Notable Workloads
•Jhoan Duran, MIN: 26 pitches on Friday. | RosterResource
Brock Stewart is the top choice to close Saturday if Duran is unavailable, especially with Jorge López struggling so much lately.
•Kyle Finnegan, WSN: 34 pitches on Friday. | RosterResource
It’s possible that Hunter Harvey also isn’t available after 16 pitches on Friday and 34 pitches on Wednesday, but with Thursday off it feels pretty plausible he’d be good to go. If he’s down, though, Carl Edwards Jr. is the likeliest closer.

Outlier Saves
•Justin Lawrence, COL | RosterResource
The Rockies handed Daniel Bard a five-run lead in the ninth, surely feeling that he’d close out the game with no problem. Unfortunately that wasn’t quite the case, and while he got two outs, Bud Black had seen enough with a couple walks and a hit to load the bases. Closer Pierce Johnson threw 21 pitches Thursday and struggled mightily, so he stayed in the bullpen as Lawrence took the ball and struck out pinch hitter Jackie Bradley Jr. to earn his first save of the year.
Lawrence has been one of the league’s breakout relievers this year, with Friday’s out lowering his ERA to 2.90, and he’s struck out 34 batters in 31 innings, holding hitters to a .193 average.
•Bryse Wilson, MIL | RosterResource
Craig Counsell decided to use Devin Williams in the bottom of the ninth in a tie game, and once the game got pushed to extras, he gave way to Elvis Peguero for the tenth after the Brewers were held scoreless in the top of the inning. Peguero was able keep the Reds off the board, before Wilson came in to protect a two-run lead in the 11th.
Wilson did let the zombie runner score but was able to strand the tying run on base for his third save of the season. It was his first “traditional” save of the year, with his first two of the three-inning variety. Wilson’s been a valuable Swiss Army knife reliever for the Brewers, with a 2.45 ERA in 29.1 innings spanning 17 appearances.

Does Hendriks’ exclusion indicate that you do not think he will be in the closer mix any time soon, or is that an oversight?
Untimely considering he came in in the 7th yesterday. . . .
Pitched the 9th today in a non-save situation. Each outing has been better than the last and his velocity has increased in each appearance even though today was the second day in a row he pitched. He is one of those guys that doesn’t care what inning he pitches, but I bet within a week or so he is the primary guy.
