I’m staying away from Triston McKenzie: (1) a very extensive injury history and pitchers with prior injuries tend to have more injuries; (2) there is no place for him in the rotation when Clevinger and Plesac come back and (3) the Tigers make every pitcher look good so I’m taking his start with a grain of salt.
Agree. I also think he is going to be given no leash whatsoever given his injury history and lengthy layoff. He was absolutely rolling against the Tigers and they pulled him after 80 pitches even though his final inning was a 10 pitch inning with 2 Ks and a fly out.
He gives up a couple runs and puts a couple men on and he’s out of there immediately, doesn’t matter if it’s the 2nd inning.
Having veterans who are going to be allowed to work through some trouble and go 5 IP is so vital this season.
