Insert Witty Name Here: Six weeks ago I traded Crochet and Kirby for ELDC.  You didn’t like it, and I knew it was an overpay at the time but my prediction of Crochet breaking down looks to be coming true.  With the benefit of hindsight, did I make a good trade?

Justin Mason: I think you did ok, but it is really team contextual. IF you needed that offense, it worked out pretty nice

ML: What are your expectations for Tyler Mahle ROS?

Justin Mason: I don’t have high expectations coming off of surgery. Guys tend to struggled with command and control and I don’t know how deep into games he will go.

Speedsters: Which speedster do you prefer in OBP formats: Robles or Edwards?

Justin Mason: Edwards because his job is safer

Rivers Kuomo: Are you more interested in River Ryan after the impressive start yesterday? Think he’ll keep a spot in the rotation?

Justin Mason: I am interested in him but it really comes down to what the Dodgers do at the deadline. If they add another starter, then he heads back to AAA

Biscuit: You rolling with Doyle in weekly leagues? Replacement option would be Ward.

Justin Mason: I think I would roll with ward unless there’s news before lineups lock.

Biscuit: Seeing any significant value bumps for replacements after the recent trades?

Justin Mason: Mostly in the closer world. Ben Joyce likely becomes the closer in Anaheim once the move Luis Garcia.

Justin Mason: Jazz Chisholm gets a nice boost in park and team

Justin Mason: Alejandro Kirk now has the catching job in Toronto all to himself, but he has been bad this year

Idiotic Failson: What’s your take on Spencer Schwellenbach in dynasty leagues? He’s been pretty darn good. Is this who he is, or is he overperforming at the moment?

Justin Mason: I have been very impressed with Schwellenbach. Has good command and control along with a full aresnal. He was someone I touted as a second half breakout and I think it is happening.

KCBBq: What are your thoughts on Festa $1 rest of this season and 2025? Picked him up in a 12 team AL only H2H 5×5 keeper league.

Justin Mason: I don’t think Festa sticks in the rotation this year, but he is a really interesting arm for next season if he can figure out the command issues.

Rickey: is Pete Fairbanks going to get traded and be a closer on an excellent team, or is he going to end up as closer on the Rays as they completely sell off? Or something in between?

Justin Mason: I think they move him to a contender. Maybe the Dodgers?

Bobby Miller: Hi, what do you think is going on with him – injury? mechanics?  mental?  other?   The gap between expectation and performance is enormous.  Thanks

Justin Mason: I think he is struggling with mechanics. Often when guys get hurt the struggle to get their mechanics back in order. I believe in the Dodgers development so I think he will be fine at some point.

Daniel: 15 team roto keeper league. Currently in 2nd place. Send Volpe/Mayo to get Turang/Bregman?  Mainly in need of HR/RBI but could also use Avg as well

Justin Mason: No, This is too much upside to give up.

Kjer…Kjest… Heston: Will Heston Kjerstad get traded or will the Orioles trade some pieces to let him start? Was offered him as a piece in a Crochet trade in a 10 team obp league. Love the talent but curious on the playing time

Justin Mason: I think he will get traded. Should be an everyday player somewhere.

Sad Yankees: 10 team points league. 1B has been an absolute hole for me all season. My OF is reasonably strong and same with rotation. Just traded C. Sanchez, Trout, and G. Williams for Olson and G Rodriguez. Good?

Justin Mason: yeah, I like that

Bob: What do you expect for Crochet ROS?

Justin Mason: So hard to know what his innings will look like down the stretch depending on if he gets traded or not, but I think from a skills prospective, he is a top 10 pitcher.

seth: ty france have any value in great american?

Justin Mason: If he is playing every day he does, but I don’t think he does

Broken Bat: Both Adley and Westbrook are slumping at same time. Seems both are getting more rest lately. However O’s can’t shake away from division rivals. Temporary or is there an injury or just tired?

Justin Mason: I think this is just a bump in the road for Adley. He will be fine. I am worried about WEstburg. Z-Contact is way down this month and I wasn’t a believer in the breakout to begin with.

Bob: Do you think Cowser will be productive ROS?

Justin Mason: As long as he is playing every day he should be

Rick: In a Dynasty League how would you rank Manzardo, Yepez, and Locklear and more importantly do you think any will end up being above average starters?

Justin Mason: Manzardo, Locklear, Yepez. I think Manzardo should be an above average player and Locklear definitely could

Devin: Do you think the Rangers trade Kirby Yates? I’m looking to deal for a closer and I’m worried he may be out of a job.

Justin Mason: I don’t think they do. I’d guess they stand pat.

Mets: Your best guess – Think they stick to long term game plan by making small moves to incrementally improve without meaningfully weakening the farm, or make a big move for a starting pitcher?

Justin Mason: I think they make incremental moves. They aren’t close enough to being a WS contender to go all in.

Broken Bat: Given Romano injury, and trade of backup closer, why do you think after all this time did. jays let Person go for a bag of peanuts?

Justin Mason: Pearson is a live arm, but with his command and control, he was not going to close. At this point, the Jays should tear it down to the studs and do a full rebuild.

Justin Mason: I think it is a committee with Estevez getting the 60/40 split

JoeG: Could Graterol be in the mix for Saves when he gets the call ? Also Drew Rasmussen if Fairbanks gets traded ?

Justin Mason: I don’t think Graterol gets a look. I fully expect the Dodgers to acquire someone to lock down saves here in the next 36 hours

Justin Mason: Park is a factor, but injury history and command come into play. The command has been much better this season, so I am coming around for sure.

AJ: Does Acuna trade for help this season (Ozuna) and a top pick in next season’s draft in a 10-team keeper seem reasonable?

Justin Mason: I think I would want a ton back if I moved Acuna, but if it got me a championship, I would do it

Shaggy: Is Jeff McNeil officially back on the fantasy radar in most formats as at least a bench player?  Are you grabbing shares anywhere?  12 team roto here.

Justin Mason: I literally picked him up yesterday in a league where I needed average and runs. I think he is back to being the type of player he was.

Idiotic Failson: Is it reasonable to worry about Paredes outside of the Rays organization? I feel like his production was very gimicky.

Justin Mason: Not really because Chicago has been fairly successful with guys of his ilk in the recent past

Justin Mason: I missed out on getting Joyce in a number of leagues so I hear ya

LenFuego: It seems like there has been an almost across-the-league shift in starting pitcher removal philosophy this year, from “start any inning below 100 pitches and go past 100 pitches to finish the inning” up until this year to “do not start any inning if he is likely to exceed 100 pitches”, with very few exceptions (I’m looking at you Dylan Cease).  Am I wrong about this?  Has anyone at FG looked into it?

Justin Mason: I don’t know if anyone has looked into it but they definitely should
