Justin Mason’s Baseball Chat – April 24th, 2023
Here is today’s chat transcript:
9:42 |
: Chat will begin at the top of the hour as long as we have enough questions. In the meantime, please follow me on all my social media’s (twitter, tiktok, facebook, youtube, and instagram) at JustinMasonFWFB! I am doing regular podcasts on the FWFB podcast as well as three episodes a week for the Sleeper and the Bust so definitely make sure you are subscribed there as well! |
9:42 |
: Please don’t ask the same questions over and over. I will get to as many as I can. Make sure you include format and size of league. |
10:01 |
Freddy Peralta vs DET or 2x start Bradish vs BOS,@Det? : Would you rather start |
10:02 |
: I think I lean Bradish here, but depends on how risky I wanted to play it. Bradish could get smoked vs BOS |
10:02 |
Vince Velasquez, Joey Lucchesi, Tommy Henry and Jeremiah Estrada for the next month or so? : In NL Only, who do you like out of |
10:03 |
: I think I lean Estrada here because he has the stuff to close in Chicago. |
10:03 |
: Would you swap Mountcastle for Abreu in a shallow h2h ops league? trying to be patient with abreu given the sss but his power seems gone btw last year and this year. without a BA bump like last year, he isnt adding much value |
10:04 |
: Yes, I would. I am worried about Abreu |
10:04 |
: How does the log jam at AAA for starters play out? Soroka, Elder, Dodd, Shuster the correct order? |
10:04 |
: I think that is the right order |
10:04 |
: how would you rank haniger, soler and nootbar in a h2h ops league? |
10:04 |
: Soler, Nootbaar, Haniger |
10:04 |
Stone Garrett in DC? Maybe 15-20 HRs ROS? Maybe more? 🙂 : Whadaya think about |
10:05 |
: It all depends on whether or not he can maintain the improved contact. If he can, he could definitely hit 20+ rest of the way. |
10:06 |
Brady Singer for Matt Strahm…near and long term. |
10:06 |
: I am a bit stubborn on the guys I like so I am not ready to give up on Singer yet. Strahm was great in his last outing, but I worry about his role long term. |
10:07 |
Andrew Abbott being promoted to AAA and ostensibly being near a call up to the Reds I was curious to know your thoughts on him. How do you project him out for this season and what do you see as his ceiling? Thanks! : Justin, with |
10:07 |
: I am not going to pretend I know much of anything about him. The numbers look great but the scouting scores are kind of meh. |
10:07 |
: Are you stashing any of these guys right now: Liberatore, Bibee, Stone, Tiedemann? |
10:08 |
: I am stashing Bibbee and Stone right now. Tiedmann is really enticing but I don’t know when he will be up. |
10:08 |
Aaron Nola no longer strikes me as that *set and forget* kind of pitcher/player. Are you starting him @ Houston over the likes of Jon Gray @ Cincinnati, Wesneski v SD or Luis Garcia @ TB? : |
10:08 |
: Yeah, I am still rolling with him. |
10:09 |
: In a Saves/Holds league, would you rather bet on talent like Aroldis or Bard who aren’t putting up S/H, or go with guys actually producing S/H right now but aren’t as electric like
|
10:09 |
: I think I would rather bet on Chapman or Bard |
10:10 |
Miguel Vargas? Does he need to be dropped? : What’s the outlook at this point on |
10:10 |
: I am not worried about Vargas. His xBA is fine. Might need to become a bit more aggressive but I think he will be fine. |
10:10 |
Logan Allen, mason Miller, taj Bradley : Rank ROS please in roto 6×6 (wins and qs). |
10:11 |
: Bradley, Allen, Miller |
10:11 |
: do you think jon gray will be okay assuming he stays healthy and cuts down on the walks? hes never seemed to have major control issues in the past so hoping this will pass |
10:12 |
: I think if he is healthy, he will be ok, but health can be an issue with Gray. I wonder if there is an injury there already. |
10:12 |
: Im in a points league with a big weighting on QS, which group of starts do you think will do better this week: A) Alex Cobb vs STL , Mitch Keller vs LAD, Eovaldi vs NYY B) Nestor Cortes @ Tex , Cobb at SD |
10:12 |
: Cortes side |
10:13 |
: 12-team mixed 5×5 keeper. My pitching has been awful, and I’ve lost Woodruff for who knows how long. Got offered an $8 Pablo Lopez for a $11 Jazz Chisolm. Would prob cost me some points in SB and my backup options at 2B are LeMahieu and I. Paredes, but Chisolm’s K% has exploded and his batted ball profile looks atrocious (all of which means he’ll probably explode the minute I trade him). Should I pull the trigger? |
10:13 |
: I don’t have an issue with this deal. If I needed the pitching, I’d do it. |
10:13 |
: Suzuki, hays and Greene ROS in a redraft 5×5 league? |
10:13 |
: Suzuki, Green, Hays |
10:13 |
: What are you doing with Maeda? He is so unlucky right now and we can’t seem to make heads or tails on if he is worth a roster spot. AL only. Logan Allen and griffin canning are available in my league. |
10:14 |
: I would rather have Allen or Canning |
10:16 |
: are they really going to send down? |
10:16 |
: Unless there is an injury that we haven’t heard about yet. Maeda? |
10:16 |
: are canning and bradish in the same ballpark rankings-wise for you? h2h league W, K, ERA, WHIP league |
10:17 |
: I think they are. Bradish is a bit ahead for me due to Canning being in a six man rotation and his health history. |
10:17 |
: Would you be trying to sell Soto if he was on your team? Or is it a hold and hope situation? Anyone in particular you’d target in a trade that was drafted after him? |
10:17 |
: Got to hold I think |
10:17 |
: Ohtani as a pitcher or hitter this week. I mean it is Oakland….but then again it is Oakland for 4 games as a batter? |
10:17 |
: I could go either way. Depends on what your team needs more |
10:17 |
Jose Siri, Bae, Joey Wiemer, Chas McCormick, or Bryce Turang? : Hi Justin, who is the better bet for sbs ROS – Leody Tavares, |
10:18 |
: I think it is Tavares but I could be swayed into Bae |
10:18 |
: Sit Keller against LA? |
10:18 |
: I would |
10:18 |
: How would you order Baty, tork, Jung in a 5×5 redraft league. |
10:18 |
: Jung, Baty, Tork |
10:18 |
Chris Sale? I’m drinking the Kool-Aid… : How are you feeling about |
10:19 |
: I was in on him in draft season and while the first few starts were rough, I think he is going to be good ROS |
10:19 |
: think we can get to the show with the angels or will i need to be traded? |
10:19 |
: I think you need to be traded |
10:19 |
: Drop Fulmer for Lange? |
10:19 |
: Sure |
10:19 |
: How would you rank erod, bradish, strahm, logan allen in a roto k/9 league? I’ve got room to add two |
10:19 |
: Erod, Bradish, Allen, Strahm |
10:19 |
Tyler Stephenson or drop him? My options are Raleigh, Bethancourt, E Diaz, Gomes and G Moreno. Thanks! : 12 team mixed league…do I hold |
10:19 |
: Hold |
10:19 |
: Thoughts on pasquantino? His statcast numbers are great but his actual results have been meh |
10:20 |
: I think he will be fine once the weather starts to heat up in KC. I am not worried about him as of yet. |
10:20 |
: What do you expect for Garret Whitlock ROS? |
10:21 |
: I think he has really good stuff, but the command has been spotty early. If he can get that under control, he could take a big step. I am a bit skeptical it happens this season though. |
10:21 |
: Pick 3 please: O’Neill, Donovan, Leody, Gunnar, JD Davis? |
10:21 |
: Gunnar, Donovan, O’Neill |
10:22 |
Josh Lowe going forward in a 16-team weekly roster league? : What do you do with |
10:23 |
: I think you have to be thrilled with the early season production. The contact looks great and he is playing regularly. Unless we see him revert back, he is a potential stud that you got for cheap. |
10:23 |
Esteury Ruiz for Ke’Bryan Hayes? 12 team H2H categories (6×6 with avg, ops). : Drop |
10:23 |
: Sure |
10:23 |
Geraldo Perdomo , Brice Turang, Oswald Peraza, Luis Garcia. Daily Roto : Middle infielder needed: |
10:24 |
: I am rolling with Peraza right now but Garcia is probably the safer option. |
10:24 |
Graham Ashcraft, Griffin Canning ,or Matt Brash for back of rotation? : Logan Allen, |
10:24 |
: Ashcraft. |
10:24 |
: Would you be patient with someone like Santander or Conforto, or try to catch lightning in a bottle with someone like Marsh, Ramirez, or one of the Pirates’ sluggers? |
10:24 |
: I would be more paitent with Santander, but I don’t mind dropping Conforto for MArsh |
10:25 |
Alek Thomas with 2 homers in the last 5 games and his savant page is covered in red. What is your expectation RoS? : |
10:26 |
: I think this may be your last chance to buy low. I like the contact profile and how much he is pulling the ball. The defense will keep him playing even when he slows down. |
10:26 |
: Any concern about Morton’s strikeout rate? Seems like he’s becoming more and more of a slow starter. Any worry he’s no longer a strikeout per inning pitcher? |
10:27 |
: A bit. The swinging strike rate is down and zone contact is way up. This might be by design to get out of innings quickly, but it is not like he has elite defense behind him. |
10:27 |
Ryne Nelson vs. KC or go for a generic non-closing RP? : Are you in for an Oviedo two start week vs. LAD and @WAS? If not, would you go |
10:27 |
: I am in for Oviedo. The Dodger one is scary, but the Washington one is juicy. |
10:28 |
Scott Barlow. Dare I pick him up? : Someone dropped |
10:28 |
: I might just on spec |
10:28 |
: Looking for steals in a 13 team NL keeper league, and I picked up Brett Wisely. Think he keeps getting ABs/ends up doing anything with the ones he gets? |
10:28 |
: Probably not |
10:29 |
: The Angels whole seems consistently less than the sum of its parts. Do you think there is a chance this will start to turn around? |
10:29 |
: If their history is any indication, it wont. I am hoping it does because I think he deserve to see Trout and Ohtani in the playoffs together, but I don’t know if I believe it will happen. |
10:29 |
: Do you Tyrone Taylor will get decent playing time when healthy? |
10:30 |
: I think he gets some but it depends on if their other options are healthy or not. |
10:30 |
Riley Greene, Ke’bryan, Gimenez, and Kirk are gonna snap out of their luke-warm starts to the season and start producing? : Help me keep the faith that |
10:30 |
: I am not super worried about anyone I had faith in before the season unless there is a real mechanical or health issue. It has been three weeks. |
10:30 |
: What’s your trust level with Brito? Or, more specifically, what do you need to see him do to start using him with any sort of regularity in 12-teamers? |
10:31 |
: He is probably a streamer |
10:31 |
Edward Cabrera tonight against ATL? Otto FG points league… : Would you start |
10:31 |
: Nope |
10:31 |
: Which 2B has the best RoS in an OBP league — Brice Turang,
|
10:31 |
: Turang |
10:31 |
: what sort of return would you be looking for outman? top 100? are you still moving him if you can get a great return or has he done anything to warrant worth keeping ros in redraft leagues? |
10:31 |
: I think if I got an offer for a top 50-75 player, I would move him but if not I would just ride with him. |
10:31 |
: ros rank obp: J.Suwinski J.Meneses R.Greene |
10:32 |
: Meneses, Greene, Suwinski. |
10:32 |
: Will I remain in the rotation for the next couple of months and get stretched out, or will I move to the pen soon when Suarez might return or I reach an IP limit? Thanks |
10:34 |
: I think he moves to the pen once Suarez returns unless someone else gets hurt. His stuff plays better than Falters in the pen, but I could also see the Phillies move Falter to the pen or AAA. |
10:35 |
: Any thoughts on Machado? Has he shown anything that makes you think he turns it around soon? |
10:35 |
: I think he will because he is just always good. Being a bit too passive in the zone. I am not super worried yet |
10:36 |
: who are your biggest Low Buy candidates – AL & NL? |
10:36 |
: I’ll be writing that article today. Should be out on Fantasy Pros tomorrow or wednesday. |
10:36 |
: Please rank for saves ROS: R. Lopez, Quijada, Ottavino, Fulmer, Lange, Chafin, P. Johnson |
10:37 |
: Lange, Fulmer, Quijada, Chafin, Johnson, Ottavino |
10:37 |
: Hey! Thanks for doing these. I’m in a bad spot at catcher. Got in on O’Hoppe after my draft (18 team, 6×6 OBP, SLG) and now that he’s down I am desperate for any warm body. Any advice on low ownership cubic zirconias in the rough? |
10:39 |
Matt Thaiss is taking his spot and has a decent bat. Joey Bart has played well since returning. Jason Delay is playing well for the Pirates as well. : Man, that is tough in a league that deep. |
10:39 |
: You think Estrada gets a shot to close for Cubs |
10:39 |
: If the other guys keep struggling, he could. |
10:39 |
: all things equal, are you holding grayson rodriguez in shallow redrafts? or do you view him more of a team streamer? Ks are there. but so is the shaky control. and no wins 🙁 |
10:40 |
: Probably a team streamer in shallow leagues. |
10:40 |
Mason Miller over guys like Pfaadt, Liberatore, LTAllen, and other pitching prospects or even MLB pitchers like ERod, Strahm, and Gore. : Hi Justin, are you holding onto guys like Elder, Cabrera, and |
10:40 |
: I would probably not. I prefer E-Rod, Pfaadt, and Allen to all three. |
10:41 |
Steven Kwan experiencing a sophomore slump, or is he not the guy we thought he was last year? : Is |
10:42 |
: He will be fine. Dude has a 97% z-contact and is just running a low BABIP right now. |
10:42 |
: Do you think the Dodgers keep splitting ABs between Peralta and Heyward, or is there too much overlap there any one will eventually be favored over the other? |
10:43 |
: I think they need to bring someone else in and will at some point. Until then it is a shared job. |
10:43 |
: What are the chances he ends up getting around the same saves as Helsley this year? His slider has been electric and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to who will play the fireman role (Helsley was called upon in the 7th yesterday). |
10:43 |
: I think he could definitely get some sneaky saves. I had him on some faab lists yesterday in deeper formats. |
10:44 |
: Is Dansby just an average/runs guy now? Do you think he rebounds some power/is he worth trying to move for draft-level value? |
10:45 |
: I think he rebounds. He is just weirdly hitting everything on the ground right now. |
10:45 |
: Jose Abreu or Ke’Bryan Hayes rest of season in a standard 12-team league? |
10:45 |
: Hayes |
10:45 |
Michael Fulmer or dropping for Ottavino in a H2H 5×5? : Are we hanging on to |
10:45 |
: I would hold for now |
10:45 |
: Late to the chat, sorry if someone already asked, but would you drop E Rodriguez or Strahm for Kellenic or Nootbarr? Shallow points league, Whoever I add is an upside play and bench depth/team streamer for my Util Slot till Harper is back |
10:45 |
: Strahm for Kelenic in a heartbeat |
10:46 |
: What is the best way to convince people to take my one sided trade offers? Cookies? Pictures of puppies? |
10:46 |
: Got to go a bit darker. Maybe veiled threats? |
10:46 |
Nico Hoerner is for real? : Do we think |
10:46 |
: Yes. I was talking about him all offseason. |
10:47 |
Bryan Abreu worth adding yet? Dynasty league, we count saves (but not holds) and to make the add, it cost $3 real dollars (it’s a fun way we run our league so you don’t run out and add every hot got off the FA pile?) Would likely be cutting Mike Clev. : Is |
10:47 |
: I think he is worth it. |
10:47 |
: Which Tiger has the brighter outlook ROS in 5×5 draft and hold, Lorenzen or Turnbull? |
10:47 |
: Turnbull |
10:47 |
Brandon Marsh and Steven Kwan in a 12 team H2H points league? I’m 2-1 with 6th most points scored : who would you target in trades at LF with |
10:47 |
: Kwan |
10:47 |
: Regardless of position, in a keep three league where neither is likely to be kept, would you rather have Jung or Soler ROS? |
10:47 |
: Jung |
10:47 |
: CWS… roster construction. While I tended to give GM Hahn a pass because if the forced LaRussa thing and Kenny Williams perhaps a voice not needed anymore, it’s becoming apparent to me that Hahn just may be bad. The. Levi her and Benenteddi signings.Garcia a year ago and still being paid, Pollack taking less money to ply just to get away from south side. What do you think root problem is on south side Chicago? |
10:48 |
: Man, I have no idea. This team should be much better than it has looked. |
10:48 |
: would you drop Drury or Steer when Moncada comes back? (H2H OPS league) |
10:48 |
: Drury |
10:48 |
: Good news that d’Arnaud has started baseball activities. How do you see the workload being balanced once he returns? Murphy seems to feed off playing consistently. Will that finally signal the end of the Ozuna experience? |
10:48 |
: I hope they just get rid of Ozuna, but I was not a fan of the early usage. |
10:49 |
: with Mason Miller sticking in the rotation – is 100 IP with 120 K’s, a 3.45 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP not out of question? What’s a realistic expectation going forward for him |
10:50 |
: I think that is an ok projection. Might be a little low on the ERA, but I think the biggest issue is health and the fact he won’t get wins. For that reason, he is hard to roster because he is almost like a really good middle reliever. |
10:50 |
: Matt Boyd or
|
10:50 |
: Boyd |
10:50 |
: When do you think we see Liberatore? Are you in based on promising AAA results? Him as a stash or Silseth? |
10:50 |
: Rather stash Liberatore |
10:50 |
: Are Edman and Albies going to steal enough bases to carry me in roto league? |
10:51 |
: Doesn’t look like it. |
10:51 |
Adbert Alzolay happen in closing games as it relates to fantasy? Fulmer is not getting it done, nor is Boxberger : Not only for the sake of my real Cubs, but when does the change to say |
10:51 |
: I would love them to give him a shot, but I worry this turns into a committee if Fulmer or Boxberger don’t grab the reigns. |
10:53 |
: Ok, got to wrap up soon, so let’s do a speed round to answer as many questions as possible |
10:53 |
: H2H Points keep forever dynasty: Can you give me an approx value of SP you would give up to get Kelenic? Still unsure if this start of season is a mirage. Detmers too much? Too little? |
10:53 |
: Too little. I want the moon right now |
10:53 |
: Boyd or Singer ROS in only roto league |
10:53 |
: Singer |
10:53 |
: Baltimore is a tough match-up for Sale, even with the improvements last time out. Starting him in most formats? |
10:53 |
: Yes |
10:54 |
: Will either Grichuk or Suwinski much value rest of the season? |
10:54 |
: Grichuk could. Suwinski is what he is |
10:54 |
: Would you roll w Cabrera vs Braves tomorrow |
10:54 |
: No |
10:54 |
: Coming from someone in an NL Only league, should I be worried that he’s playing himself into being a decent trade piece for the Nats and could move to the AL? Would the Phils make sense as a trade partner or is it remotely possible the Nats hold onto him since Kieboom seems to have a setback every other month? |
10:54 |
: I would be shocked if they don’t move him at the deadline |
10:54 |
: What to do with him in an NL Only league? Cut bait or hold and stash Boxberger until the next save chance comes up? Any love for
|
10:54 |
: Hold |
10:55 |
: Why isnt there more love for my teammate Suwinski? His Statcast #s look great… |
10:55 |
: Because he strikes out a ton and will be platooned |
10:55 |
: are we past the time when K rates stabilize? if so, is it time to start buying in on at least a partial return to form for cody bellinger? |
10:55 |
: I think we are getting close. I was a buyer of Bellinger in draft season and still am |
10:55 |
: Am I the real deal (e.g. a top-25 OF all season)? Or should my owners get out while the wave is cresting? |
10:55 |
: Top 25 is a bit high but I am a beliver he is top 35-40 |
10:56 |
: Snell turned it around in the second half putting up outstanding numbers. Will we have to wait again until July for him to get going? |
10:56 |
: Probably |
10:56 |
Drop P Schmidt and Jameson? : |
10:56 |
: Depends on for who |
10:56 |
: Suwinski or Outman rest of season? |
10:56 |
: Outman |
10:56 |
: 14 team dynasty league with 23 man rosters what should with abrams? I’m not getting a lot of bites on the trade market, is he cuttable or do I just need to be patent? |
10:56 |
: I would be patient |
10:56 |
: Brice Turang? Is he toast because the league learned how to pitch to him or can he hit 250-260 with some power and speed? |
10:57 |
: Don’t think there is much power, but I think he can hit 260 and steal bases |
10:57 |
: How much longer of a leash will he have before the Cards trade away one of their young hitters to replace him in the rotation? I loved what I saw in Spring, but it’s been ugly so far. |
10:57 |
: I think he has a little leash, but the Cards want to win so he might only get through may |
10:57 |
Jordan Montgomery with out the K upside. : Hi Justin, thanks for doing these! In shallower leagues (10 team 6cat QS) do you think it is better to gamble on k upside with guys like Mason Miller, Logan Allen or Matt Strahm or hold on to solid guy like |
10:58 |
: I think I would rather have Montgomery over all of those |
10:58 |
: Have to drop an SP. Mason Miller, Senga or Grayson to the wire? |
10:58 |
: Miller |
10:58 |
: For this week in a 5×5 NFBC Roto: Jansen or Zunino and Steer or Torkelson? |
10:58 |
: Jansen and Steer |
10:58 |
Sal Frelick in 15 team league? assumed he is coming back soon from IL and getting call-up : Would like to stash |
10:58 |
: It is so hard to read but I would stash him |
10:58 |
too easy to steal in MLB now? I think pitchers should be able to control the run game more, but MLB took that away. : Is it |
10:58 |
: Yes it is. |
10:59 |
: are you moving any shares of matt olson? optically his numbers are good but that K rate is SCARY |
10:59 |
: I don’t think I am |
10:59 |
: Do you see Juan Yepez getting traded this year and/or getting some extended run with the Cardinals? Seems like he could be a worthwhile NL only bat if he can get some playing time? |
10:59 |
: I would love to see them do it, but I don’t think they do. |
10:59 |
: Trying to gauge your thought for a QS Points league. i have to start three of: Lodolo (home v. Tex), Fried (@Mets), Miller (v. Cin), Luzardo (v. CHC), E Cabrera (v. CHC), Syndergaard (@Pit), or Whitlock (v. Cle). |
10:59 |
: Lodolo, Luzardo, Fried |
11:00 |
Drew Smyly at all? Seeing any noticeable alterations? : Need to replace Jameson as ;my last SP. You trusting |
11:00 |
: Nope |
11:00 |
: I think Alex Kiriloff forces his way back to the bigs…what say you? |
11:00 |
: If healthy he does. Big IF though |
11:00 |
Brandon Pfaadt joining the Snakes’ rotation? : ETA for |
11:00 |
: two weeks |
11:00 |
Tyler O’Neill a cut? : Is |
11:00 |
: In shallow leagues, I think he might be. I have a hard time doing that because the talent is there. |
11:00 |
: I wish they’d trade him |
11:01 |
: are you a freddy peralta fan? seems like one of those pitchers who can pitch a gem one week then not show up the next week |
11:01 |
: Yeah, he is frustrating, but the upside is amazing |
11:01 |
: Justin – How come you think Fantasy Baseball is “Dumb”? Don’t you make a partial living off writing about it? |
11:03 |
: Man, people really took that tweet out of context. The premise is dumb. We are playing a game based on being imaginary GMs of imaginary teams. That doesn’t mean I don’t love it! I love the game. I love playing it. I take it very seriously. Lighten up a little. It is still a game |
11:03 |
: 10 team roto league: I’m streaming Grifffin Canning tomorrow but am likely gonna drop him after his start on Wed AM for one of Velasquez, Ed-Rod, Logan Allen or Joey Lucchesi (just for the stream against WSN). How would you rank em? |
11:03 |
: E-Rod |
11:03 |
|
11:03 |
: Kelenic, Ward, Outman |

Reid Detmers? Hold and Pray? He’s been so thoroughly MEH this year. : What the heck do we do with |
11:04 |
: I think he is a hold for now |
11:04 |
: Rodon (NYY) was dropped. 15 team mixed redraft. Have an open IR spot. Do you anticipate him being effective when he returns – end of May? How aggressive would you bid? Thanks |
11:04 |
: I think I would be pretty aggresive considering the upside, but I am worried he keeps having setbacks. |
11:04 |
Kyle Gibson? He is using his sweeper a ton and has a good home ballpark and a favorable upcoming schedule. Think he is a year long guy, or matchup guy with his new pitch mix? : Where are you on |
11:04 |
: I think he is a team streamer that you hold and pick your matchups with. Love seeing the new pitch mix |
11:04 |
: Need to drop a MI bat in a 10 tm OBP roto league with partial keepers: Zeke Tovar or
|
11:05 |
: Tovar |
11:05 |
Danny Jansen isn’t THIS bad, is he? : |
11:05 |
: Nah, he will be ok |
11:05 |
Corbin Carroll for Yordan as the main pieces of a deal? : Dynasty league format, would you trade |
11:05 |
: I would not |
11:05 |
Austin Hays in a standard 5×5 plus BB’s? Both seem to be making great contact. : Thoughts on JD Martinez vs |
11:05 |
: Prefer JD |
11:05 |
Brayan Bello or Hayden Wesneski in a 10 team roto right now? Strahm, Velasquez, Mahle, Flaherty are all on the wire : Worth holding onto either |
11:05 |
: Wesneski |
11:05 |
Jose Suarez. Next on the block is Waldichuck. Do you hold out hope? : Al only keeper: finally cut |
11:05 |
: I am rolling with Suarez for one more week. |
11:05 |
: Think Brandon Hughes gets into the closer mix in Chicago? |
11:05 |
: Could be anyone at this point. |
11:06 |
: I still think Fulmer locks it down though |
11:06 |
: Sit B Garrett vs ATl? Looks like he lines up vs Atl on consecutive starts |
11:06 |
: Yeah, I wouldn’t risk that |
11:06 |
Jean Segura dropped in my 12x. Grab him up or is he cooked? : |
11:06 |
: I probably pass on that. |
11:06 |
Brent Rooker is legit or are the A’s too terrible for him to make a big fantasy impact? : Do you think |
11:06 |
: The A’s are just terrible enough to let him play enough. |
11:06 |
Max Muncy for Brice Turang? 10 team 5×5. : Should I drop |
11:06 |
: No! |
11:06 |
: Someone in my roto league dropped Eflin, do I pick him up and drop Jon Gray |
11:06 |
: Sure |
11:07 |
Tommy Edman playing time now that Dejong is back? : Any concerns about |
11:07 |
: I don’t think his playing time is in trouble, but hitting ninth is a problem. |
11:07 |
Daniel Espino, Gavin Williams, Gavin Stone, Bobby Miller, Tanner Bibee? : Justin- Hi! Which potential ML SP do you think will have most fantasy impact in 2023 — |
11:07 |
: Bibee |
11:07 |
Taylor Ward or Ty France in a shallow roto league for any of the following: Mountcastle, Yoshida, Bell, Wisdom, Santander, Seiya, or Nootbaar? Thanks! : Hey Justin, if position doesn’t matter, is it worth dropping |
11:08 |
: I would for Seiya |
11:08 |
: Manzardo or Pasquantino long term? |
11:08 |
: Vinny P |
11:08 |
: How much do you worry about underperforming starters at this point? |
11:08 |
: Not too worried unless there is a really big drop off in stuff or velo |
11:08 |
: I was getting ready to cut bait on Yoshida and he popped 2 in an inning. Still, lots of ground balls. Be patient or cut for a Carpenter or Suwinski? |
11:08 |
: Hold |
11:08 |
: You starting Lodolo in both starts this week? That last outing has me nervous |
11:09 |
: Yeah, I am still rolling with him. |
11:09 |
Wade Miley/Matt Strahm? : Jose Berrios’s YTD stats are ugly (6.23 ERA, 1.20 WHIP), but he’s got the highest CSW% of his career (30.6%) and a 19% K-BB%, which is comparable to his best season in 2021 (20 K-BB%). He was pretty reliably good before last year’s debacle, but he’s still giving up a lot of hard contact, particularly on his fastballs, and his Statcast xERA is a lackluster 5.07. What do you expect ROS? Can he pitch to a mid- to high-3’s ERA like he consistently did until last year? Would you cut him for any of Logan Allen/Griffin Canning/Drew Smyly/Kyle Gibson/ |
11:09 |
: I think I would hold for now, but I understand cutting him if you are worried for Allen. |
11:09 |
Curtis Mead for Jeremy Pena in dynasty league, and I regret it. Will it be the worst decision? : I traded |
11:09 |
: You will regret that |
11:10 |
