1. Stanky Body Language
Gary Sanchez parked two yesterday off David Price. That’s cool, especially because I picked Sanchez last night. But the best part of the below video is Price. He has a 0.75 second tantrum as soon as Sanchez connects with the ball. Both times.
Elsewhere versus Price, Aaron Judge revealed how he plans to murder somebody. I kid, but he is liable to kill a pitcher one of these days.
2. Weather Reports
Pittsburgh and Cleveland may get storms tonight. It’s about a 30 to 40 percent chance. Monitor accordingly.
3. Pitchers to Use and Abuse
Main Slate: Fourteen games and only one ace. Corey Kluber returned from the disabled list with a 10 strikeout gem. Storms could interrupt his dominance tonight. The rest of the slate is damned ugly.
Although Ervin Santana will certainly experience a heavy dose of regression, it won’t necessarily happen tonight at AT&T Park. It’s a lovely venue for pitchers against a middling opponent.
Michael Wacha has the be one of the more popular options tonight. The Cardinals are hosting the lowly Phillies. Wacha has three straight terrible outings. Before the slump, he was a steady if unimpressive option. Wacha tends to cruise through a few innings before melting like a snowman on the beach.
The Rays are a sneaky tough opponent, but they are prone to strikeouts. For that reason, Andrew Triggs has a reasonably high ceiling. Colby Rasmus has two plate appearances against Triggs. He is the only Ray to face Triggs more than once. This is relevant because the A’s righty has a funky delivery.
My personal favorite of the day is Brad Peacock. He’s posting absurd strikeout numbers and costs only $7,000. He should – rightfully – be hugely popular. Not only is Peacock dominating the competition, he’s facing the Trout-less Angels.
One last name in the bargain bin… Jordan Montgomery is opposed by the Orioles. They’ve had a rough go of it against southpaw pitchers. Montgomery still needs to discard his bad sinker – it doesn’t interact with anything in his repertoire.
Stack Targets: Miguel Gonzalez, Vance Worley, Andrew Cashner, Eric Skoglund, Brian Johnson, Amir Garrett, Randall Delgado, Sam Gaviglio, Tyler Glasnow, Jhoulys Chacin, Jeremy Hellickson, Jordan Zimmermann
4. Hitters to Use
With Garrett on the bump for the Reds, right-handed Dodgers like Chris Taylor, Logan Forsythe, and Austin Barnes are valuable picks.
There are too many first basemen… Miguel Cabrera, Paul Goldschmidt, and Yonder Alonso are my favorites from a super deep pool. Perhaps you should select other positions first.
Daniel Murphy is rested for a matchup against Cashner. Jed Lowrie is a sneaky bargain pick against Cobb.
It’s too bad Josh Donaldson costs $4,400. That’s probably a little much for the potent slugger. He’s opposed by Gaviglio.
Corey Seager is one of my favorite picks when facing a southpaw. Why do I like the lefty on lefty matchup? Because he has minimal platoon splits yet his ownership plummets. And there’s still a soft bullpen to exploit in the second half of the game.
If first base was too deep, let’s just look away from the outfield. I do like Andrew Benintendi and Matt Kemp as bargain picks.
5. SaberSim Says…
Kluber, Matt Moore, Skoglund, Wacha, and Rich Hill are the top rated pitchers today. I’m not a fan of Moore volatility, nor do I believe Skoglund is more than a swing starter at this time. I left off Hill because of his leprosy.
Top hitters include Bryce Harper, Cabrera, Mookie Betts, Goldschmidt, and J.D. Martinez. Notable values include Brandon Drury, Austin Barnes, and Eric Thames.
6. The Daily Grind Invitational
Part of me is glad I don’t win the Invitational on the regular. After all, it’s for you, the reader. This same part of me would like to finish second every night. A different part, the competitive part, wants to outright win every day. Screw the readers. In any case, Sanchez’s double donger plus Stephen Drew, Bryce Harper, and Lance McCullers supplied 159.2 of my 180.9 points. Damn Phillies stack ruined my chance at a big payday. Leaderboard.
Another FanDuel if you’ll please.

Tis true that his big career split has not manifested this year. But he has started eight straight and will probably sit tonight because of that pesky career split.
