Here is today’s chat transcript
9:19 |
Justin Mason: Chat will begin at the top of the hour as long as we have enough questions. In the meantime, please follow me on all my social media’s (twitter, tiktok, facebook, youtube, and instagram) at JustinMasonFWFB! I am doing regular podcasts on the FWFB podcast as well as three episodes a week for the Sleeper and the Bust so definitely make sure you are subscribed there as well!
10:00 |
Nate: How much higher would you have taken Bryce Harper in drafts had you known he’d beat his return timetable by almost 3 months?
10:00 |
Justin Mason: I think I would have taken him in the top 100.
10:01 |
Justin Mason: 15 homers, .260 BA?
10:02 |
Chantanella: Dynasty Roto 6×6 w/OPS & QS (12-team)
I have been destroyed by injuries to my MI (Seager, Lux, Rodgers, Arcia) and am getting nothing from the replacements. I don’t want to move Judge but am considering an offer of Judge for Pasquantino (could definitely use CI help, too) and B. Lowe?
Not enough value in return, am I asking for too much, or about right?
10:02 |
Justin Mason: I can understand making that move, but that is really tough. I think you aren’t getting quite enough
10:02 |
pat burrell’s ghost: dear justin! in a 6×6 (+obp) 12 team redraft, which OF would you rather target for a trade: kelenic/buxton/bellinger, and if possible can you add a why?
10:03 |
Justin Mason: I think I want Kelenic. The ceiling is just so damn high and we are already seeing it.
10:03 |
Justin Mason: I think I would for now.
10:03 |
Ed: Any thoughts on Yelich so far? The counting stats are alright but the K rate is nearly 30%
10:04 |
Justin Mason: I think that is an aberration. Swinging strike rate is only 12.5%
10:04 |
Guest: Do you think Rasmussen will have more good starts than bad?
10:04 |
Justin Mason: I do. I am a big fan
10:04 |
Matt W.: Hi Justin, What are you doing with Kopech this week?
10:04 |
Justin Mason: I just sat him in my main event for Will Smith
10:04 |
Guest: 12 team roto with QS instead of W….you going with 2 start Roansy (TOR/TB), 2 start Gore (CHC/ARZ) or avoiding those matchups for Strahm against LAD?
10:04 |
Justin Mason: I am starting Gore
10:05 |
Ed Figuringitouta: Zach Neto heading for stardom or AAAA?
10:05 |
Justin Mason: Too early to tell.
10:05 |
Matt: Time to cut bait with Abreu yet? This has been a disaster
10:06 |
Justin Mason: Depends on depth of the league, but I am holding right now.
10:06 |
Justin Mason: Good time to remind everyone to give your league context. League size and format
10:06 |
TribeToTheEnd: How quickly do you re-evaluate prospects in a dynasty league based on a hot start to the season? Realize there’s a ton of factors in play, but does (for example) a month of 200 wrc+ from a FV45 outweigh an average start from a FV50 at the same age / level?
10:09 |
Justin Mason: I think now that we can get stat cast data more regularly, we can be bit more aggressive with reevaluating. I think a month in we can begin the process
10:09 |
Colton: Good morning! Thanks for the chat! I’m considering picking up Mason Miller in a H2H points, dynasty format league for Lance Lynn. Would you do that? League is heavily weighted to pitchers who get strikeouts in bunches
10:09 |
Justin Mason: I don’t think I would do that personally, but I can understand wanting to.
10:09 |
copecru81: Berrios for Arenado straight up? 20 team points league
10:09 |
Justin Mason: I want the Arenado side of that
10:09 |
randy: Is Stone worth picking up for his debut?
10:10 |
Justin Mason: Depends on the size of the league, but it doesn’t seem likely he goes extremely deep in his debut
10:10 |
Chantanella: 12-team, Roto, Dynasty, 6×6 w/QS and OPS
Guy in my league is wanting my Webb for his Stott. I can use MI bad but don’t feel the value is equal. My Webb for his Hoerner more even?
10:10 |
Justin Mason: Webb for Hoerner is more fair. Stott is good but not Webb good.
10:11 |
DH: Hey Justin! Any thoughts on Ben Brown? Looking at his stats in AA, he looks like he’s more or less pulling an Andrew Abbott and just got called to AAA Iowa. Do you think he, like Abbott, may have fantasy relevance this summer?
10:11 |
Justin Mason: To be quite honest, I don’t know enough about him to guide you properly.
10:11 |
Justin Mason: Good morning!
10:11 |
Fleur de (Ado)Lis: Spent a LOT of FAAB for Bibee, Perdomo and Wade Jr. But other than OF I have a pretty solid core so feel good about it. What’s the point of having FAAB if you don’t use it, right?
10:12 |
Justin Mason: I don’t like spending large amounts of FAAB this yearly in the season, but I did yesterday because I need pitching so badly.
10:12 |
1B Dilemma: I have to activate Tim Anderson and I’m between cutting Josh Bell and Josh Naylor. Naylor can’t hit lefties, but I feel that I should drop Bell because I think Naylor has more upside?
10:12 |
Justin Mason: I’d drop Naylor
10:12 |
I Used to be Mel Clark: Please help me keep my expectations for Bibee in check.
10:12 |
Justin Mason: I will do no such thing.
10:13 |
Tim: Marsh, Rooker, Suwinski – which OF do you like ROS?
10:13 |
Dan: 16 team points league with weekly lineups. Need to start 2 of Lynn vs Cinn, Rasmussen vs NYY, Grayson vs Atl or KC?, German vs Clev & TB, or Wesneski vs Wash and Miami (going against Alcantara). Thanks.
10:13 |
Justin Mason: Wesneski and Rasmussen
10:14 |
Fleur de (Ado)Lis: I’m keenly waiting for Manzardo to get the call, does Yandy getting dinged up hasten that call, or is it just futile to predict what the Rays do with….anything?
10:14 |
Justin Mason: It is so hard to predict when Rays guys will be up. I think Curtis Mead comes up before Kyle Mazardo as well.
10:14 |
Spach: Morning! I have Ohtani, Kerhsaw, Javier, Kirby, Steele, Bibee, Pfaadt and Lynn for SP. Who should I drop when Glasnow comes back? Has to be Lynn, right?
10:15 |
Justin Mason: Right now it is Lynn, but that may change in a few weeks by the time Glasnow is actually back.
10:15 |
Dave: (1C/12 team mixed league) Is Jonah Heim “for real” enough, that I should try to trade Sal Perez for help at another position of need?
10:16 |
Justin Mason: Plate skills and statcast data are really nice. I am buying.
10:16 |
Justin Mason: So yes, I would move Sal for another need.
10:16 |
Underrated/Overrated: My two biggest trade targets were George Springer and Starling Marte and I flipped Kris Bryant for Starling Marte straight up. It looks like Kris Bryant barely has 20 HR power in a bad line-up so I’m looking to move him. This evaluation feel right?
10:16 |
Justin Mason: I agree here
10:17 |
Ry: Really want to add bibee in a 10 team h2h league. Would you drop mikolas or Wesneski for him? Could possibly drop o.arcia coming off IL
10:17 |
Justin Mason: I would drop Mikolas
10:17 |
Billy: In my OBP league with K’s as a hitter category, I’ve been very active making trades.
Gave: Machado Bichette Olson Javier Volpe K. Marte
Got: Betts Bregman Correa Yelich
10:17 |
Justin Mason: I am not a fan of this
10:18 |
Tim: In re-draft leagues, is it worth holding onto Oneil Cruz? We only have 2 IL spots and my bench is crowded.
10:18 |
Ren-done?: How much more leash we giving Rendon? His plate discipline is elite and his average exit velo is in the 70th percentile. That being said he hasn’t even hit a home run
10:19 |
Justin Mason: He has become a slap hitter with very few barrels. I don’t mind moving on
10:19 |
NC: Which of the Reds pitchers do you like best ROS – Lodolo, Greene, or Ashcraft?
10:19 |
Billy: Ignore my message please, I accidentally sent it. I realized it was too long and was trying to delete but pressed enter
10:19 |
Justin Mason: Too late Billy!
10:20 |
Bob: When does Bobby Witt Jr. start getting the disrespect he deserves?
10:20 |
Justin Mason: Why does he deserve disrespect?!
10:20 |
AJ: How are you looking at guys like Rooker & Burger rest of season plays. Especially in AL leagues.
10:20 |
Justin Mason: In AL only, you need anyone with a pulse. Both should play a lot because the A’s suck and Moncada might be toast with his back issue.
10:21 |
Newby: Should I put Ohtani in my lineup as a pitcher or hitter for the best value?
10:21 |
Justin Mason: Mostly hitter unless you have a two start, short week for the Angels or really need the pitching stats.
10:22 |
Tim: In deeper leagues where all closers, co-closers, and effective primary set-up men are rostered, who are some relief candidates you could see getting a sizable portion of their team’s remaining save opportunities?
10:24 |
Mookie Dookie: I know its still a couple weeks away but in a 12tm h2h who would you drop to activate Glasnow JoMo Cobb or Eflin?
10:24 |
Ned: 12tm H2H pls rank: b donovan, olivares, siri, luke raley. thx
10:24 |
Justin Mason: That is the correct order
10:24 |
Jeff!: Dealing with a roster crunch in my 12-team 5×5 roto league (stashing Taj Bradley and Jordan Walker). Have a rotation of Burnes, Darvish, Kirby, Heaney, Detmers, Grayson Rodriguez, and Bibee. On waivers right now are Sale, Senga, Cobb, and Martin Perez. Drop any of my SPs for those guys?
10:25 |
Justin Mason: I would drop Grayson for Cobb or Sale in a non-keeper
10:25 |
Carlos: Thx Justin – 12-tm redraft, pts league – would you cut underperforming OFs R. Greene or Nootbaar for the likes of Olivares, R. Castro, Steer, Friedl, E. Sosa, E. Duran, Laureano, Larnach…grasping here.
10:25 |
Justin Mason: Drop Greene for Duran
10:25 |
Justin Mason: Actually, for Friedl
10:25 |
Mookie Dookie: Pfaadt called up this week? What do u expect from him once he is?
10:26 |
Justin Mason: I think he up next week. Could be a major impact arm.
10:26 |
Nickles: I was offered Lance Lynn for Jose Abreu. Should I do it? I need pitching and have patched together something resembling an acceptable alternative at first (JD Davis and Wil Myers) and my starting pitching has been bad.
10:26 |
NC: ROS rank: Eloy, Bryant, Rooker, Vaughn, Yoshida, Kelenic?
10:26 |
Justin Mason: Eloy, Kelenic, Yoshida, Bryant, Vaughn, Rooker
10:26 |
Mookie Dookie: Whats your rough estimate of when J.Walker will be recalled?
10:26 |
Justin Mason: Memorial Day
10:27 |
Justin Mason: Not particularly. Does have decent upside but a pretty low floor as well.
10:28 |
Maladroit: OBP league, do you prefer Steer or Burger?
10:28 |
Justin Mason: Steer but close
10:28 |
Cut 1: 12 Team 5×5 Save Only. Need to cut a player to activate T. Anderson. Jung, Sale, W. Smith, Strahm, Eflin, Berrios
10:28 |
Mike Shannon: 8 team h2h points league. SP are a premium Would you advise Ashcroft drop for Wright pickup
10:28 |
John: Do you think Senzel might be putting something together here?
10:28 |
Justin Mason: Not really. Need to see more from a guy that has burned me as many times as him
10:28 |
Guest: Does Bobby miller get a start before all star game ?
10:28 |
Kichael Mopech: Fire Kopech into the sun
10:29 |
Longterm: I’m thinking of using a rosterspot for Brandon Marsh considering his hot start. Do you see this type of play as being sustainable for him going forward or is it more of temperory pick up?
10:30 |
Justin Mason: It definitely is not sustainable at this level. Getting really lucky on BABIP. He will regress, but he still should play a lot and there is pop and speed and I don’t think he fully falls off the table. Probably hits like .240-.250 rest of the way though.
10:30 |
Spach: 12 team, 5×5 standard head to head league. Would you deal Randy Arozarena for Soto straight up?
10:31 |
Justin Mason: That is tough. I don’t want to overreact on Soto, but I am super high on Arozarena. Randy is who I want.
10:31 |
Josiah Gray: Tell me why I shouldn’t believe the hype with him
10:31 |
Kichael Mopech: Agree starting Gore 2-start, but are you worried about him not really improving his BB% in this early surge?
10:32 |
Justin Mason: It is definitely concerning, but really hard not to roll with him while he is getting results. Walk rate needs to come down
10:32 |
Vaughn Grissom: I’m hitting well, but what’s going to happen to me when Arcia comes back?
10:33 |
Justin Mason: Hopefully he stays up. I think he should but I didn’t think he should have gone down initially either.
10:33 |
Aging SPs: Deep NL only 5×5. Matz or Thor ROY?
10:33 |
Justin Mason: Neither? I guess Matz
10:33 |
Why not Zoidberg?: Is Tyler O’Neil rosterable in an 8 team league? Traded Hoerner for him and think I’m probably holding on because of that mistake
10:33 |
Justin Mason: Hard to roster a guy that doesn’t play a ton in that size of a league.
10:33 |
Kid: Graham Ashcraft – Throws super hard, seems to limit hard contact… but also doesn’t miss bats and walks too many doods. Can he take a step forward to be a reliable mixed-league asset?
10:34 |
Justin Mason: I think this is who he is. He is a streamer in shallower formats.
10:34 |
Mookie Dookie: Grayson threw 75innings last year. How many do you expect the Orioles let him get to this season?
10:34 |
Justin Mason: Depends on how they are doing. If they fall out of the race he probably gets shut down at like 130
10:34 |
Kichael Mopech: Cut Smith for Jones in baseball?
10:34 |
Tucupita Marcano: Is he worth a pickup in a deeper NL only league or would you prefer Senzel? Anyone with a pulse in Pitt is stealing bases
10:35 |
Justin Mason: I prefer Senzel right now
10:35 |
Struggling White Sox: I spent 20 FAAB claiming Eloy and put out another 20 for Robert (people in my league are dumb and panic dropping in 12 team 5×5). Am I burning too much FAAB on buy low guys?
10:35 |
Justin Mason: Not for guys like that.
10:36 |
Justin Mason: I think he will be pretty good with some hiccups mixed in. Walk rate might be a concern that leads to some blow ups.
10:36 |
Vic: Deciding what to do with Shohei is the bane of my existence. He was dominating the As until a very bottom of the 3rd likely threw him off for a moment. I still think it was the right decision at the time, but a high AVG, 3 bags, and pair of HRs is tough to miss out on….should I leave him at DH moving forward unless his 2nd start is scheduled for a Saturday?
10:36 |
Justin Mason: I think that is a good strategy most times out.
10:37 |
Justin Mason: I have Anderson and Bradish a little higher than both but I can understand making those kind of moves.
10:37 |
Booby: Which 3rd baseman is better ROS…..Chapman or Jung?
10:37 |
Tommy: Amed Rosario hit the wire. Would you prioritize him over “hot popups” like Suwinski, Harold Ramirez, etc?
10:37 |
Mr Red: Cut bait on Casas and Tork in a dynasty league?
10:38 |
Justin Mason: I would try and trade them if I could. I moved Tork for Nathaniel Lowe at the beginning of the season.
10:38 |
Daniel: When are the Cards going to bring up Liberatore? He’s added velocity and is kicking ass.
10:38 |
Justin Mason: I think he may be up around Memorial Day. Maybe sooner if they cut bait on Matz
10:38 |
BCubs:
- I have a pitching logjam coming to a head, not sure how I should maneuver – 20 team 20 categories – bottom of my rotation is Quantrill, Wesneski, Wainright Bibee, I have Taillon and Waino coming off the IL in a few days. What do I do?
10:39 |
Justin Mason: Try and move Quantrill? I don’t think I would cut any of them for Waino
10:39 |
Wally: Drop Detmers or Taj Bradley?
10:39 |
Justin Mason: Depends on the situation, but it may be a month before we see Taj again.
10:39 |
Justin Mason: I would be.
10:40 |
diamond luck: Thanks as always Justin! 6X6 12 TEAM, Mikolas, straham, grey (tex). please rank for rest of the way.
10:40 |
Justin Mason: Gray, Mikolas Strahm
10:40 |
Kid: Could you rank which early season hot performances you think are the most “real” between: Rooker, Suwinski, Mateo, Burger. Thx.
10:40 |
Justin Mason: Mateo, Burger, Suwinski, Rooker
10:40 |
Insert Witty Name Here: In a league with an innings cap of 1250. My pitchers right now are Strider, Javier, Darvish, Hunter Brown, Bibee, and Pfaadt (waiting!). I need 1B help, would you say I’m solid enough to trade out Strider for an elite bat or try moving Brown or Javier for a lesser bat?
10:40 |
Justin Mason: I would try and move Brown or Javier first
10:41 |
Why not Zoidberg?: Haniger, Connor Joe, Noot, Miranda, and Kirk are available in a shallow H2H. You adding any of them? Might drop Sandoval, Abreu, Duran, TON
10:41 |
Justin Mason: I have no problem dropping Duran for Noot or Sandoval for Miranda or Kirk
10:41 |
Going for Broke: Took too many SP risks in my AL only ( Jose Suarez. Clarke Schmidt, etc) and am in a deep ERA/Whip hole. Should I double down with streamers/bulk (Houck, Ober, Pivetta, Suarez himself) or pick up a bunch of RPs?
10:42 |
Justin Mason: I am in this same position in a couple of leagues. I am just trying to use smart starters and then fill in with RPs over risky starters. Ratios move a lot more than people think.
10:42 |
Bill: Is there any hope for varsho? He was dropped in my league and wondering if I should use the #1 claim to get him. It’d an ops roto league and I have stephenson
10:42 |
Justin Mason: I absolutely would grab him’
10:43 |
Dave: In a league with an innings limit, are you trying to stay roughly on pace throughout the year; start slow, let the dust settle, and catch up once you have more info about pitchers/lineups; or jump out ahead before league-mates catch on to this year’s trends?
10:43 |
Justin Mason: I tend to jump out early and then manage things as things go on. I’d rather be ahead early than behind.
10:43 |
Billy: Senga must own in a 10 tm?
10:43 |
Justin Mason: I don’t think he is
10:43 |
RH: Peyton Battlefield worth holding? 14 team dynasty
10:43 |
Justin Mason: Probably not
10:43 |
Matt: In a 12 team standard league do you think Oviedo is a team streamer or more a true stream?
10:44 |
Justin Mason: Team streamer
10:44 |
Kevin: Would you drop any of AJ Puk, Carlos Estevez, or Kyle Finnegan for Andres Munoz in a 5×5 roto league? Obviously Munoz is way better than those guys, but they’re all currently getting saves and Sewald seems to have established himself in Munoz’s absence.
10:44 |
Justin Mason: I would drop Finnegan
10:44 |
Philies Phirst Base: I’m in a 10 person league and just trying to figure out how to make sense of the Phillies first base situation and how to decode the fantasy possibilities between Harper perhaps playing, Clemons hitting alright, Bohm playing sometime there, and Derrik Hall being hurt but maybe coming back
10:44 |
Justin Mason: I think Harper will hold it down a bunch when he is ready for the field.
10:44 |
Marty McFly: Are we concerned about a Seiya Suzuki power outage coming off the oblique, or is 1 HR small sample/in line with expectations?
10:44 |
Justin Mason: Too small of a sample to worry about right now.
10:45 |
Justin Mason: That is the order
10:45 |
Bryce Bryce Baby: Tough to predict, but what’s a dart throw target date for Bryce Harper to become 1B eligible?
10:45 |
Daniel: Logan Allen has looked good but I’m worried he won’t be long for the big leagues because of returning pitchers. Should I try to sell high on him now?
10:45 |
Justin Mason: Depends on what you could get. I think there is a real chance he is up for good.
10:45 |
Need Closer: I need a third closer and some doof dropped Pete Fairbanks. How much FAAB should I go? 12 team 5×5
10:46 |
Justin Mason: I am not high Fairbanks
10:46 |
Jeff!: Who do you like for 12-team 5×5 roto ROS: Tristan Casas, Josh Bell, or Miguel Vargas?
10:46 |
Bill: Would you be actively looking to shop Ohtani in a daily AL only league because there could be a chance he gets dealt to a NL team during the season? What is a reasonable asking price for a player who is a top 10 hitter and SP? He”s
10:46 |
Justin Mason: I would not. I think there is just a good enough chance he ends up staying in the AL.
10:46 |
Guest: Thoughts on Ezequil Duran? Rosterable in 12T?
10:47 |
Ned: we holding taylor ward?
10:47 |
OF Waiver Pickups: Nelson Velasquez or Austin Slater? Yaz going on IL creates some extra playing time for Slater?
10:47 |
Last Bat: Could you rank Vierling, Maton, Isbel? (AL only OBP)
10:47 |
Justin Mason: Isbel, Vierling, Maton
10:47 |
KBH: Dynasty League H2H Cat (R/XBH/HR/SB/AUG/SLG) – Keep 2 of 3 – Outman/Marsh/Kelenic
10:47 |
Chuck: Had to drop Heim last week with Will Smith coming off the IL. 12-team mixed, 1C. No question, just … sigh.
10:47 |
KBH: Need to keep one SP in H2H Cat Dynasty League (QS/W/K9/WHIP/ERA) Houck or Mason Miller ROS?
10:48 |
Bo Bo: Need a 1st baseman in H2h 12 team points league. Strike outs penalize points in scoring. Arenado and Brendan Donovan for Nate Lowe and Jazzy. Is this a reasonable trade?
10:48 |
Justin Mason: I think that is fair
10:48 |
Marty McFly: Worth holding a $0 Jordan Walker in a 12 team, 5 keepers at auction/acquisition value, only 5 bench spots so not super deep. I’m n a pack of 4 teams separated by 1 game at the top of the standings and have been OK so far, but losing the the ability to churn at the bottom of the roster without considering moving on…. Currently, I have Josh Jung at 3rd with a weak OF. Think he’s worth the roster spot?
10:48 |
Justin Mason: I would try and hold but I understand needing to move on.
10:49 |
HappyFunBall: Who do I complain to about the Twins announcing that Mahle is shelved for 6 weeks on a Sunday but NOT officially IR-ing him in time for weekly waiver pickups?
10:49 |
Justin Mason: Super annoying.
10:49 |
TB Bulk Bin: Do you have a preference between the TB followers, Flemming and Chirinos? I’m trying to vulture wins…
10:49 |
Justin Mason: I guess Fleming.
10:49 |
RAGBRAI: How long is Doyle up and is he part of the Rockies MLB roster most of this year? Next year?
10:50 |
Justin Mason: I think he is up but maybe not playing every day unless there is an injury to open up more time. This week will give us a better idea now that Grichuk is back. I picked him up a league to stream the front part of the week.
10:50 |
Fleur de (Ado)Lis: Was really counting on Santander to take that next step this year, but he’s not lookin great thus far. I try to be patient, but the statcast looks bleak as well. What are you doin with him at this point?
10:50 |
Justin Mason: I am benching for now.
10:50 |
Uninvited Guest: Any concerns about Alcantara? Good time to buy?
10:51 |
Justin Mason: Depends on how low you can buy. He is on a team that is bad, so wins won’t be there and that defense behind him is not good which is bad for him as a groundball guy.
10:51 |
Colton: Rendon, Bohm, Jung ROS in H2H points?
10:51 |
Justin Mason: Jung, Bohm, Rendon
10:51 |
Logan Allen is daddy: That is all, just a PSA
10:51 |
Justin Mason: Good information
10:51 |
Pierre: Is it safe to put my faith in Jose Berrios since he’s been good in his last two starts?
10:52 |
Justin Mason: Safe? No. Am I doing it? Probably
10:52 |
Tommy: Loaded with hitters and need to cut one when Harper gets activated. Would you cut: Taylor Ward, Correa, India, Cron or Jung
10:52 |
JW: Drop B.Elder or Canning for G.Stone? Both are on my bench in a 12 tm standard 5×5

10:52 |
Justin Mason: I can drop either
10:52 |
Justin Mason: What about you Bob?
10:52 |
Captain Awesome: Please tell me that Brady Singer is gonna figure it out … please?
10:52 |
Justin Mason: I am very skeptical and it hurts
10:53 |
HappyFunBall: James Paxton is about out of time on his rehab stint. What’s your O/U on effective MLB innings he throws this year?
10:53 |
Spach: How hard should I try and trade for Rodon while he is still on the IL? I’m in a 5×5 QS instead of W, category league. Would you deal Steele or Javier to get Rodon?
10:53 |
Justin Mason: I can see moving Steele for him. It is risky though
10:53 |
Quest: Hey Justin, can you help decide on four starts out of: Smyly @ Wsn, Smyly v. Mia, Luzardo v. Atl, Lodolo v CHW, MMiller @KC, Sandoval @ STL? QS Pts league. Thanks!
10:53 |
Justin Mason: Smyly, Smyly, Miller, Lodolo
10:54 |
carlos: are you selling mateo or do you think SOME of these gains can stick?
10:54 |
Justin Mason: He has made a real change that can stick for sure. At this point, I am a believer until the skills revert.
10:54 |
1B pickup choice: 10 team 6×6 w/OPS Harold Ramirez or Joey Gallo ROS?
10:54 |
Justin Mason: Ok, speed round!
10:55 |
Thomas: How would you rank LeMahieu, Steer, Burger, JD Davis?
10:55 |
Justin Mason: DJ, Steer, Davis Burger
10:55 |
Guest: A. Vaughn, Naylor, or Mervis ROS for a points league backup 1B?
10:55 |
Fred: Ohtani is the clear number 1 in a AL Only daily format since he gets hitting and pitching stats…is a offer of Yordan, Wander, Lynn enough to let him go?
10:55 |
Justin Mason: I think that is pretty fair.
10:55 |
Mason Justin: blake snell vs the reds today, love it or list it?
10:56 |
Justin Mason: Probably but I have never been a fan
10:56 |
Michael Massey: I’ll get it going just give me time… will you give me the time? will the royals?
10:56 |
Justin Mason: I think the Royals will
10:56 |
carlos: you got baty or gunnar ahead ros? h2h ops redraft league
10:56 |
Erik Bedard: are any Orioles SPs rosterable right now besides Grayson Rodriguez? Wells, Gibson, Bradish all meh.
10:56 |
Justin Mason: I think in deeper leagues they all are.
10:56 |
Matt: Trying to decide on a trade….offer is Harper for Edwin Diaz, Francisco Alvarez, and Dustin May. League is NL only 8 teams
Harper is $32 next year Diaz is $19 next year May is $11
I’d be on the side getting harper
10:57 |
Justin Mason: Harper side
10:57 |
Taj Mahal: Taj was lit up yesterday. 8 ER or something like that. With the obvious service time manipulation and yesterday’s hiccup, ETA still a week or 2 or now more like June?
10:57 |
Justin Mason: Jason Collette said yesterday on the pod he may be gone a while.
10:57 |
Guest: If you’re considering whether to buy Gunnar right now, how worried are you about Baltimore’s small army of MLB-ready infield prospects eating into his playing time down the road?
10:57 |
Justin Mason: I am worried he ends up a platoon guy.
10:57 |
Gubs: I get excited to see my question pop up in blue?
10:57 |
carlos: any interest in mitch haniger? could he hit 30 bombs this year? h2h ops league (assuming he stays on the field)
10:58 |
Justin Mason: Won’t hit 30 in SF
10:58 |
Kevin: Would you cut Melendez for any of Kirk, Stephenson, William Contreras, or Ruiz? 5×5 with OPS instead of AVG
10:58 |
Justin Mason: I am still holding for now
10:58 |
carlos: is sonny gray for real? he’s looked damn good early on
10:58 |
Justin Mason: I think he is as long as he is healthy.
10:59 |
SuperNES: 15 team H2H categories league. Eflin, ERod, or Ashcraft? Erod’s schedule after rh3
10:59 |
RJ: Trade Machado for M. Chapman? I know it sounds crazy, but the QOC for Machado is terrible
10:59 |
Pfaadt: How much of an impact are we talking?
10:59 |
Justin Mason: 120+ innings of good work
10:59 |
Bill Warts: 13 team mixed, 3B Eugenio Suarez, Baty, Rendon, or J. Turner. Thanks
10:59 |
Adam Jones enthusiast: Who do you like more between Grayson and Bibee/Allen? My gut says stick with Rodriguez, but the buzz around the latter two is so strong right now…
10:59 |
diadem: Is Matz toast? If not, what has to change?
10:59 |
Justin Mason: I think he is
11:00 |
James: 12 team keeper league, have P surplus and but my OF is weak: trade Grayson for Kwan?
11:00 |
Justin Mason: I think that is close enough
11:00 |
Mariners Closer: Is Munoz worth holding in a Saves only league? I feel like Sewald is going to get a lot of the saves and I have Rodon/Severino on my IL so I don’t really care about keeping some committee closer on my roster (even with good ratios)
11:00 |
HappyFunBall: In my daily I’ve been sitting Soto against LHPs. It’s working (161 wRC v R, 34! v L) and I’m sad. Is this what it’s come to for real?
11:00 |
Justin Mason: He will be fine
11:00 |
Bruce Live in 2023: need help in the middle infield, Ezequiel Duran a good add ?
11:00 |
Justin Mason: Duran is getting really lucky with bad plate skills. Can ride the hot streak, but I think it ends quickly.
11:00 |
Guest: Panic level on Alek Manoah? Is he more than an SP4 in 12 teamers this year?
11:00 |
Justin Mason: low, but there
11:01 |
Justin Mason: Once he is healthy
11:01 |
Justin Mason: How you doin?

In August, a team already loaded with offense…when AL H2H playoffs begin…what SPs are likely waiver wire pickups that you would stash….not the Allens, Bibees, and recent call-ups. Interested to hear from the community.
