Ottoneu April Power Rankings
Starting in July of last season I began posting monthly power rankings for ottoneu FanGraphs points leagues, taking up the mantle of work previously done by Nate Emmerson (who was gracious enough to share his process and python scripts with me). With April in the books, it’s time for the first edition of the 2016 power rankings, and this time I am including rankings for all four ottoneu formats.
The first ranking I’m going to present shows the top individual teams in all FanGraphs points leagues based on their Pace, which is a metric I calculated by taking each team’s Pts/G and Pts/IP and multiplying them by their projected games (max of 1,944) and innings (max of 1,500).

We’re only one month into the season, but right now eight teams are on pace to eclipse the record for most points scored in a FanGraphs points league, set last year by the Durham Tobacconists in league #52 with 20,530. As a whole, teams are averaging 5.04 Pts/G and 5.19 Pts/IP this year, compared to 4.92 Pts/G and 5.14 Pts/IP in 2015.
Next up is a ranking of the top 10 FanGraphs points leagues, and I want to be very clear that this ranking is not intended to be scientific in any way, but is rather my attempt to capture which leagues are performing the best in aggregate and which leagues offer the most competition. I do this by ranking all leagues based on the total Pace of their teams (to measure league-wide efficiency) , and the total Pace of just the top six teams in the league (as a proxy for how competitive a league is). In the future I will be adding a third component that will be based on how close the top few teams are to give credit for leagues with multiple teams still in the race.
