they are. .778 OPS since May 21st
3:14 |
Domingo Santana: I’m having a pretty good year. Do I get 25hrs and 12SBs this year? What would you say my line is next year?
3:15 |
Paul Sporer: Ya I think so. As for next year, I’d project something similar
3:15 |
le puke: My pitching is awful. My Arenado for his Kershaw and Thames/McCutcheon? Hitting is worth about 25% more than equal pitching in this league.
3:15 |
Paul Sporer: Ya that works. Take Cutch
3:15 |
Adam: What are you expecting from Hendricks ROS – do his rehab starts give you any reason for optimism that he earns a promotion out of your SS tier?
3:16 |
Paul Sporer: Gotta see some MLB work. I don’t move too much on rehab starts one way or the other
3:16 |
Flynn: Severino is a stud. Is it all related to his elite FB? Where does he go in the draft next year?
3:17 |
Paul Sporer: Ya he’s a beast. Fastball sets up everything for just about every pitch. His has been tremendous this year. Top 30 SP rn. Gotta see how he finishes up
3:17 |
Paul Sporer: Really love that for the Turner acquirer
3:18 |
Paul Sporer: Rizzo, JD, Contreras, Santana and one of the pitchers. Really not sure which I favor most. Martinez probably
3:18 |
Estuve : Madbum’ velo crept up slightly last night’s start – what are your expectations for him returning to his old self?
3:18 |
Paul Sporer: Ya I’ve felt he’ll be himself ROS
3:18 |
Eric: Would you start Godley vs. the Nationals or is this a good one to skip?
3:18 |
Paul Sporer: Def skippable
3:18 |
Juiced Balls: Manaea will be a top ____ SP next year?
3:18 |
longbeach3: What up Paul? Is Peacock a keep or a sell relatively mid-high?
3:18 |
Paul Sporer: The sell return definitely determines it, but I think I’d just hold
3:19 |
Joe Maddon : What am I to do with Schwarber? He will be a _________ hitter next year.
3:19 |
Mike: Lester and Duvall for Pollock and Sonny Gray. Which side do you want?
3:19 |
Paul Sporer: The latter by a nose
3:19 |
Paul Sporer: No I love that. FFF!!!
3:19 |
Big Tuna: Re: trading for upgrades in roto. Are we too far into the season to make real gains in ratio categories like ERA and WHIP?
3:20 |
Paul Sporer: No we’re not. Common misconception. The ratio stats are often tightly bunched so moves are still VERY possible
3:20 |
Adam: Have any teams been specific linked to Samardzija trade discussions? Trying to decide whether to deal for him in NL-only.
3:20 |
Paul Sporer: I haven’t, sorry
3:20 |
Joshy: Andrus is slipping try and trade or just a blip?
3:20 |
Paul Sporer: Blip, IMO. That new baby might be keeping him up lol
3:20 |
YKnotDisco?!: IRL: Conforto or Bellinger?
3:21 |
Stros: Odds Peacock gets bumped from rotation?
3:21 |
John: I have a bench spot available in a roto league. Devers is available. Should I grab him or is a promotion more likely to happen in September?
3:21 |
Paul Sporer: If you have a free spot you can take the shot, but I think they address 3B via trade and he’s not up til Sept if at all
3:21 |
Gary Busey: Does Carmo need to get rid of the blue dreds? He had them today and past few starts and hes been bad and the K’s are gone.
3:21 |
Paul Sporer: Obv the hair has nothing to do with performance, but it’s v ugly
3:22 |
Moltar: I’m in first place by a good amount. Am I crazy to want to trade my Lindor for Correa? 12tm keep-6 h2h points, both guys are comparably priced keeper assets. I think I can survive the missed production for the next 6 weeks as long as Correa is back for the playoffs, and I just think he’s a better fantasy asset. I’m crazy, right?
3:22 |
Paul Sporer: It’s definitely risky, but I like Correa over him for the future, too so I might make the move
3:22 |
Zach: What is Tyson Ross? Any hope ROS and/or 2018?
3:23 |
Paul Sporer: He was always a 2018 guy for me this yr. I just didn’t want any part. Thoracic outlet syndrome has terrible results and it’s still pretty new so I was just passing
3:23 |
Juiced Balls: Marco Gonzo in SEA? Worth a second look for this year?
3:23 |
Paul Sporer: Ya, intrigued for AL Only
3:23 |
Andrew Triggskaedekaphobia: I can keep judge in the 20th round for 2018 only.
3:23 |
Moltar: I know I missed my window to sell high on Vargas, but is he headed for drops-ville? It’s gonna be him or Maeda when keuchel comes back pending some new injury elsewhere.
3:24 |
Paul Sporer: I don’t think you ever could’ve really sold *high*. 2 straight duds has me watching, but if he bounces back from this one, I’m fine hanging on
3:24 |
Narddog: Enough from Big Tuna!
3:24 |
Paul Sporer: Sorry I don’t always see the name
3:24 |
Chris: Cahill still sitting on WW in my league. I’m so sour based on past years. Should I suck it up and pick him up? Prefer him over Maeda or Godley? QS league
3:25 |
Paul Sporer: Maeda. Maeda doesn’t really go 6 often enough to be worthy in QS lg
3:25 |
Andrew Triggskaedekaphobia: I can keep Judge in the 20th round for 2018 only. Which trade do you prefer: (a) Judge for Goldy (1st round keeper cost) or (b) Judge and Berrios (also 20th round keeper) for Jose Ramirez (1st round keeper), Strasburg, and Shark?
3:25 |
Paul Sporer: Ah you hit enter too soon on the first one. Hmm, think I’d get Goldy if I’m trading Judge
3:25 |
Tommy: Still want any shares of Cotton? What a difference a year makes…….
3:26 |
Paul Sporer: Not even a year. And yes, I do in deeper leagues. His command just isn’t what it was last year and that’s why you have to be careful with judging off a month. I knew the risk, but I was sold on the stuff and command
3:26 |
bob loblaw: i like reading the miseason updates on predictions!
3:26 |
bob loblaw:
3:26 |
longbeach3: Do you lean Simmons or Story?
3:26 |
Paul Sporer: Story, I’m a suck for Story
3:26 |
I Dislike Turtles: Flipped a lucky Faria for a shaky Lester. Good trade or is this tomayto-tomahto?
3:27 |
Paul Sporer: I don’t think it’s just luck, but I dig the deal. That’s a classic sell high
3:27 |
Coach K: Buxton over .300 in last month. Mirage, or something clicking… finally?
3:27 |
Paul Sporer:
Who gets their mini-streaks more overhyped?
Buxton (29.1% | 14 votes)
Schwarber (70.8% | 34 votes)
Total Votes: 48
3:28 |
Taylor: Better keeper, Conforto at $1 or JD at $18??
3:28 |
Paul Sporer: I love JD, but the $17 savings pushes it to Conforto
3:28 |
Shuck Bowalter: Are you starting Godley tonight in Was?
3:28 |
Paul Sporer: Love Godley, but I’m cool passing on this one
3:28 |
Greg: Jo-Mo (are we calling him Jo-Mo?) got dropped in my 12-teamer. Pick him up, or wait to see if he can stop getting wrecked first?
3:29 |
Paul Sporer: Depends who you’re cutting, but I’d try to scoop him
3:30 |
Tommy: Conforto, Bellinger, Shaw, Dickerson, Carpenter: I can play three of these five on a daily basis; which three should it be?
3:31 |
Paul Sporer: Damn that’s tough af. I think Carp is gonna have a big 2H, but I think you gotta roll Conforto, CDick, Belly. That’s so hard. Think you gotta look for matchups, espec. since they’re all lefties
3:31 |
Ray Liotta as Shoeless Joe: A. Sanchez is Anibal! [Probably not, but maybe]?
3:31 |
Paul Sporer: Think it’s Aaron lol
3:31 |
seth: Rivero or Norris good buy low closers with all the trade fears floating around?
3:31 |
Paul Sporer: If Rivero is lowered in price, I’m in for sure
3:31 |
Paul Sporer: That’s a pretty good return, yes
3:31 |
Don: Just wanted to say thank you for all your great help!!!
3:32 |
Paul Sporer: Pedigree, but I’m just not sold that he has a sky-high ceiling anymore
3:32 |
Robert: In a weekly league without batting average, would you start Kyle Schwarber or Wilson Contreras on a week-to-week basis at catcher?
3:32 |
John: Is Schwarber going to stop murdering my team anytime soon and actually hit?
3:32 |
Paul Sporer: I’d go Contreras. I’ve always felt Schwarber was WILDLY overrated.
3:32 |
Dflah: Do you buy this version of Travis Shaw ROS? Beyond in a 12 tm keeper?
3:33 |
Paul Sporer: I do buy this version. One of my favorite things about him was his SB potential w/MIL

Kelly Criterion: Will we know Turner is out for the year if / when the Nats trade for a shortstop?
3:33 |
Paul Sporer: If they do, I think that’d be a sign, yes
3:33 |
James: How much of Kelvin Herrera’s woes deserve to be blamed on him? 21.1% HR/FB rate!
3:34 |
Paul Sporer: He contributes to that, though. A HR/FB rate isn’t just a luck-o-meter. He’s serving up meatballs to let it get that high, too.
3:34 |
Paul Sporer: Now it may regress, but I don’t think it just happened to him
3:34 |
John: How do you view F. Mejia as a major leaguer? Love the hit tool, the C eligibility, and the fact that no one of note is blocking him. Up this year?
3:35 |
Paul Sporer: I don’t f with C prospects at all
3:35 |
Paul Sporer: They regularly take longer to develop and just aren’t worth the trouble, IMO
3:35 |
Ryan: Re: Bold Predictions– I get absolutely no fantasy value out of them, but I still greatly enjoy reading both the initial predictions and the follow-up columns.
3:36 |
Paul Sporer: The initial ones are meant to be flags planted in players when they’re positive. For example, I was hyped on Ozuna this year so I tabbed him with a BP and if ppl dug my reasoning, maybe they’d jump on board and move him up their list a little.
3:36 |
Jack : Thoughts on Starlin Castro ROS? Started strong but I’m worried he is reverting to his old ways.
3:37 |
Paul Sporer: It was AVG-based so those breakouts can be tough to bet on, but I don’t think we’re in the panic zone yet
3:37 |
Joe: My Nova and Panik for his Schleber and Lackey in an NL only. Worth it?
3:37 |
Paul Sporer: Prob just hold
3:37 |
Matt: Paul, why must the fantasy gods frown upon me? First I lost Trout, then Turner, now Trout comes back and I lose Correa. On top of that, Britton spent significant time on the DL, Beltre started there and I lost Eaton early on too.
3:38 |
Paul Sporer: Daaaamn. Sometimes it’s just a tough year regardless of how strong the process is
3:38 |
John: Debating keeping Robby Ray or Keuchel for next year (keep forever, no cost difference). Who do you prefer?
3:38 |
Paul Sporer: Think you gotta favor Keuchel with all else equal
3:38 |
John: What do you think about Ryon Healy long term? Numbers are damn solid
3:39 |
Paul Sporer: I like him. I don’t see a ton of ceiling, but just a solid bat for the next few yrs
3:39 |
Hannah Hochevar: I’m scared about Jake “Eggs” Odorizzi and his HR/FB rate. Are you?
3:39 |
Paul Sporer: I am indeed. Like the talent, but stop with the meatballs!!
3:39 |
Hannah Hochevar: Hi Paul. Wondering who you like for the TB saves handicap: Hunter or Foxy Boxy?
3:39 |
Paul Sporer: I don’t see Colome moving
3:39 |
Mounds: In a full dynasty league: traded Altuve for Moncada and Lindor. Who wins?
3:40 |
Paul Sporer: That’s pretty fair, I have a hard time picking a decisive winner
3:43 |
Paul Sporer: OK yall, I’m staaarrrrvvviinnngg and I’m built like Chris Sale and Carl Edwards Jr. so I can’t afford to skip meals. I gotta roll.
3:43 |
Mark: Should Lindor stop hitting so many fly balls and revert to his batted ball profile from last year?
3:43 |
Dres: Is MLB.tv the best or what? Really good media app. Any news on blackout restrictions?
3:43 |
Paul Sporer: It’s amazing, espec. if you live out of market from your favorite team
3:45 |
