Highlights from the Ottoneu Community

The ottoneu community is quickly growing into a hub of ottoneu analysis and discussion that supplements our longer form analysis on Rotographs. Today, I’d like to give a little preview of some of the additional discussion going on over at the community, led mainly by Justin, Trey, and Joe, as well as by some more adventurous members of the community who have been interested in trying their hand at writing. While the community certainly isn’t intended to replace any of the rigorous analysis done here at Rotographs, the hope is that it can serve as a less formal complement to the traditional content produced here, with a variety of forum-like features that encourage discussion, debate, suggestions for new ottoneu features, and plenty of friendly banter.

Freddie Freeman

Trey’s post on Freddie Freeman is a pretty traditional player profile, but obviously with an ottoneu-centric bent. The ottoneu community allows us to create some smaller pieces like this highlighting single players, and save the bigger content for Rotographs.

Kyle Barraclough

Community member Lt_Fluffski wrote this fun post about Kyle Barraclough, highlighting both his skills as a pitcher, and the thought process behind acquiring, and potentially keeping, a player in ottoneu.

Chris Archer

Trey’s post on Chris Archer made me feel good about the league where I held Archer through his early struggles … but not as good about the league where I traded Archer to Trey!

Not just player profiles!

In addition to some player-specific commentary, the community is also growing quickly in other areas, such a portfolio of ottoneu tools to help you manage your team (one such tool, the Standings Dashboard, is pictured above), and the popular trade feed, which monitors every trade (yes, every single trade!) made in an ottoneu league. Things are quiet now since the deadline has passed, but during the regular season and off season, trades come fast and furious from all over the ottoneu universe. Plus, there are educational discussions about the rules and FAQs, and threads to communicate with Niv Shah, the creator of ottoneu, about upgrades and new features. If you haven’t checked out the community yet, feel free to take a look, and if you have, we hope you’ll continue to join us in building a vibrant destination for discussing, sharing, and creating ottoneu content.
