Notable Workloads
•Emmanuel Clase, CLE: 27 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource
Trevor Stephan and Enyel De Los Santos are the likeliest to fill in for Clase if needed.
•Aroldis Chapman, TEX: 34 pitches on Sunday; 16 pitches on Saturday. | RosterResource
Chapman might need a couple days off after a huge weekend workload, which makes Will Smith and José Leclerc the likeliest closers.
•Jordan Romano, TOR: 36 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource
Jordan Hicks, Yimi García, Tim Mayza, and Trevor Richards should all be available Monday.

Outlier Saves
•Jason Adam, TBR | RosterResource
Pete Fairbanks pitched Saturday, Thursday, and Wednesday, which left Adam to protect a three-run lead on Sunday. It was no unfamiliar task for Adam, as he’s filled in for Fairbanks during his multiple IL stints. Adam’s 1-2-3 inning gave him his 12th save of the season; he may now be unavailable on Monday after pitching back-to-back days and three-of-four.
•Ryan Thompson, ARI | RosterResource
One day on the roster, one save for Thompson. Signed to a minor league contract after being DFA’d and then released by the Rays, Thompson was selected to the roster on Sunday morning and found himself substituting for Paul Sewald on Sunday afternoon. The sidearming righty had no problem earning his first save since last season, pitching a 1-2-3 inning with two grounders and a strikeout. If he pitches well down the stretch he could survive the offseason roster crunch and be eligible for arbitration twice more before hitting free agency.
Committee Clarity

Losing A Grip
•David Robertson, MIA | RosterResource
Robertson’s already lost his grip, with Craig Mish reporting Sunday morning that the trade deadline acquisition would be removed from his job for the time being. Saturday’s blown save gave Robertson an ugly 7.20 ERA since being acquired, with six walks and a hit by pitch to nine strikeouts. He’s also allowed two homers in ten innings after allowing just five in 44 innings with the Mets. Tanner Scott had no problem recording the save on Sunday, and he’s first in line for saves until Robertson earns his job back, if not for the rest of the season. The lefty will be the Marlins’s third closer of the season, after A.J. Puk and Robertson.
