All Questions Answered Thread: March 13, 2014

Since tomorrow marks the beginning of a busy drafting weekend, many of you readers will have some questions you’d like answered. In an effort to help, I am giving you a chance to get your questions answered today.

All reasonable questions posted in the comments by 8:00 PM EDT will be answered. What makes a question reasonable? Glad you asked.

A reasonable question would look something like:
• “Who would you rather have, Matt Holliday or Shin-Soo Choo?”
• “Rank these five players: Martin PradoKyle SeagerAaron Hill, Chase Headley, and Jedd Gyorko ”
• “What is your projection for Mark Trumbo?”

An unreasonable question would be:
• “Who would you rather have, Albert Pujols or Adam Moore?”
• “I have these 20 players, and I’d like you to rank them.”

Of course there’s a gray area, but I’m a decent human being and will probably answer your question. Just please be gentle and don’t make the questions too time consuming or asking questions with 30 different parts.

You can ask about any relevant fantasy topic, from draft day etiquette to anything else on your mind, it will likely be answered. Or, you can ask random questions and I may answer those, too, if I’ve had enough to drink.

I believe for your player values you devalue SB, esp vs HRs? This has changed over time but now in most leagues, I notice that HRs far outweigh SBs, making the latter more valuable to me? Given the way the league has changed now, aren’t SBs more valuable?

I thought in your recent calcs you had a HR more valuable than a SB yet in most leagues, SB are more scarce. Is that incorrect?

Zimm had a really interesting point last night that if you use SGP instead of RL you see that something like 50% of SBs go undrafted but more than 3/4 of homers get drafted. I thought that was interesting, but it would suggest that SBs are even more scarce while being valued less at the same time…
